I've been dying for Naartjie too but the thing that puts me off, besides the cost, is having to order from stores, no online orders. It just seems to be a pain. But they are just so cute and I love how everything can mix and match!

I have been admiring naartjie but the having to order from the stores really puts me off as well. It seems like a hassel especailly since I am in Canada. I tried to win a few things on ebay but no luck so far.

I'd never heard of that line, but I took a look. Most of it is really cute. I didn't really like the dresses, but I did like most of the rest of it. :)

Nicole, there are stores somewhat near you, aren't there? I know there's one near my mom (in the Sacramento area). I think there are some further south as well. :dunno:

As for me, I LOVE the looks of these clothes, and am planning to send my mom on a shopping trip for Katie sometime soon. I don't actually think they're that expensive - less than Gymboree's regular prices, right? I've been eyeing them for months now, and just biding my time until my mom's schedule calmed down a little so I could send her to shop for me.

Those clothes kinda remind me of European clothes. Interesting name. Where are they made?

kim
February 7th, 2005, 10:34 PM
they're a south african brand, i don't know where the clothes are made though.

karri you order from the stores . you can call or email them.

I've bought from Naartjie. Cute stuff- not terribly expensive either. But it's such a pain to shop because you can't buy off the website. If the stuff is on the sale page, you'll have to call or email the stores yourself. You have to call/email your order.

I liked the stuff I got for Lauryn but from seeing other posts from the BBB, their sizes tend to be inconsistent.

Ebay has a bunch of Naartjie stuff too- and I they're definitely not as popular as Gymboree so you can actually get things without getting into bidding wars.

Thanks for the offer JennP!

Oh, another gripe that I have-- the Naartjie website is so difficult to navigate and their lines (names and colors) are so difficult to figure out-- makes for difficult shopping.

We have one very close and I bought a ton of stuff at their recent sale... It was possibly the best clothing sale I have ever been to... The clothes were at rockbottom prices and then an additional 40% off that, so I stocked up on stuff for my girls, as in short sleeve shirts for Courtney in about 8 colors in 12-18 and 18 -24 months for about $2.00 each! Sweatshirts for $4 each... long sleeve shirts for Caroline, reduced from $16 to about $5... I think it is kind of unique looking stuff which is a nice break from Gymboree, Gap and Old Navy.

Yeah, I was so close but so far away! I was in LA a few weeks ago for an unofficial HS reunion and we had dinner in Glendale- right across the street from the Glendale Galleria where there is a Naartjie store. I was in LA only for 24 hours and I decided not to go to the mall (I'm really regretting that though!)

kim

i ordered the dress above on wednesday and got it on friday. i love it! we (my 15yr old niece and i. i've hooked her on baby fashion  ) tried it on gianna yesterday. it is totally adorable! BUT it does run short....maybe because most people put leggings underneath? i know gianna is tall for her age but i put the naartjie dress up against a gymbo dress in the same size and the gymbo is over an inch longer.

so i've got a loopie looking for the matching pants for me today  i'm outta control.

Lyndee
February 14th, 2005, 12:36 PM
Kim- their dresses do run short and that's why you must buy the leggings! Their sizing is all over the place sometimes. I got Lauryn some size 2T jeans that are just huge (and I have a big kid!)

SO I made it to the Naartjie in Sacramento, Arden Fair Mall, and it was wonderful!! I limited myself to 3 outfits for Addy and 2 dresses for Abby the first day but then we went back and I decided to buy outfits for Easter there since I was so unimpressed with the Easter stuff at Gymbo. I was going to post pics but the site is down.

I did happen to meet their webmaster when I was in the store and gave her my opinion on what's wrong with the site and they're working on making it easier to navigate. Still no plans for online ordering though...

Okay, this thread is a big reason why I wanted to be able to post again! I discovered Naartjie last fall (I'm betting the same place as Kim did...BBB?), and fell in love! Honestly, I thought that the calling the stores to order would be a pain, but it was really okay! They were *so* easy to deal with, and I had *no* issues having anything shipped to Canada! I didn't have anything I wanted in particular, so asked them to send stuff in the colours I liked, and gave them the sizes that I figured the girls would be this spring/summer coming (this was their end-of-season clearance, so there wasn't a ton of stuff left). I picked it up at the house the other day (left it there over the winter), and I still love it! I can't wait to have their pictures taken in it!

