View Full Version : Naartjie
kim February 7th, 2005, 06:17 PM ok, i'll fess up i've been scoping them out .
anybody have any? how do you like it? fit? quality?
i hear only good things on the loops/boards and i'm anxious to buy :awink:
Nicole February 7th, 2005, 06:25 PM I've been dying for Naartjie too but the thing that puts me off, besides the cost, is having to order from stores, no online orders. It just seems to be a pain. But they are just so cute and I love how everything can mix and match!
Eva February 7th, 2005, 06:31 PM I have been admiring naartjie but the having to order from the stores really puts me off as well. It seems like a hassel especailly since I am in Canada. I tried to win a few things on ebay but no luck so far.
magoo February 7th, 2005, 06:31 PM I'd never heard of that line, but I took a look. Most of it is really cute. I didn't really like the dresses, but I did like most of the rest of it. :)
sheila February 7th, 2005, 08:40 PM :banghead: When will I learn not to come to threads kim starts about products?
These clothes are so cute!
Brandi February 7th, 2005, 08:50 PM Do you have a link?
AahRee February 7th, 2005, 09:00 PM Nicole, there are stores somewhat near you, aren't there? I know there's one near my mom (in the Sacramento area). I think there are some further south as well. :dunno:
As for me, I LOVE the looks of these clothes, and am planning to send my mom on a shopping trip for Katie sometime soon. I don't actually think they're that expensive - less than Gymboree's regular prices, right? I've been eyeing them for months now, and just biding my time until my mom's schedule calmed down a little so I could send her to shop for me.

gulp! February 7th, 2005, 09:14 PM :banghead: When will I learn not to come to threads kim starts about products?
These clothes are so cute!
:rotflmao: No kidding, Sheila!
kim February 7th, 2005, 09:24 PM Do you have a link?

