Who else buys the soft shoes for their little ones?

What brands do you have and like?

What shoes do you have?

How long do you plan on heaving your kids wear them?

Audrey wears Robeez. And Genevieve too, although Genevieve only has a pair that serve as monkey slippers. Audrey has two pairs, the black party bows and the pink dragon flies.

I have a pair of the Walmart Robeez kitty knock-offs, and a pair of Jack and Lily's. There is quite a difference in the quality of the leather.

We never had these for Avery but have these 2 pairs for Sabrina. I really like them because they keep the socks on and don't limit foot movement. Although with Sabrina crawling and dragging her feet around, the shoes are starting to wear at the toes. :(

We have these:

I want to get her another pair so we can alternate them.

I never had them for Aidan and he doesnt have any now, either. However, we got some Robeez as a gift for N&E and I LOVED them. Since then, I've bought several pairs. IMO, the Jack & Lily are the same quality as the Robeez, but cheaper, so that is what we've been buying. I've tried the Wee Steps (got the black ones w/ the grossgain bow for Norah for the holidays) and the quality of the leather wasnt great, IMO.
Norah and Elliott are both walking now and when we are out, they wear their Stride Rite shoes (or gymbo shoes  ) , but at home, they wear the soft shoes b/c its cold and it prevents Elliott from taking off his socks!!
After they outgrow these, I likely wont buy any more. It will be summer and they'll be fine. next winter, they can wear regular slippers!

We have robeez and shoo shoo's. Janelle has been wearing them nearly exclusively (except for some cute matchy matchy type shoes for certain outfits) her whole life, and Caid has never had anything else. So far those are the only brands we have tried, but I really want to get some moss feet shoes for Caid if I can get a custom slot, I want sushi shoes! I also saw some brand, wee steps maybe, that made tomato shoes...I thought those would look cute paired with grown with love stuff. :blush1:

I had only planned on keeping Janelle in soft soled shoes till she could walk/run really well...but everytime I put her in other shoes (and I'm talking about good quality (stride rite, elefantan, etc.) shoes fitted by sales people she gets horrible in grown toenails...her feet are weirdly shaped...so we are sticking with robeez till she outgrows them...since she is still very comfortably in 12-18 months I forsee her being able to wear them till she is 6...but even if she still hasn't outgrown them she will be getting real shoes then since that's when she will be starting school.

Who else buys the soft shoes for their little ones? Me! :)

What brands do you have and like? Only Robeez. I like to buy Canadian. :)

What shoes do you have? Anna's had 4 pair, all in different sizes. Let me think... plain purple, then white with star cutouts, then blue bunnies, then her current purple butterflies.

How long do you plan on heaving your kids wear them? Until she outgrows the sizes that they make.

I really believe that they are best for her feet, so whenever she needs footwear and she's inside (home, mall, church, playgym, etc.) she wears her Robeez. We didn't have a pair for last summer, though because we spent most of our time outside.

How long do you plan on heaving your kids wear them? Alexis will be wearing them only for a short while longer. She wore them when we were in Buffalo earlier this month. We are going to be almost 60 today, so once the warm weather hits here, she will be getting a pair of sandals.

Who else buys the soft shoes for their little ones? Me! :)

What brands do you have and like? Only Robeez. Like sarah, I liked that they are Canadian. Not only that, they are a BC product so they are widely available here.

What shoes do you have? Emma started off with the monkeys in red in 0-6 months, now she has the pink cats and the plum butterflies in 6-12. These ones are finally starting to get small so she will be moving into 12-18 months in the Spring. I already have the pink dragonflies for the Spring but have also been eyeing the new green ones with pink flowers. I just bought thoses as a baby gift for a friend.
How long do you plan on heaving your kids wear them? Until she outgrows the sizes that they make. I agree with Sarah that they are the best shoes for their feet . I have bought Emma some Stride Rite shoes to wear outdoors but she will continue to wear her robeez indoors.

Ohh my gosh, I just went and looked at the new shoes! I love the ice cream cone shoes, the green shoes with pink flowers, air plane shoes, and the blue bumble bee shoes. I just bought janelle blue bumble bee haba brand hair clips and neclace for her Easter basket...and I have a bumble bee shirt from some gymbo line last year...it would look so cute together.

Janelle oohed and ahhed and said "buy it" for every single pair on the garden patch page.

Who else buys the soft shoes for their little ones? Me! :wavey: All 3 boys (the twins are 6 in a few weeks!!) still wear them around the house.