And, Teagan wore a Naartjie dress/capris set for her Christening in October. I know it's not a traditional Christening out, but she was also 18 months old at the time. And, I loved it! And their stuff really is *so* soft!

Let's see if I remember how to do pictures (they aren't great, but you'll get an idea at least!)...

Top of dress...
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b4ce11b3127cce9c7bc4b8c8fd00000046118QZuGLZu4aS

Bottom of dress and capris (with a poncho thingy that she wanted to wear)...
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b4ce11b3127cce9c7bc4a6c8e300000046118QZuGLZu4aS

I'm pretty sure that this was an 18-24M size, and she could easily wear it again this spring/summer (it'll never be this white again though!)...that's the beauty of the dress/pants/capris thing!

And, hey, I ended up with two of these outfits (two different stores), so if anyone is interested, let me know...one is NWT.

I got got Norah her first Naartjie outfit, as well ('poppies' dress in fluffy with calf-length pants that have ruffles on the bottom in ribbon). She wore it in one of her 18 mo pics. As soon as we get them, I will have to post a photo. I got it in 18-24 months b/c I read the dresses ran small and she def. has lots of room to grow in it!

karri i was waiting for you to post!

I just ordered from Naartjie for Katie, Marcus and Mia. I got the Poppy Flower Poplin Dress in white for Katie (big girls): http://www.naartjie.homestead.com/saleitems/girlkidsaleitems.html

And for Mia (baby girls): http://www.naartjie.homestead.com/saleitems/girlbabysaleitems.html

And for Marcus, I got the Treatment Tee with Skater Embroidery and the Cracker Pocket Overall. : http://www.naartjie.homestead.com/saleitems/boybabysaleitems.html

I tried to copy the pictures, but it didn't work, so the links are just to the sale pages. The prices on the sale stuff are AMAZING! Way better than I've seen on ebay. Check it out!

i've been picking up last year's winter stuff for months now. besides the above i have:

bellabloom dress in orange
bellabloom dress in cliff
butterfly dress, pants and shirt in butter
tye dye dress in guava
vertical stripe tye dye shirt in raspberry/orange and raspberry leggings. seller threw in m2m bows too! so damn cute.

Karri ~ Great minds think alike! I have to say that I like the cut of the baby girls dress better than the big girls, but what can you do?

Kim ~ I LOVE that picture of Gianna! Too cute! Someday she's going to kill you for that bow, though! Where are you getting all of your Naartjie stuff? Everytime I check ebay, things are selling for more than what I'd pay if I just ordered from the store. :dunno: Since Katie is WAY bigger than Gianna, you won't be hurting your supply if you let me in on your secret!

June 9th, 2005, 10:55 PM
anne, i am a pro at searching ebay, don't forget at the bottom of your search results to click 'see buy it now items in stores'. i have found a few things there, like a muslin dress for summer for like $6 (orange tye dye. see a pattern with me yet?). i check multiple times a day and i sort by new listings first.

i got one of the bellabloom dresses, the tye dye dress in guava and the set in the pic on ebay. i got the vertical tye dye set, a bellabloom dress on GR when the bst was open. and i got the butterfly stuff on the loops as a set.

i started buying the winter stuff in like feb..so i got good deals cuz everyone else was looking for spring/summer stuff.

AahRee

Smart! I think that way when I sell (I'm sitting on a ton of Gymbo stuff that I won't list until fall because it's all cool weather stuff) but I forget to do the reverse for when I shop. :duh: I'll have to check the ebay stores, too. I never think to do that.

'loops' are yahoo groups! like strollerswap but for clothing nutjobs like myself. i belong to 20 different loops from diaper bags to naartjie and gymbo.

go to yahoo groups and search on naartjie. some of the bigger loops are capped but you can still apply. if you need a referral, send me a pm.

How do the leggings for under the dresses run size wise?

Jillian
June 14th, 2005, 03:53 PM
One more question. If I really like something I see on E-bay how much in general should a dress/bloomers set go for? (in 12-18 or 18-24...I don't remember what size it was)

gulp!
June 14th, 2005, 05:03 PM
I just emailed in my first ever Naartjie order. I'm so digging their clothes, and I shopped their sale stuff, so I got 7 things for just over $50! Nothing was more than $9.99, though I was tempted by a dress that was $15 and a pair of pants that were only $12. Good thing Emma already has a full closet!

I didn't see anything on sale for Krishan, but I'll have to check back on the boys stuff this fall.