Karri February 7th, 2005, 10:15 PM OH MY GOSH! I LOVE THEM! KIM! Why must you do this to me  You make me into more of a shopping monster than I already am  :nono:
Great....and there isnt one around here. Now I have to rely on ebay. Unless I can bribe Nichole... hmnnnn..........
Silke February 7th, 2005, 10:16 PM Those clothes kinda remind me of European clothes. Interesting name. Where are they made?
kim February 7th, 2005, 10:34 PM they're a south african brand, i don't know where the clothes are made though.
karri you order from the stores . you can call or email them.
Lyndee February 7th, 2005, 10:56 PM I've bought from Naartjie. Cute stuff- not terribly expensive either. But it's such a pain to shop because you can't buy off the website. If the stuff is on the sale page, you'll have to call or email the stores yourself. You have to call/email your order.
I liked the stuff I got for Lauryn but from seeing other posts from the BBB, their sizes tend to be inconsistent.
Ebay has a bunch of Naartjie stuff too- and I they're definitely not as popular as Gymboree so you can actually get things without getting into bidding wars.
Karri February 7th, 2005, 11:02 PM OIC  I misread. Thought you had to do it in person.
jennp February 7th, 2005, 11:57 PM We have one at our mall a mile away...I'd be happy to shop for anyone :)
Lyndee February 8th, 2005, 12:04 AM Thanks for the offer JennP!
Oh, another gripe that I have-- the Naartjie website is so difficult to navigate and their lines (names and colors) are so difficult to figure out-- makes for difficult shopping.
Bonnie February 8th, 2005, 03:57 PM We have one very close and I bought a ton of stuff at their recent sale... It was possibly the best clothing sale I have ever been to... The clothes were at rockbottom prices and then an additional 40% off that, so I stocked up on stuff for my girls, as in short sleeve shirts for Courtney in about 8 colors in 12-18 and 18 -24 months for about $2.00 each! Sweatshirts for $4 each... long sleeve shirts for Caroline, reduced from $16 to about $5... I think it is kind of unique looking stuff which is a nice break from Gymboree, Gap and Old Navy.
Lyndee February 8th, 2005, 06:02 PM [QUOTE=kim]they're a south african brand, i don't know where the clothes are made though.
[QUOTE]
All the stuff I got were made in South Africa.
Kathryn February 8th, 2005, 06:22 PM  Sheila... I was just thinking the same thing... kim where do you find all these things??:banghead: When will I learn not to come to threads kim starts about products?
These clothes are so cute!
kim February 8th, 2005, 07:40 PM  Sheila... I was just thinking the same thing... kim where do you find all these things??
i get around the 'net :blush1:
Karri February 8th, 2005, 08:33 PM Kim is a net whore :lol2:
Kathryn February 9th, 2005, 06:20 AM :lol:Kim is a net whore :lol2:
Jeni February 9th, 2005, 09:53 AM I totally agree, I CANNOT look at thread that Kim starts:lol: Those clothes look so soft:)
Julie February 9th, 2005, 12:59 PM Hmmmm, I am going to San Diego this weekend, maybe I should take a look
Lyndee February 9th, 2005, 01:02 PM Yeah, I was so close but so far away! I was in LA a few weeks ago for an unofficial HS reunion and we had dinner in Glendale- right across the street from the Glendale Galleria where there is a Naartjie store. I was in LA only for 24 hours and I decided not to go to the mall (I'm really regretting that though!)
Brooke February 9th, 2005, 03:11 PM We have one very close .Bonnie - where is it? We'll be in San Diego for a week in March and I can convince DH to stop in.
Brandi February 9th, 2005, 03:42 PM Thanks Kim - I love that you "get around!"
kim February 9th, 2005, 06:15 PM ok...after approx 1 day of trying NOT to order something...i ordered one thing.
rib new rose dress. in cloud which is the sample color
Nicole February 10th, 2005, 01:34 PM Anne~ There aren't any close, but we are going to Sacramento next week! Must stay out of Naartjie, or maybe I must go shop since they're having a great sale!
kim February 14th, 2005, 11:31 AM i ordered the dress above on wednesday and got it on friday. i love it! we (my 15yr old niece and i. i've hooked her on baby fashion  ) tried it on gianna yesterday. it is totally adorable! BUT it does run short....maybe because most people put leggings underneath? i know gianna is tall for her age but i put the naartjie dress up against a gymbo dress in the same size and the gymbo is over an inch longer.
so i've got a loopie looking for the matching pants for me today  i'm outta control.
Lyndee February 14th, 2005, 12:36 PM Kim- their dresses do run short and that's why you must buy the leggings! Their sizing is all over the place sometimes. I got Lauryn some size 2T jeans that are just huge (and I have a big kid!)
Julie February 14th, 2005, 01:24 PM I was in the San Diego store on Friday, and the girl stuff is so cute! But the boy stuff leaves alot to be desired, so I was saved again
Brooke - The store is at UTC.
Bonnie February 14th, 2005, 03:23 PM I was in the San Diego store on Friday, and the girl stuff is so cute! But the boy stuff leaves alot to be desired, so I was saved again
Brooke - The store is at UTC.
They had some really cute boy stuff in their winter collection, Julie, so maybe you should stay away next year  It was so cute I got a couple of boy sweatshirts for my girls!
Lyndee February 18th, 2005, 01:56 PM :bullhorn: Free shipping at Naartjie ($50 min) until Wednesday
Nicole February 19th, 2005, 11:27 AM SO I made it to the Naartjie in Sacramento, Arden Fair Mall, and it was wonderful!! I limited myself to 3 outfits for Addy and 2 dresses for Abby the first day but then we went back and I decided to buy outfits for Easter there since I was so unimpressed with the Easter stuff at Gymbo. I was going to post pics but the site is down.
I did happen to meet their webmaster when I was in the store and gave her my opinion on what's wrong with the site and they're working on making it easier to navigate. Still no plans for online ordering though...
jennp February 19th, 2005, 12:31 PM I had a horrible time resisting buying an outfit for Morgan yesterday when I was there!
Nicole March 10th, 2005, 02:37 PM They've got a 15% off sale going until the 16th for those who are interested.
Here's a picture of my girls in the Easter Naartjie