What brands do you have and like? I used to buy Robeez but they upped their price and I wasn't paying the extra anymore and well, I now sell other brands since they won't sell to a WAHM business, I like them all just as well. I have Robeez, Wee Steps and Jack & Lily (note to the Canadian gals - they are ALL Canadian businesses out of BC). I also have a pair of Moss Feet that I love love love. They are Charlie's fav when he picks out his "shoes" in the a.m.

What shoes do you have? Oh - see above!

How long do you plan on heaving your kids wear them: As long as they still fit!

Who else buys the soft shoes for their little ones? Me, just Ava though. I never bought them for Madelynn.

What brands do you have and like? We have 2 pairs of Robeez.

What shoes do you have? We have the pink flower patch ones and the pink dragonfly ones.

How long do you plan on having your kids wear them? I will probably have Ava wear them until she is walking pretty confidently. I love that she can wear them in the house and not slip and fall on the tile floors.

Who else buys the soft shoes for their little ones? Me :)

What brands do you have and like? Robeez, Minnetonka (not really impressed with the Mini Mocs)

What shoes do you have? The girls have black mouse mini mocs and pink kitty robeez. Jacob has a pair of froggie Robeez but have no idea where they are

How long do you plan on heaving your kids wear them? Jacob is almost 3 and if we knew where his were, he would still wear them in the house. The girls are 15 months and they still wear them to daycare on days I know they won't be going outside.

I have the same ones except ours are white with the pink fuzzy hearts on them. We love them - they are Jack and Lily. I will definitely buy another pair when she outgrows these. She wears them all the time - they are great at keeping her socks on. AND, everyone comments on how cute they are.

How long do you plan on heaving your kids wear them? Well, Lexie stopped wearing hers when she grew out of them at about 18 months.
Ben is still wearing his. He'll probably grow out of them by summer. Maybe next fall I'll get him another pair.

Additional Question:
Do you let your children play outside in their soft shoes? Or just indoors?

Additional Question:
Do you let your children play outside in their soft shoes? Or just indoors?
This past fall, when they werent walking and were just cruising, they wore them outside. When we were at Disney, Elliott wore his b/c he didnt have any real shoes yet (and we tried N's on him and he threw a high holy fit!) That sure took its toll on the poor shoes, though!!!
Now he has real shoes and they wear those outside....the snow ismelting, its muddy, wet, etc. Ick -that would ruin the soft shoes and his feet would get wet!!!

Since Sabrina isn't walking yet, she wears them both indoors and for going out. But I suppose when she starts walking, we'll get her a pair of Stride Rites (her Aunt/Godmother wants to buy her first "real" pair of shoes.) But the soft shoes for indoors, for sure, or barefoot. The SR's would only be for outside.

For those of you who have their kids wear them outside (I think of Janelle, sorry Jillian! ) how do they protect their feet on pavement, etc? Or do you carry them into places so they don't walk on the ground? :dunno:

She only wears them outside at home...and only when it is nice outside. When we got to the mall or whatever either one of us carries her or she goes into the stroller, she doesn't walk in the parking lot unless she has real shoes on.

If we go somewhere where we are going to be outside, the park, etc, she wears stride rights, we just don't stay there very long, and we put her shoes on her when we get there and take them off her when we leave.

What shoes do you have? Brown Fur Puppies
http://www.jackandlily.com/0025-05_83X90_jpgs/0025-05_117D.jpg

How long do you plan on heaving your kids wear them? I bought these a bit big (6-12 months) in the hopes that he'd be able to wear them until he starts walking, but with the way he's growing I'm not sure that's gonna happen now. I may buy another pair depending on when he starts to walk. If it's still warm when he starts walking, then I may just let him go barefoot and then get "real" shoes for outside.

Good grief, this is a thread made for me! My name is Sandy and I am a soft shoe addict!

My daughter, Rayna is 15 months. I didn't discover these shoes until she was almost one. Well! I love love love them and have an obnoxious number of pairs. She wears a pair everyday. We have one pair of Wee Steps (Thanks Jennie!) and the rest are Robeez. We had a lot of clothes given to us, so I really don't have to buy those.

Here she is in her 12-18 months pale pink w/ flowers:

In her green daisy wee step shoes (which she is wearing today as well):

In her Canadian Robeez on Christmas morning:

In her ladybug shoes (gift from her aunt)

In her Blue Puppy shoes:

Those are all I could find on shutterfly! In addition, we have 12-18 month yellow chicks, fushia daisy, blue dolphins (gift), purple butterfly - I think that is it!!!! We have the 6-12 month ladybug, canada red, pink bunny and yellow chick that she outgrew. I love them and will keep her in them as long as I can, particularly in the house. We have a lot of tile floors, so it keeps her feet warm and prevents her from slipping. Outside she will tear them up, so I will have to go and get something to wear when she is playing in the yard, etc.