I'm so excited to try this stuff on Emma! I have no idea about sizing, though. Hopefully it'll be generally true to size.

Maybe not, Kim. They only had 2 of the 7 items I ordered, and they were the 2 I liked least. I'm wondering if I should email a different store? I emailed Glendale.

kim
June 14th, 2005, 10:38 PM
i would call stoneridge. i believe they are the biggest store, hence more inventory.

Karri
June 14th, 2005, 10:41 PM
Stef - when I emailed Arden Fair, I said that if they didnt have it, I wanted them to check their other stores and let me know if they had it. I also asked them to suggest other things to me if they didnt have what I wanted. I had wanted some mid calf pants and they didnt have them, but they had some other ones that went w/ the dress that never occurred to me that they would look good together. KWIM? And they were on clearnace, too.

AahRee
June 14th, 2005, 11:12 PM
The lady at the Arden Fair store that I worked with was really helpful. I basically called and told her I wanted matching dresses for the girls, and I wanted her to find a coordinating outfit for the boy, all in sale stuff, and she did it, no problem, walking all around the store to put together outfits and then telling me the names of the pieces so I could see them online while we were talking. If you have trouble finding what you need, definitely call that store. :) My mom and sister live near enough to drive to it and they've never gone - can you believe that? :complain: You'd think they'd at least go and shop for ME! :disbelief

AahRee

Oh, and about the fall transition line - who decided to name a color *clot*? :puke:

kim
June 15th, 2005, 08:15 AM
clot was a color in last year's fall lines as well. it's an off white i think.

the new trans line is partially up on the website. i'm not bowled over that's for sure. i may get something when it gets marked down though

AahRee
June 15th, 2005, 06:07 PM
Don't get me wrong, the color itself is cute, but clot??? :wtf: were they thinking?

I'm not bowled over by the transition line, either, but that's probably a good thing!

gulp!
June 15th, 2005, 07:54 PM
I emailed Glendale back and asked if they would be willing to call other stores or if I should email my list to the other stores. I also asked if they had a particular shirt in any other color. No answer from them yet. :( If I haven't heard from them by tomorrow, I'll call or email Arden Fair. Thanks for the tips, ladies!

Ok, does anyone have an actual naartjie near them? I really like some of the newer stuff, but am confused on how to order it... :blush1: I also need to know how they run...I really like one of the girl dresses, but the smallest size is a 3...

kim
July 25th, 2005, 03:06 PM
jillian,

pretty much all the naartjie stores ship now! all you do is call them up (or email) and place an order, they ship priority. they have bg sizes but the designs are not always exactly the same.

how they run really depends on each individual item. they are notorious for being all over the place. judging by what you've posted of janelle in gymbo she'd likely be in 18-24 in naartjie.

i'm waiting for a sale before i order any of the new line. i am for sure getting the new striped essentials.

Dawn
July 25th, 2005, 03:14 PM

It looks like they're all in California! One in AZ and another in OH, I think.

I gotta check out their new stuff....and see if I like it. :)

So with all this talk about Naartjie, Lauryn decided she'll wear her Naartjie dress today.

I got it on sale a while back. It's cute but it's one of those dresses that would look much better with leggings underneath. It's on the short side but she refused to wear anything else!

Jillian
July 25th, 2005, 04:32 PM
So, using one of the things I want as an example...I'd just call up any store and tell them this info then they'd ship it to me? Why don't they have online ordering???

Hmm, so there is no way a size 3 will fit huh? How often do they have sales? I like the bird dress in baby girl and the above dress in girls...plus the matching pants to go underneath both.

Have you ordered the soft-soled shoes before? Just wondering if they run similar in size to Robeez.

kim
July 25th, 2005, 04:56 PM
that's pretty much it

i am thinking the 3 will be huge. they tend to run large and they are preshrunk.

i've never bought the soft shoes. gianna doesn't wear shoes .

oh hey, i saw robeez knockoffs at payless yesterday for $12.99 boys and girls.

Just a question-- have you guys had luck with Naartjie sizing? I hear people complain all the time about Gymbo sizing but I got a pair of Naartjie jeans in a 2T and they are HUGE!!!! Lauryn wears at least a 3 on Gymbo.

I look at some of the other message boards and it seems like Naartjie is such a guessing game when it comes to sizes. Anyone have good luck with this?