Nichole March 15th, 2005, 01:07 PM I just received a mailer that says they're opening a store right near where I live! It has a 25% grand opening notice/coupon, so I may have to swing by and see what all the fuss is about. ;)
(Bonnie - it's at North County Faire)
Eva March 17th, 2005, 04:33 PM How do their clothes run in size in comparison to other brands? I am watching something on ebay right now.
~Jenn March 30th, 2005, 11:21 AM Okay, this thread is a big reason why I wanted to be able to post again! I discovered Naartjie last fall (I'm betting the same place as Kim did...BBB?), and fell in love! Honestly, I thought that the calling the stores to order would be a pain, but it was really okay! They were *so* easy to deal with, and I had *no* issues having anything shipped to Canada! I didn't have anything I wanted in particular, so asked them to send stuff in the colours I liked, and gave them the sizes that I figured the girls would be this spring/summer coming (this was their end-of-season clearance, so there wasn't a ton of stuff left). I picked it up at the house the other day (left it there over the winter), and I still love it! I can't wait to have their pictures taken in it!
And, Teagan wore a Naartjie dress/capris set for her Christening in October. I know it's not a traditional Christening out, but she was also 18 months old at the time. And, I loved it! And their stuff really is *so* soft!
Let's see if I remember how to do pictures (they aren't great, but you'll get an idea at least!)...
Top of dress...
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b4ce11b3127cce9c7bc4b8c8fd00000046118QZuGLZu4aS
Bottom of dress and capris (with a poncho thingy that she wanted to wear)...
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b4ce11b3127cce9c7bc4a6c8e300000046118QZuGLZu4aS
I'm pretty sure that this was an 18-24M size, and she could easily wear it again this spring/summer (it'll never be this white again though!)...that's the beauty of the dress/pants/capris thing!
And, hey, I ended up with two of these outfits (two different stores), so if anyone is interested, let me know...one is NWT.
Jeni March 30th, 2005, 11:53 AM That is beautiful Jenn! I got Jayden a pair of shorts off of Ebay, and they are SOOO soft!
Eva April 20th, 2005, 05:33 PM I made the plunge. :) I bought an outfit off a woman on GR and it arrived today. Too cute. I love the colour and it is no nice and soft. It is the clear butterfly tunic and pants. :) Here is a couple of pictures:

Karri April 20th, 2005, 05:42 PM I got got Norah her first Naartjie outfit, as well ('poppies' dress in fluffy with calf-length pants that have ruffles on the bottom in ribbon). She wore it in one of her 18 mo pics. As soon as we get them, I will have to post a photo. I got it in 18-24 months b/c I read the dresses ran small and she def. has lots of room to grow in it!
kim April 20th, 2005, 05:48 PM eva that's a great color on her!
karri i was waiting for you to post!
gianna has several naartjie outfits now. most bought on the loops or on GR. i haven't bought any summer stuff though, i've been buying ahead for fall/winter  i'll post some pics later.
Karri April 20th, 2005, 05:50 PM I soooo want to buy some of that new rose stuff for Norah for fall  I just love how it looks on G!!!! But I hate to speculate about her size. Hopefully I can score on ebay maybe mid-summer or so. :crossfing
AahRee May 23rd, 2005, 01:36 PM I just ordered from Naartjie for Katie, Marcus and Mia. I got the Poppy Flower Poplin Dress in white for Katie (big girls): http://www.naartjie.homestead.com/saleitems/girlkidsaleitems.html
And for Mia (baby girls): http://www.naartjie.homestead.com/saleitems/girlbabysaleitems.html
And for Marcus, I got the Treatment Tee with Skater Embroidery and the Cracker Pocket Overall. : http://www.naartjie.homestead.com/saleitems/boybabysaleitems.html
I tried to copy the pictures, but it didn't work, so the links are just to the sale pages. The prices on the sale stuff are AMAZING! Way better than I've seen on ebay. Check it out!
Karri June 7th, 2005, 11:41 PM Anne - that will look cute!
Norah has that dress :aok:

this is the new rose dress and pants in cloud.

i also just picked up another bellabloom set from last fall's line. i love bellabloom.
http://www.cpjconsult.com/ebay/dd3.jpg
i've been picking up last year's winter stuff for months now. besides the above i have:
bellabloom dress in orange
bellabloom dress in cliff
butterfly dress, pants and shirt in butter
tye dye dress in guava
vertical stripe tye dye shirt in raspberry/orange and raspberry leggings. seller threw in m2m bows too! so damn cute.
hmm...what else
the new line is supposed to come out next week. it's fall transition. i am :pant: to see it.

