For the first time since yeasterday I have 2 free hands to type.
So, our fun ordeal from yeasterday. I was doing laundry and the kids were in the living room playing. There is a gate to keep them out of the kitchen, a gate for the den (and bathroom) and then our bedroom door was shut and neither kid knew how to open doors. I come out of the laundry room after about 15 minutes because I hear Caid SCREAM, so I run out there and find them in the bedroom...caid with vick's vapo steam (for the vaporizer) open, in his hand, and dripping down his chin, all over his jammies, etc. There was like 60ml missing of it. So I called poison control, they said the safe amount of it is 2ml, so to the ER we go...by the time we got to ER Janelle was claiming that she drank it too, so just to be on the safe side they checked her over. The kids both got iv's, a ton of blood drawn, activated charcoal through a tube down their noses, and chest x-rays. The blood results came back with (I guess they were worried about aspirin levels as this stuff is nothing but highly concentrated aspirin with menthol in it) caid having slightly elevated but not at all dangerous levels of aspirin and janelle having none...so luckily it seems janelle didn't drink any and caid spit out everything he could cause it tasted horrible...but it wasn't a fun day.
To get to it Janelle had to open the door(something she had NEVER done before), open dresser drawers, and climb onto the dresser. Luckily we do have our dressers strapped to the wall so they can't tip.
Needless to say, we childproofed the bedroom last night.