Hmmm....so Kim, what size in Gianna in (now vs. for fall?) I LOVE that New Rose outfit she is wearing that you posted a ways back...she is too cute! For some reason I always thought "spring/summer" when I thought of Naartjie stuff but
duh, they obviously have fall/winter lines too! :silly:

Here's the Naartjie dress Lauryn had on today. Looking at the pic, I guess it's not as short as I thought!

So cute Lyndee! :)

What size is that dress?

Lyndee
July 26th, 2005, 01:01 AM
It's a 2T. They were out of the leggings so I just got the dress. Last Spring, I was able to talk her into wearing pink leggings underneath because it was just way too cold. I also got the matching socks and hair thingies. It's such as soft and comfy dress.

Cool, Lyndee! I must check out their stuff...its been a while that I went on the site.

And btw, what are you still doing up girl? Don't ya have work tomorrow????

kim
July 26th, 2005, 08:08 AM
i love that dress lyndee, i have it for gianna (with matching pants and the shirt) in the 'butter' color.

kath - right now gianna would wear 12-18 in naartjie. the outfit i just mentioned, the dress and pants are 12-18 but the shirt is 18-24. i bought it as a lot on the loops  last spring when girls were clearing out their winter stuff. i plan to buy some new line in 12-18 as well (i have quite a bit of last year's winter lines in 18-24 already)

so although she's wearing 12-18 gymbo right now i think she'll still be in that size say thru october, maybe november.

have i posted the old lines links? i will in a min.

I was introduced to Naartjie a few months ago. I absolutely love it for my son Airen. Even my hubby likes shopping at the outlet here in AZ with no complaints. Of course we are still trying to figure out the sizing. Airen is 31 pounds and 35 inches tall. We bought 18-24 month shorts that are way too big in the waist and have a pair in 12-18 month which are too tight. We can't seem to find a happy medium in the shorts but a simple tuck in the back waist band seems to help. The 2T shirts fit him well. This line of clothes washes up great and for boys has a great variety.

One more question. If I really like something I see on E-bay how much in general should a dress/bloomers set go for? (in 12-18 or 18-24...I don't remember what size it was)
I would like to know this answer as well, because..............

Lookie, lookie what I won!!!! :yippee:

yay dawn!!!!

naartjie seems to be going high right now, when i bought i'd pay up to $20 incl. ship for a set. i tend to buy in the off season to get deals , i bought most of what's on my above list back in late winter, early spring when people were getting rid of winter stuff.

Dawn
August 2nd, 2005, 09:22 AM
Thanks Kim. :) Anyway, I bought that set for $18.75....($21.75 incl. shipping).

Now, as for this one:

http://members.sparedollar.com/resize.aspx?user=pretzelboys&img=2005_0710july1010014.JPG&size=200

I put my high bid at $25.00, and someone outbidded me....it's up to $26.00 now (and mind you, it's from a bidder with ZERO feedback  ), and it ends in 7 hrs.

I usually bid right when it's close to ending but I put a bid in last night in fear that I wouldn't be home or would forget by the time it ended...so I wanted to get some bid in.

got the shadowcheck set (in butter) in the mail today. i was told this runs huge and it does. this is the 12-18 , her size right now in gymbo and other clothes. this dress is enormous! the pants i believe are supposed to be more like bloomers but they are pants now .she'll wear it straight thru to may around here.

i love it btw.

Question for you guys--

How is the newborn stuff running?

Brandon is 22 lbs and maybe 27 inches (we don't know-- DH took him for his check up and didn't get the full stats!)

I'm liking the KNIT YARN DYE TEAL STRIPE shirt with the matching pants. Do you think he can wear a 6-12 months? This is to wear now- for the house. I need some soft pants and LS tops so he doesn't get carpet burn when he crawls.

TIA!

That's so cute!!!

It's 11:30 p.m. I just got off the phone with Naartjie at Arden Fair. DH looked at the clock and asked me where these people are that I talk to. He was wondering if they were in South Africa or something.

And oh, the other night when I was playing around with the URLs to find the lines that they hadn't linked yet (it was Kim's idea  ), DH looked at me and said You people are crazy!!

Kim - HOw long before prices go down? (in this case, on Fall 2)?

Sandy - You sure did get a good price on that! Good deal, and it's adorable!

The raspberry Butterfly set came in yesterday! The one w/ the striped pants and butterfly dress (the pics are taken off the auction already). I LOVE it! The pants do run long...they are 18-24 mo. and the dress is a 3. NWT! Can't wait to try it on Alexia!