How hard would this be to find a duplicate in?? Since I have to buy everything in twos, it makes it kinda difficult
AahRee June 9th, 2005, 10:49 PM Karri ~ Great minds think alike! I have to say that I like the cut of the baby girls dress better than the big girls, but what can you do?
Kim ~ I LOVE that picture of Gianna! Too cute! Someday she's going to kill you for that bow, though! Where are you getting all of your Naartjie stuff? Everytime I check ebay, things are selling for more than what I'd pay if I just ordered from the store. :dunno: Since Katie is WAY bigger than Gianna, you won't be hurting your supply if you let me in on your secret!
kim June 9th, 2005, 10:50 PM mm....not sure what line that is. brb.
kim June 9th, 2005, 10:55 PM anne, i am a pro at searching ebay, don't forget at the bottom of your search results to click 'see buy it now items in stores'. i have found a few things there, like a muslin dress for summer for like $6 (orange tye dye. see a pattern with me yet?). i check multiple times a day and i sort by new listings first.
i got one of the bellabloom dresses, the tye dye dress in guava and the set in the pic on ebay. i got the vertical tye dye set, a bellabloom dress on GR when the bst was open. and i got the butterfly stuff on the loops as a set.
i started buying the winter stuff in like feb..so i got good deals cuz everyone else was looking for spring/summer stuff.
AahRee June 9th, 2005, 10:57 PM Smart! I think that way when I sell (I'm sitting on a ton of Gymbo stuff that I won't list until fall because it's all cool weather stuff) but I forget to do the reverse for when I shop. :duh: I'll have to check the ebay stores, too. I never think to do that.