Additional Question:

I'll let Anna play on the grass in her Robeez, but that's it. She has a pair of rubber boots, a pair of runners, and a pair of sandals that she wears in warmer weather. In the winter, she wears boots, obviously.

There was one exception that happened a year ago now. She's a January baby, and learned to walk over the winter, so we didn't have any outdoor shoes for her to wear. One day in Feb. the sidewalks had cleared enough for her to walk outside for the first time, so I let her go out in her Robeez because it was that or nothing. Her feet got wet and cold, but it was worth it for that one time. She was running up and down the sidewalks like she was finally free at last. The next trip to the mall, we bought her some rubber boots. :)

How long do you plan on heaving your kids wear them? I'm not sure. I love having a pair for Ben for around the house. And he just loves them.
Additional Question:

I do let Ben wear his outside - especially to places where he mostly rides in the cart or stroller, the mall, Target, grocery store. They're machine washable and I have had good results with washing them.

I had 2 pair of Robeez for Caroline... really cute purple butterflies that got trashed because she wore them all the time as a new walker, and lady bugs that she didn't trash because once she agreed to wear real shoes, she never went back... Courtney has no interest in walking, so I am not buying her any... I really like the Robeez, but I must confess, and I am a shopper, so this is hard... I think they are a big rip off!! Yes, they are very cute, but they cost so much $$$

Does anyone think the difference between 12-18 and 18-24 months is huge? I got Ava a bigger pair for her bday because her 12-18 ones are getting kind of tight, but when I put the bigger ones on today they were gigantic!

I'm surprised no one has mentined Bobux yet :) Aaron has two pair of soft soled shoes. One is the Robeez Brown Sandal (he wore those last summer obviouslly) and the other is the Bobux Brown Puppy (shown below):

I know I am in the minority here, but I found the Robeez of lesser quality  than the Bobux. I paid the same for both and I just liked the Bobux much better for some reason. I found the leather to be softer and more supple. Also the Robeez were way too tight around Aaron's ankle so I ended up cutting the elastic out and replacing it with my own.

Lynn - I totally agree with you --the Bobux leather is superior, IMO. However, the elastic is too loose for my kids

gianna has 1 pr of bobux (fushia dog) that were a gift, 1 pr of ebay knockoffs (seller shoeszoo) that are purple monkey, and a pr of shooshoos that are tan mocs.

the shooshoos are huge. they are the small and still way too big for her. the bobux are awesome, the leather is great. the knockoff leather is stiff but for $10 i can deal with it, it's not like she's walking. i mainly use them to keep her socks on

i am liking those preschoolians. i have heard of them on the bbb boards.

btw, anyone looking for newborn soft shoes (nocona!) i saw robeez knockoffs in the baby section of target for $4.99!!!!! they had boys and girls styles.

We have one pair of Robeez. They are size 12-18m but they are too small now. They were the purple flower patch. She wore those things all the time! Loved them! We got her some Stride Rite Walkers when they got to small though. I have been thinking about getting her another pair just to wear around the house to keep her socks cleaner :)

I was given a pair of these Hannah Andersson soft shoes/slippers earlier this fall:
http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/s7Style/29509_555.jpg

They were wonderful. They stayed on really well, washed easily and I was so happy with them. Katie was the third child to wear them and the lacing just gave out. All three children wore them to walk outside occasionally, and the bottoms were still in decent condition.

I found a knockoff pair at Target for $5 and they worked pretty well, although they came off more than the HA ones did. I still throw them on her occasionally, and they seem to stay on better for shorter periods of time.

I bought a pair of Wee Steps from Jennie's store and Wiggie just loves them! He always wants to wear his froggy shoes! They're really cute and they washed well. He wears them outside but not in wet stuff (snow or rain).
Another girl's selling me her blue puppy robeez so I'll have to compare them.
I'd certainly buy more!

I agree, I think bobux is higher quality, but both caid and janelle can take them off, and that defeats the purpose for me (well, for caid...Janelle is old enough now that she can take off any sho herself and old enough to listen to me when I tell her to leave them on). Also, I think robeez are just cuter.

I saw the robeez knock offs at target today, I LOVE them, I wish I had a newborn again! For $4 a pair I almost bought them all to put away for incase I ever do have a newborn again, but DH wouldn't let me!

They are still the normal soft shoes, right? They aren't different than normal ones are they? The look the same, just in a sandal style. I still want the soft shoe.

Kim, you seem to be the only one who has Shoo Shoos. What do you think? They are just so cute!

Have you guys checked out Shoo Shoos and Preschoolians? There are some really cute ones.