Sandy

Does anyone know if the leggings run big? I see lots of 18-24 dresses w/ 12-18 leggings????

Sandy
August 21st, 2005, 08:03 PM
Oh, based on Dawn's post, I guess so??????

Dawn
August 21st, 2005, 09:02 PM
Yes Sandy, I believe the leggins do run big. Kim would know if all styles of the leggins do....I'm assuming yes. Alexia would normally be in a size 3 for length, and the outfit we won the leggins were 18-24 mos. like I said, and it just fits her...it may even be a hair too short. A size 2 leggins she would have gotten more use out of though, and is what I'll be looking for next time. Now I know.. :) The dress that went with it is a 3, btw. :) HTH!

kim

sandy i think you got that set so cheap because they are from different lines. the dress is boho but the pants are definately holland flower.

naartjie sizing is all over the place. you can't make a general statement that the pants run big, sometimes they run small! i get my sizing info from the girls on my other board who buy tons of naartjie. i bought gianna all 12-18 the other day based on their recommendations. i'll give a report once i get them :)

It is waaay all over the place! People complain all the time about how Gymbo is so inconsistent with sizing- but I haven't really found Gymbo to be THAT inconsistent (in fact, I really have had very little problems). But I read about the folks at the BBB who are getting 12-18 anywhere from their <1 to 2T kids!

Wow, I didn't know that the sizing was all over the place like that. How's their return policies? I think for now I'll stick w/ size 3 dress/tops for Alexia and size 2 for the bottoms, and keep my fingers crossed  . For Ang....6-12 mos. We'll see how that goes...

I printed out all the Fall 2 line pages so I can see what things I want to match up (ok, I'm a dork! ) with each other. I hope to place an order by this week!!

Nicole, that's great! I'm waiting on one more NWT outfit to come in from ebay (the tye dye one)...and I can't wait! I plan on putting an order in for the Fall 2 line....and I hope I guestimate good as far as the sizes go. :crossfing:

I'll let you know for sure what outfits I'm considering after I get it together (i have the pages printed out...I'm still trying to decide on what bottoms to get w/ what, etc.) but I do like the Tie Dye crochet heart stuff (trying to decide if I should get the shirt vs the dress), and I'll probably also get them a basic set like a yarn dye striped outfit. The hearts print stuff is cute too. So we'll see.....

You have a store by you? Lucky! There's absolutely no stores here on the east coast!!! I would love it if there were. That's good to know that you liked the stuff in person too.

Well, I got my order and they didn't take 15% off my order even though I said HEARTS over the phone.

But what's really disappointing is that all the 6-12 month clothes I got for Brandon are all too small! I was hoping they'd run big like everything else they have.

And 2 out of the 3 outfits that I got were not made in South Africa anymore. They're made in China.

Lyndee....man, that sucks...both about the 'hearts' code and about the sizing. :blue:

I got Alexia's Holland Flower tye die outfit in the mail the other day from ebay (NWT!) and the pants is size 3 and the dress is size 18-24 mos. which fits her!! It's adorable!

Dori, those pants are flannel! definately NOT for summer. they are the shadowcheck flannel pants from the butterfly line. i do not recognize the top at all but i'm pretty sure it is not from the same line.

lyndee - yes, a lot of the stuff is being made in china now. i think this stuff is, i'd have to check the tags.

these are fall trans. everything is 12-18, she is at least 30in tall and over 21lbs (that was her weight 3m ago). i got a major deal on these because they were ordered from the outlet in AZ and a girl on another board picked them up. so i got 25% off then an additional 15%.

applique top and welt pants in clot. welt pants are long, i will have to roll the waist but they will fit all winter.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b96/beni32/Dsc00031.jpg

applique top and nec raw pants in sage. these are actually capris which i didn't know when i ordered them. still really cute.

Kim~ I can't see your pics
Dori~ The pants are crops, both of my girls have them. They would work for fall or spring but not fall.

So we finally got Addy's Bella Bloom outfit yesterday and I won one for Abby so that should be coming soon. I also got Addy's shadow check outfit in the mail. I'm in love!! I'm going to try to do a fashion show during my days off...

Sandy

Dori, I had that outfit on my watch list, but didn't bid. I think it is adorable!!!

Kim, I have now been paying closer attention to listings and I see a lot of them w/ mismatched lines together. The outfits still look good, but they do have different lines. I love seeing these clothes on G.