ok, that's from happy spot/anglaise line from summer of '04. might be a bit tough to find. you might have luck on the loops.
i think that pic is dark. here's the old line link for that dress....i think that color is what the girl has on?
http://naartjie.homestead.com/summer2o2004/girlbabysummer2dresses.html
as you can see, i know a bit about naartjie  once i obsess, i'm all in.
Shanna June 9th, 2005, 11:18 PM I like it even better now, Kim!!! THanks
kim June 9th, 2005, 11:20 PM anything i can do to suck others into my world
i keep looking at that pic and ya, it's dark. naartjie tags are white! those look yellow
Shanna June 9th, 2005, 11:27 PM Well.. now I'm going to be on a mission to find a 2nd one of those
AahRee June 9th, 2005, 11:27 PM What are these loops of which you speak? I think I need to be in the loop! (Blech, that was horrible! )
kim June 9th, 2005, 11:30 PM 'loops' are yahoo groups! like strollerswap but for clothing nutjobs like myself. i belong to 20 different loops from diaper bags to naartjie and gymbo.
go to yahoo groups and search on naartjie. some of the bigger loops are capped but you can still apply. if you need a referral, send me a pm.
Shanna June 9th, 2005, 11:32 PM I joined several Naartjie loops... I'm not sure if I"m on any of the same ones as you though.. I'm on several loops too  A few are for twins only
JustJen June 10th, 2005, 02:15 AM I don't know this one, although I saw that they are putting one in at the new addition to the mall here.
Bridget June 14th, 2005, 12:34 PM Kim, I love that picture - what a beautiful daughter. I also love the rose outfit!! I don't have much luck finding stuff on the actual website - maybe because they're in between seasons? For newborns anyway I can only find like one thing. I definitely need to spend more time on Yahoo.:bee:
Jillian June 14th, 2005, 02:40 PM How do the leggings for under the dresses run size wise?
Jillian June 14th, 2005, 03:53 PM One more question. If I really like something I see on E-bay how much in general should a dress/bloomers set go for? (in 12-18 or 18-24...I don't remember what size it was)
gulp! June 14th, 2005, 05:03 PM I just emailed in my first ever Naartjie order. I'm so digging their clothes, and I shopped their sale stuff, so I got 7 things for just over $50! Nothing was more than $9.99, though I was tempted by a dress that was $15 and a pair of pants that were only $12. Good thing Emma already has a full closet!
I didn't see anything on sale for Krishan, but I'll have to check back on the boys stuff this fall.
I'm so excited to try this stuff on Emma! I have no idea about sizing, though. Hopefully it'll be generally true to size.
kim June 14th, 2005, 06:24 PM One more question. If I really like something I see on E-bay how much in general should a dress/bloomers set go for? (in 12-18 or 18-24...I don't remember what size it was)
i think the leggings are true to size and any bloomer type pants run big? not sure since i don't have any of those type but i read they are big-ish.
stef is gettin' succcccked in
gulp! June 14th, 2005, 09:53 PM Maybe not, Kim. They only had 2 of the 7 items I ordered, and they were the 2 I liked least. I'm wondering if I should email a different store? I emailed Glendale.
kim June 14th, 2005, 10:38 PM i would call stoneridge. i believe they are the biggest store, hence more inventory.
Karri June 14th, 2005, 10:41 PM Stef - when I emailed Arden Fair, I said that if they didnt have it, I wanted them to check their other stores and let me know if they had it. I also asked them to suggest other things to me if they didnt have what I wanted. I had wanted some mid calf pants and they didnt have them, but they had some other ones that went w/ the dress that never occurred to me that they would look good together. KWIM? And they were on clearnace, too.
AahRee June 14th, 2005, 11:12 PM The lady at the Arden Fair store that I worked with was really helpful. I basically called and told her I wanted matching dresses for the girls, and I wanted her to find a coordinating outfit for the boy, all in sale stuff, and she did it, no problem, walking all around the store to put together outfits and then telling me the names of the pieces so I could see them online while we were talking. If you have trouble finding what you need, definitely call that store. :) My mom and sister live near enough to drive to it and they've never gone - can you believe that? :complain: You'd think they'd at least go and shop for ME! :disbelief
AahRee June 14th, 2005, 11:15 PM Oh, and about the fall transition line - who decided to name a color *clot*? :puke:
kim June 15th, 2005, 08:15 AM clot was a color in last year's fall lines as well. it's an off white i think.
the new trans line is partially up on the website. i'm not bowled over that's for sure. i may get something when it gets marked down though
AahRee June 15th, 2005, 06:07 PM Don't get me wrong, the color itself is cute, but clot??? :wtf: were they thinking?
I'm not bowled over by the transition line, either, but that's probably a good thing!
gulp! June 15th, 2005, 07:54 PM I emailed Glendale back and asked if they would be willing to call other stores or if I should email my list to the other stores. I also asked if they had a particular shirt in any other color. No answer from them yet. :( If I haven't heard from them by tomorrow, I'll call or email Arden Fair. Thanks for the tips, ladies!
Bridget July 15th, 2005, 11:10 AM Kim, you seem to be the expert. Do you or anyone else know how you pronounce the name of this line?
Karri July 15th, 2005, 01:06 PM its nar-chee
Nicole July 15th, 2005, 05:12 PM I've been to the Arden Fair store and they are not too helpful in store because they are doing so many phone/email orders, it's pretty funny! They just added another 40% off sale items to clear the stores for fall line 1! I got 2 outfits for each girl for next summer for $32!! But it was slim pickings!
Bridget July 15th, 2005, 07:30 PM Thanks!:sunny: its nar-chee
Eva July 15th, 2005, 07:33 PM its nar-chee
Side note...It means Tangerine in South Afrirican. I asked my friends boyfriends who is South Aftrican what it means. :)
Jillian July 25th, 2005, 03:00 PM Ok, does anyone have an actual naartjie near them? I really like some of the newer stuff, but am confused on how to order it... :blush1: I also need to know how they run...I really like one of the girl dresses, but the smallest size is a 3...
kim July 25th, 2005, 03:06 PM jillian,
pretty much all the naartjie stores ship now! all you do is call them up (or email) and place an order, they ship priority. they have bg sizes but the designs are not always exactly the same.
how they run really depends on each individual item. they are notorious for being all over the place. judging by what you've posted of janelle in gymbo she'd likely be in 18-24 in naartjie.
i'm waiting for a sale before i order any of the new line. i am for sure getting the new striped essentials.
Dawn July 25th, 2005, 03:14 PM Ok, does anyone have an actual naartjie near them?
It looks like they're all in California! One in AZ and another in OH, I think.
I gotta check out their new stuff....and see if I like it. :)
Lyndee July 25th, 2005, 04:17 PM So with all this talk about Naartjie, Lauryn decided she'll wear her Naartjie dress today.
I got it on sale a while back. It's cute but it's one of those dresses that would look much better with leggings underneath. It's on the short side but she refused to wear anything else!
Jillian July 25th, 2005, 04:32 PM So, using one of the things I want as an example...I'd just call up any store and tell them this info then they'd ship it to me? Why don't they have online ordering???
CHEEKY FLORAL KNIT DRESS
Clot
3
Style #: GKD399FLT5
$22.50
Hmm, so there is no way a size 3 will fit huh? How often do they have sales? I like the bird dress in baby girl and the above dress in girls...plus the matching pants to go underneath both.
Have you ordered the soft-soled shoes before? Just wondering if they run similar in size to Robeez.
kim July 25th, 2005, 04:56 PM that's pretty much it
i am thinking the 3 will be huge. they tend to run large and they are preshrunk.
i've never bought the soft shoes. gianna doesn't wear shoes .
oh hey, i saw robeez knockoffs at payless yesterday for $12.99 boys and girls.
Lyndee July 25th, 2005, 05:09 PM Just a question-- have you guys had luck with Naartjie sizing? I hear people complain all the time about Gymbo sizing but I got a pair of Naartjie jeans in a 2T and they are HUGE!!!! Lauryn wears at least a 3 on Gymbo.
I look at some of the other message boards and it seems like Naartjie is such a guessing game when it comes to sizes. Anyone have good luck with this?
Nocona July 25th, 2005, 05:14 PM oh hey, i saw robeez knockoffs at payless yesterday for $12.99 boys and girls.
Mine had them on clearance for $3 :aok:
jennp July 25th, 2005, 05:21 PM We have one about a mile away, but I can't really help you with girl sizes :)
Kath July 25th, 2005, 07:57 PM Hmmm....so Kim, what size in Gianna in (now vs. for fall?) I LOVE that New Rose outfit she is wearing that you posted a ways back...she is too cute! For some reason I always thought "spring/summer" when I thought of Naartjie stuff but
duh, they obviously have fall/winter lines too! :silly:
Lyndee July 26th, 2005, 12:45 AM Here's the Naartjie dress Lauryn had on today. Looking at the pic, I guess it's not as short as I thought!