Here's another one from Shoo Shoos that I really like: (site is down right now though for some reason)

We have the black ballet flats shoo shoos, and though they are still just soft soled shoes, just made to look like ballet slippers. Kincaid has the striped soccer shoo shoos and those are also soft soled, I can say for sure but I'm 99% positive shoo shoos only makes soft soled shoes.

Colleen...neither of my kids have ever worn a hole in their shoes, but Janelle never crawled and caid really didn't crawl much.

Has anyone heard of IsaBooties? All the mom's at my son's playgroup say they are so much better than Robeez because they are made of Ultrasuede which means they don't get all scuffed up and you can machine wash and machine dry them. They also have supper sticky material on the bottom (I don't know if anyone else has noticed the suede bottoms on Robeez get slippery after awhile).

Theie website is www.isabooties.com (http://www.isabooties.com)

Target has robeez knock offs right now that are amazingly similar, they have blue puppies and brown lions for boys and pink cupcakes and darker pink kitties for girls. They come in 0-6 through 18-24 months, but holding the 12-18 month lion ones we got last night up to a pair of 18-24 month robeez flower shoes they are the same size, so you might want to size down with these. They are 12.99, I'm watching for a clearance so I can buy more!

I saw those knockoffs at Target yesterday after reading your post! I'm gonna have to talk DH into getting the lion ones... :tongue2: Dunno if he'll go for that, he thinks shoes like these look "gay". :disbelief
We have a pair of 12-18mo Robeez, his first, as DS#2 currently crawls mostly and is learning to walk. He wears them everywhere (barefoot at home). My 18mo niece who lives on a farm wears hers everywhere too. Nobody I know had ever mentioned any other shoes than Robeez, although there is a little 18mo girl at church that's always dressed at the height of fashion who has Bobux. Glad to know they're good quality, they have a few designs I like. Has anyone tried Pedoodles??? http://www.pedoodles.com/ They look so awesome but I'd hate to buy them without knowing if they're any good, looks like competition for the Preschoolians.

Oh, thanks Sarah for the link to those IsaBooties, they are soooo adorable, I may have to try to get a pair soon!

I have 2 pair of real Robeez for Courtney and just got her the Target knock offs... we got the kitty cat ones. All are size 6-12 months, but the Target ones are definitely a bit bigger. They seem to really be exactly the same, except Robeez has a much bigger selection. For $12.99 if Target had a bigger selection, I'd probably pick up a few more.

Here’s a list from my favorites. I don’t know if it’s all of them, but it’s what I’ve found.

I like to keep a pair that can be worn outside, then I don’t care if they get dirty, but otherwise I keep my cute stuff for inside only.

I only listed the country on some of the ones you may not have heard of.

I’m a shoe freak, along with just being freaky in general.

My daughter is 2 and we love her Robeez! She's going through an obsessive shoe phase, wants to wear them all the time, even in the bath and to bed...so the robeez come in handy because she can wear them to bed!..and all day. Thank goodness for good 'ol jelly gap sandals... those she can wear in the tub when she 'finds necessary'...stubborn thing!
But we also like Bear Feet Shoes! They are so soft and cushy, I wish they made them in my size! She's already gone through quite a few pairs of those!..and will go through more I'm sure

Resurrecting this thread. Here's another vendor to add, hanabear.com. I just posted a M2M she's made for Janie and Jack's Winter Songbird in the J&J thread:

I ordered several new pair for Ahna for Christmas, and the first just arrived, from Cute Baby Shoes. They are adorable.
http://www.cutebabyshoes.com/images/products/maryjanesm.jpg Sorry this is pic is tiny, the bigger one they have is tooo big.

They are Mary Janes and you know my fetish for Mary Janes. It's because my mother never bought me girly stuff and forced me to wear plaid purple and green toughskins from Sears. Scarred for Life.

I'm glad you like the ones from Cute Baby Shoes! I just ordered my first wholesale order and I was hoping these would be popular. :)

Jennie, where are you selling them? Online? They have some cute ones... I almost ordered the bumble bee style, but didn't. Maybe later!

Yep - I sell them in my online store. I ordered the bumble bees for my best friend's daughter. This order, I mostly got their boots but my next order will be for more shoes for sure.

Lauren has so many pair of Robeez! I love them! I am the same as Bridget. I have some for outdoor and some for indoor. I have tried others besides Robeez and I just don't think they are as soft.

So Bridget, did you try the ones from Cute Baby Shoes? The ones that Jennie is selling in her store? I may try those if they are soft.

Jennie...I want some ballet slipper shoes...but I can't even remember what brand they were...I remember talking about them in your journal. Anyway, if you have them, or plan on ordering more soon, or could just tell me where to get them, I'd love ya!