I got the outfit I won last week. I haven't tried it on her yet, but it is very cute and soft.

Dori
August 28th, 2005, 03:10 PM
Okay, she did list in the auction that the top and bottom were from two different lines. And the pants will work for summer in Ireland!! ;)

The girls wore their fall 2 outfits yesterday and they ran pretty big, the waists were HUGE!! And the sleeves were quite long. The worst part is that the leggings for Abby are pretty short, they just reach her ankle. I'll have to get a picture of them in the outfits, they look cute, just big.

kim
October 17th, 2005, 09:52 AM
i haven't bought any naartjie since fall trans due to the all over the freaking place sizing lately.

for example, i bought the quirky striped applique top in sage and clot. both 12-18 fit perfect. i have the welt pants in 12-18...huge. very long and big in waist. also got the nec rosette fleece pants. pants? they are for sure capris  i posted pics of them about a page back.

a girl on another board sold me the same shirt in 2t (lily)...just a tad big! she wore it yesterday! and the striped quirky pants in 18-24...fit almost same as 12-18.

i think i am done with them for now (although i really really want the tye dye dress. i may get one for next fall since G doesn't need another dress).

Velour and Netting Handwork Skirt in Bluebell
Velour and Netting Handwork Dress in China
NEC Raw Rosette Fleece Pants in Bluebell, Flower, and Retro
and maybe (they didn't confirm these)

That last one, the long sleeve velour leaf tunic.. that is what Brookelyn has on.. the color on the website looks very red, but hers is more maroon.. but I didn't see maroon on htere.. so maybe hers is the cherry.. don't know.. We have the matching pants too.. Thats the outfit in the pic from today. I love it and wish I'd have bought it in more colors! You'll love the little velour jacket!!! We have a red and a blue from this spring that are corduroy with the fuzzy inside. Brookelyn wears them ALL of the time!! Theyre adorable!

If I may know, which store was that? They probably can't sell the new stuff yet because they want it to be displayed first.. Maybe? Haha.. I can't blame you for being that excited though.

They had almost NOTHING on their shelves except for stuff in plastic packaging still! So maybe they should have been closed! It was one of the stores in Sherman Oaks,CA (at the Fashion Square Mall).
This is the 2nd time we've had a sh*tty customer service experience there! When we were Xmas shopping at the store in the Glendale Galleria (CA) one of the girls was being REALLY rude to everyone! This guy was buying a TON of stuff and wanted to add some shoes, the lady said she'd already run his cc and couldn't add them. He said, well I want to buy them. She said, I'd have to cancel the whole thing and do it again and you could tell her was irritated by then! (I would have been) And he said, Ok do it then. And she said 'Oh yeah, make us work a little longer tonight man!' LOL!! She said that really loud to! Everyone in the store was looking at her, if I hadn't been so desperate for my stuff I'd have left right then after I told her how rude she was! She wasn't too bad when she rang us up, but she didnt say hi, bye or thank you!!!! She was a total B*tch!!!! I've been telling DH that I'm going to email Naartjie and complain, but ahven't had the time to actually do it!!

zen
January 22nd, 2006, 02:31 AM
WOW that is rude.. I didn't think it would be that bad. If you're really dissatisfied with their service, then maybe you should email a complaint. It will give them a chance to realize their mistakes and better themselves.

AmyP
January 22nd, 2006, 08:10 AM
You definitely should complain. Working retail around Xmas is tough, but it doesn't mean you should be rude! Besides, why on earth couldn't she just run his CC again for the other purchases as a separate sale? We do it all the time at Gymboree!

Too bad your stuff isn't in our size. My mom and I are bidding on crap like mad and it's all going pretty high (although from what I've researched I should say it is selling for fairly typical prices...). I paid like $30 for my set - seems like most sets I'm bidding on in the 12-24 mo. range are going for $15-20?

What do you think a typical set might sell for? I guess like anything it's all about the size.

I'm guessing on sizes too. I know Naartjie sizing is weird, so I'm kind of trusting what the seller says about how it fits/runs. We'll see.

Here's another set I'm wanting. Ahna would look so cute in that!

hmm..i think that little girl's mom is on my gymbo board . $30 is not that bad for new rose. totally worth it too...i loved G's set.

i would NOT pay a lot on ebay for summer naartjie however. no no no!!! for one, it goes on sale WAY before summer and you can get it cheap right from the store especially if you are buying small sizes.

that's my naart nugget of the day.