Dawn July 26th, 2005, 12:51 AM So cute Lyndee! :)
What size is that dress?
Lyndee July 26th, 2005, 01:01 AM It's a 2T. They were out of the leggings so I just got the dress. Last Spring, I was able to talk her into wearing pink leggings underneath because it was just way too cold. I also got the matching socks and hair thingies. It's such as soft and comfy dress.
Dawn July 26th, 2005, 01:10 AM Cool, Lyndee! I must check out their stuff...its been a while that I went on the site.
And btw, what are you still doing up girl? Don't ya have work tomorrow????
kim July 26th, 2005, 08:08 AM i love that dress lyndee, i have it for gianna (with matching pants and the shirt) in the 'butter' color.
kath - right now gianna would wear 12-18 in naartjie. the outfit i just mentioned, the dress and pants are 12-18 but the shirt is 18-24. i bought it as a lot on the loops  last spring when girls were clearing out their winter stuff. i plan to buy some new line in 12-18 as well (i have quite a bit of last year's winter lines in 18-24 already)
so although she's wearing 12-18 gymbo right now i think she'll still be in that size say thru october, maybe november.
have i posted the old lines links? i will in a min.
Nicole July 26th, 2005, 08:50 AM I love their soft shoes, they run just like Robeez and they are really cute and soft. I love the new line and can't wait to buy some, I'm going to the one in Arden Fair next month because I hate ordering!!
Lyndee July 26th, 2005, 05:13 PM And btw, what are you still doing up girl? Don't ya have work tomorrow????
Do you really want to know????
I read all 31+ pages of the GR drama! :faint:
Dawn July 27th, 2005, 09:09 AM Do you really want to know????
I read all 31+ pages of the GR drama! :faint:
 No way...you are too funny! I *still* have yet to finish it.
Bridget July 28th, 2005, 04:33 PM Where are the soft shoes on their website? I can't seem to find them, but I is stoopid.
I love their soft shoes, they run just like Robeez and they are really cute and soft. I love the new line and can't wait to buy some, I'm going to the one in Arden Fair next month because I hate ordering!!