Dori, they seem just as soft as Robeez to me. The particular pair I bought I love because they have a velcro closure - nice to get Ahna's foot in the shoe. If I didn't know they weren't Robeez, I'd never know the difference. They come in a "gossamer" type baggie. Basically a little soft bag. I love that.

As you know I have no life  so I've looked at pretty much every soft baby shoe manufactured. I fantasize about a life as a children's clothing designer (really) so I really enjoy this crap.

Anyway, the other two I've got on the way are from joshoes and liljos (not the same place). Then I'm going to order some hanabears. I'll let you know how they are.

I just received the pair I ordered from Bobux and WOW!!! Unbelievably soft! I sadly returned the two pair of Preschoolians I had ordered, so disappointed in their quality and customer service. I haven't tried the Bobux on Catherine yet, crossing fingers :crossfing:BTW searching the web for info on soft shoes is what led me to OUAL! Thanks all for the great info, I wouldn't have known to even look for Bobux if it hadn't been for you!

Well, I just love soft sole shoes for my dd. It's not because I make them, I liked them before I had my own business. It's the only type of shoe my dd will keep on. My dd will wear regular shoes for about 1 minute! I plan for her to wear them for as long as I can make the decisions for for her. I've been making some styles with rubber soles so, those come in handy for rainy, muddy days. When it's nice out she wears the suede bottom ones outdoors to the park or playground without any problems. I went to someones house the other day and their dd had not started walking yet at 16 months old. She seemed ready, but in the house they had these awful hard Elmo sneakers on her. The poor girl probably would have walked last month if they took off those terrible shoes. How could she get her balance in those things? More people need to catch on! :heee:

I didn't know about Robeez with Hannah, so she never had any, which is a shame because our apt. had all hardwood floors, and she walked early, and was always slipping. I would have to put gripper socks on her over tights, and they would only keep her from slipping some of the time. I got Chloe some Robeez when she was a newborn, to keep her socks on her feet and keep her feet warm, and I LOVED them! She had the floppy eared bunny ones, so cute. I had to get 6-12 months because my girls never have newborn sized feet  She wore those until they were too small (and learned to crawl in them!), and then I got her 12-18 month Mini-star (Target $12.99 knock-off version of Robeez) in the cupcake design...I LOVE them. They are great, and such a bargain. They do run big, they were a little big on her for a while, but she grew into them quickly and they fit her great. She just learned to walk in them! She wears them all the time, we only have the one pair, so she wears them inside, outside, everywhere, everyday. I really should get her a second pair. :)

Hi Jillian!

What size is she wearing these days? Are these the ones you are wanting? They come in white leather or pink as shown up to a size 3-4. I will probably be ordering in early Feb if you want a pair. I can get any of the ones you see on their site (and that goes for anyone).

Hey Hanabearshoes - I've talked to you on GR before. We talked a lot about your blue leather shoes you make and sell that match WS from Janie and Jack. I think I even posted them here in the J&J column. Somewhere anyway. :wavey:

Hi Bridget!

I am a fan of Robeez, sign me up. :ura1: At first I found out about this brand in the Alan and Denise Fields book, something like "Baby bargains". Then I checked the site.

Then came the winter and our floors were cold and the house seemed to be cold. My son was about 7 months then, did not walk yet but when he was crawling he always was loosing his socks. I bought some Robeez and was excited about their washability and quality. They do stay on the feet! Plus, even after you use them they always go high price on eBay.

But I have had some problems putting them on the very first time, just seemed to be complicated.

Right now I DO choose some with the dark sole (I have had beige color shoes, he just started to walk and it was May... They did not last long, these shoes, the beige. From now on I get dark soled colors.

But I simply like them. I like when people ask "where did you get these cute shoes?". Some don't ask, they just point-"I like Robeez, thanks heavens for them, the kid can't kick them out!" (some experienced mothers  ).

Right now my son is almost two and we use Robeez indoors (once they were really helpful when we rented a house for vacation with some ceramic floors). So, they are like the slippers now, not really the shoes, but slippers for the house.

Who else buys the soft shoes for their little ones? I do

What brands do you have and like? Robeez is all I have ever had.

What shoes do you have? Have had cream color simple classic shoes, monkey shoes (blue), tuxedo shoes (they were on sale), dolphin shoes and a new ones, with the crab. But I did own them, keep maybe a first pair and I have sold the used ones on eBay (they were in a great condition since we use them only at home as a slippers)

How long do you plan on heaving your kids wear them? Till he refuses to wear them. I guess he will do it around 4 years old or so.