Hey everyone. I am TOTALLY new to this site. I am a Naartjie Addict I tell ya! I just started buying it this month during the big year end sale and I have a HUGE load of clothes on the way. Stuff from the winter and holiday lines. I can't wait to get it all!

I am sorry that one of you has had bad CS at a couple of the stores. Because I do all my ordering over the phone or email, I have to say that I have had GREAT wonderful service! I think that's because the managers do the phone and email orders.

Because I ordered so much sale stuff, I am IMPATIENTLY waiting for the Dragonfly line to go on sale. I really want to order the dress and pants and the tie dye dress..but I must wait.

Apparently the new spring line will be up tomorrow. I am way too excited.

I have looked on Ebay and the stuff goes for more than in the stores! So weird! People seem to be crazy for the stuff.

Anyway, I hope I can join in the Naartjie talk around here. I am home with two little ones. My DD is 10 months and my DS is 2.5yrs. It is SO cold outside, so we have been inside a lot this last month. URGH!

From, Mel

Hi Mel! Forgot to post yesterday and just noticed you online.

I can't wait for the new stuff either... and I've been learning my lesson about the ebay Naartjie experience... good advice from everyone in here on that.

Hope to see you around! Plenty of clothing addicts to hang out with here. :wavey:

The new line is going out fast. I go to the Naartjie in UTC, San Diego, and they're already running out of sizes! It's crazy!

I was just wondering if anyone is interested in Spring 2 from last year, the butterfly line (http://naartjie.homestead.com/spring2o2005/sp2girlkidmainpage.html). I have a set Abby wore, a 3, and one Addy wore, 12-18, the color is clear.

Bridget
January 28th, 2006, 12:26 PM
Is it the whole outfit Nicole? I'm talking the 12-18. I get kind of confused with their pics sometimes - what is a dress/what's a shirt/skirt... KWIM?

BTW how did you access those old pages?

Nicole
January 28th, 2006, 12:32 PM
I can take a picture of it when I get home today Bridget, it's the flutter sleeve tshirt, capris, denim jumper and socks.

Kim, saved all of the old line links in a thread, smart chickie that she is!!

Bridget
January 28th, 2006, 03:15 PM
OK Nicole - that would be great!

Kim - question if you happen to see this...http://www.naartjie.homestead.com/spring12006/sp1girlkidfashion.html\ (http://www.naartjie.homestead.com/spring12006/sp1girlkidfashion.html/)

There's a pic in the upper right of this page - big girl and toddler. With Naartjie sometimes I can't figure out all the pieces shown in the pic. I adore the toddler outfit, but is it a skirt? And what shirt? Is this obvious to everyone else?

I'd love this as an Easter set for Ahna, but I can't even figure out for sure if it is in her size.

Here's my guess:
knit rosy top
crochet jersey
and the rest, while it resembles some of the skirts shown, none of the patterns seem to match

ME DUMB. Are you banned from a clothing line if you can't figure out the stupid pictures?

Help!

Nicole

I can answer the question for you Bridget (because I am oh so smart  ) But really it's a hard site to navigate and the pictures aren't really all that great. Of course I think the stores are crammed full and hard to navigate too, but I digress. The little girl's gorgeous outfit is
Poplin Faded/Ditsy Rosy Hat
Poplin Vicki Dress
The pants are either the solid or ditsy print applique pants or the knit rosy pants (putting my money on the last one)
3D flower soft shoe
And I'm pretty sure those tricky bastards used the crochet jersey from Spring Trans 1 for final touch.

HTH!

But to make it up to you here is one of Addy in the outfit on Easter last year wearing it

Hey Nicole... sorry to just be responding now. Thanks for posting the pic. I think I'm going to pass for now. We just got a residual bill today from Ahna's birth (from last MAY :angry2: ) that's about 850 clams, so I am going to restrict myself from buying much misc. stuff (the fun stuff!) this month. THANKS ANYWAY!!!

It is really adorable!

I have 2 girls and used to live in CA. Since I moved to Atlanta, I haven't been able to break my Naartjie addiction. I order from Mary Beth at the Rancho Cucamonga Store (Tel: (909) 803-2888). She is SOOOO nice and helpful. The clothese hold up so well that I am always able to pass them from my older girl to my younger one and then even down to my niece. Plus you can't beat the sales!

