What clothes do you put on your child for daycare/preschool?
Gymbo clothes are pretty much fair game for preschool for me- the way I look at it, we don't go to many special events to save these good clothes for. I can also justify paying more for the clothes if she gets a lot of wear out of them. I'd rather get good wear before she outgrows the good stuff!
Yesterday, Lauryn wore these:

The other kids at her preschool come pretty dressed up too so I don't think she stands out too much.

I usually send them in cheaper stuff.... ie Target, Old Navy, TCP, JCPenney etc.
My daughter is always making some craft that involves paint and it's not uncommon for her to come home with paint on her belly or sleeves. I know she's also not the neatest eater.
Once in a while I'll send her in a plain shirt/leggins from Gymboree, but that's about it. I prefer to save the nicer stuff for weekends with mommy, or Tuesdays and Thursdays with the IL's. :)

Like Lette, I try not to - ever since the first time wearing her Hide and Seek striped shirt and blue leggings came home with green paint all over the sleeves and stomach! Luckily most of it came out, but still..... So we save Gymbo clothes for weekends or non-school-days, and wear Target or Sears or whoever else on Mondays and Wednesdays. :)

I send Aidan to preschool in his nice clothes. I have no other occasion to show him off  And so far, the paint comes out of everything that he's gotten it on.

Right now, the boys are just in an in-home daycare three days a week and they come home quite dirty most days (wearing their lunch on their shirts) so they wear their stuff from Old Navy, Target and the like. Once they are in a bigger daycare setting their clothes may change, but for now, the good clothes are for the weekends with me, or when my MIL (who stays with them 2 days a week) wants to put them on. I'm pretty anal about keeping their good clothes in really good condition :blush1:

We don't put anything nice on them to go to daycare because they usually get dirty. One day when I picked them up Frances was out on the playground sitting in a mud puddle as happy as a clam. These days pretty much all Joe wants to wear are shirts with Wiggles, Bob the Builder or Nemo and sweatpants anyway.

I'll dress her in both nicer expensive clothes and 'regular-but-not-so-expensive nice' clothes too. She goes to school wearing anything from a 2 piece sweat suit to expensive J-Lo jeans and shirt. I just won't do skirts with tights or anything complicated like that....only because of the potty training factor. They encourage you to not dress your kids in onsies or tights, etc...anything that makes it harder for them to get undressed if they have to go. Which I can certainly understand that, but every now and then she will go to school with a onsie or whatever. I'm not gonna kill myself over it.
She has gotten paint on her sleeves and has gotten other foreign things on her shirt, but there's nothing that a little Zout spray can't get out!

in fall/winter/spring tony wears sweats 80% of the time to daycare  with long or s/s tees. i am getting my money's worth out of those old navy sweats i tell ya.
if he was in preschool i might put him in jeans more i think.
gianna wears anything that's not gymbo or an outfit i really really like.

So does Aden, Kim - those things have held up pretty good :aok:
And I agree about putting them in jeans when they are in preschool

I never shop at Gymboree so Old Navy, Children's Place or Target is the garb of choice. There are days Alex comes home wearing lunch, paint or glue on his shirts, but so far everything has come out. He has a good mix of sweats and jeans. I just hope I have something clean that matches.

For preschool/daycare, my girls wear either TCP, Target, or Old Navy clothes. For every other occasion, though, I dress them in the nicer clothes.

I don't dress Jack in anything too nice for preschool unless they're having a party. I usually send him in sweats, track pants or jeans & sweatshirts & long sleeve t-shirts. They don't use smocks at school and I want him to be comfortable as well.

Well, since we also don't buy "expensive" clothes like Gymboree stuff, Rebekah wears the same clothes at home and school.
We must go to a really neat school because she has never once come home with paint on her and she rarely comes home with food on her.