Dani momto3 - That is one of the stores that I do most of my Naartjie shopping at! That is also the ONLY Naartjie store that has had nice employees! The girls there are very sweet and always willing to help and seem genuinely happy to be there! Where in CA did you live?
Bridget..:locolaugh you would love to say Rancho Cucamonga! LOL sounds like something you'd say. Thats where I started going to college!

I don't think it's the crochet jersey from the Spring Trans. If I'm not mistaken, that piece only have 1 button. So I'm guessing this item is not out for grabs yet. Maybe in the next line? Haha.. it's a tease to keep us super excited for the next spring trans!

Gianna & Katie will be Naartjie twins in their outfits!! Since we probably don't live very far apart maybe we need to get the girls together for some retail therapy in their matching N outifts. :heee:

I think I have a new love for the Lolli Funny Flower line for some reason. :shuffle: I can't wait to get the outfit from ebay!!

Here is our first Naartjie outfit!! I love the color, and its so light-weight and soft for summer! Its 18-24m though and fits pretty well now though, so I don't know if it will in a few months. :( These aren't the best pictures since Katie won't stay still for pictures anymore.

I just bought this on ebay for a nice little price... I remembered what you said Kim about not paying too much on the summer merch. I paid... wait, what did I pay... :bolt: $6.50 which I don't think is bad.

http://i1.ebayimg.com/04/i/05/ef/24/fb_1_b.JPG

I've got another outfit coming up soon I hope to get... it's just a simple little short set so hoping it goes for cheap. We'll see.

My mom and I are ordering this whole outfit for Ahna, excluding the little sweater which I'm still hoping will go on sale.

I'm sweating a bit over the sizes... she'll wear it Easter weekend, and then through the summer... so I'm ordering 12-18 but I'm worried..........

It is a pain in the butt and I'm in the US! I wish they'd change things to make it a bit easier... but so far it has worked OK. You just feel at the mercy of the store you contact to help you out...

Alyson
February 15th, 2006, 05:21 PM
Bridget.. just do it.. and Eva too! lol
I LOVE that outfit and I'm sure it'll be our next Naartjie purchase, minus the sweater cause I know Brookelyn would hardly wear it.. and it's too hot here in the summer for a sweater... soooo cute though!!!!

Bridget
February 15th, 2006, 05:24 PM
I thought you'd like that Alyson. I was just telling my mom about you. We both submitted our orders so hopefully they'll have it in stock.

What are your thoughts on the pants? Should I go 12-18? She's still in 6-12 Gymbo but outgrowing all their pants except stretch pants/leggings.

Alyson
February 15th, 2006, 05:38 PM
I always buy Brookelyn a size smaller than what she normally wears when I buy Naartjie.. In fact most of her 18-24 month stuff is still huge on her!!!

kim
February 15th, 2006, 08:51 PM
bridget naartjie pants tend to run pretty long.

i just got my dragonfly dress and pants in the mail (a friend in oregon shopped for me)...and i have to say...I FREAKIN' LOVE IT! i got the caribbean color and it's gorgeous. i didn't have time to have G try it on though since i did a mini gymbo fashion show and well, she hates that.

i might have her wear it this weekend if it stays above 40 degrees , it's a trans line but really not much lighter than the heart dress i already have.

Eva, they're *great* about shipping to Canada! I seriously had no problems when I did it, I was really, really impressed!

I found another picture of the girls wearing Naartjie...the line is from summer 2004, I think...but I had the pictures done last summer (so, 2005).

Oh, it's blurry, sorry...it's a picture of a picture, but you get the idea! I love that they can wear the stuff again this year, I think!

Bridget

I know it is a boneheaded thing of us to get this outfit NOT on sale but I've missed several items recently at some stores because I waited too long... so I figured I'd bite the bullet since I want it for Easter weekend and some pics. Plus my mom is buying the dress itself so :woo:

oh and i'm getting the vicki dress when it goes on sale for sure.

Jenn, the girls look really cute!

I drove by the Keedo store yesterday after running in J&J but DID NOT let myself go in. It looked like they had some cute stuff...

Love ethe picture of the girls. Love that shade of blue. :)

What are some of the names of the stores? I ordered from two...I believe one started with a "B".

Shipping and duty were totally reasonable, and I'm pretty sure they shipped FedEx (or Purolator, one of the two). It wasn't in my mailbox, it came to my door.

Vague enough for you?!