here's what i have for G this fall/winter, can you tell i love bellabloom?

i think that's it. i have a few things on my 'to buy' list from the new line
BTW: FREE SHIP ON ORDERS OVER $50 RIGHT NOW, and they are still having 40% off sale merchandise.
Nicole July 29th, 2005, 02:05 PM I love the new line and will be paring down my to buy list because I am so in love with the new line!!
The only Naartjie stuff so far for the winter is Holland Flower stuff I got on eBay for the girls and the New Rose stuff I bought on sale in the store.
AJsMom0703 July 31st, 2005, 01:36 AM I was introduced to Naartjie a few months ago. I absolutely love it for my son Airen. Even my hubby likes shopping at the outlet here in AZ with no complaints. Of course we are still trying to figure out the sizing. Airen is 31 pounds and 35 inches tall. We bought 18-24 month shorts that are way too big in the waist and have a pair in 12-18 month which are too tight. We can't seem to find a happy medium in the shorts but a simple tuck in the back waist band seems to help. The 2T shirts fit him well. This line of clothes washes up great and for boys has a great variety.

Dawn August 2nd, 2005, 01:31 AM One more question. If I really like something I see on E-bay how much in general should a dress/bloomers set go for? (in 12-18 or 18-24...I don't remember what size it was)
I would like to know this answer as well, because..............
Lookie, lookie what I won!!!! :yippee:
http://members.sparedollar.com/resize.aspx?user=pretzelboys&img=2005_0710july100025.JPG&size=200
It's 6-12 mo. for Angelina!
kim August 2nd, 2005, 08:56 AM yay dawn!!!!
naartjie seems to be going high right now, when i bought i'd pay up to $20 incl. ship for a set. i tend to buy in the off season to get deals , i bought most of what's on my above list back in late winter, early spring when people were getting rid of winter stuff.
Dawn August 2nd, 2005, 09:22 AM Thanks Kim. :) Anyway, I bought that set for $18.75....($21.75 incl. shipping).
Now, as for this one:
http://members.sparedollar.com/resize.aspx?user=pretzelboys&img=2005_0710july1010014.JPG&size=200
I put my high bid at $25.00, and someone outbidded me....it's up to $26.00 now (and mind you, it's from a bidder with ZERO feedback  ), and it ends in 7 hrs.
I usually bid right when it's close to ending but I put a bid in last night in fear that I wouldn't be home or would forget by the time it ended...so I wanted to get some bid in.
kim August 2nd, 2005, 10:32 PM got the shadowcheck set (in butter) in the mail today. i was told this runs huge and it does. this is the 12-18 , her size right now in gymbo and other clothes. this dress is enormous! the pants i believe are supposed to be more like bloomers but they are pants now .she'll wear it straight thru to may around here.
i love it btw.

excuse the bink...it was after work, her cranky time.
Dawn August 3rd, 2005, 05:25 AM Oooh Kim, love it! Just that particular line runs huge?
kim August 3rd, 2005, 08:12 AM yes, this line runs huge. other lines do as well, but from what i can tell of the butterfly and bellabloom stuff i have, they are not big. i found the new rose stuff to be right on.
then again gianna is a bit chunky
kim August 3rd, 2005, 08:12 AM btw dawn did you see what that set you were watching went up to?
Dawn August 4th, 2005, 03:00 AM btw dawn did you see what that set you were watching went up to?

Dawn August 4th, 2005, 03:15 AM Holy cow! Can you link to that auction? I have to see that!
Yep, here ya go http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4751854753&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEDW%3AIT&rd=1
That's just insane!!!!! I LOVE LOVE that outfit....but not for $50!
AahRee August 4th, 2005, 03:23 AM Holy cow! It's not even NWT! :faint: It is adorable, though, but not for $50! That has to be WAAAYYY more than she paid for it. And her child wore it, too. Amazing! I wish my auctions did that!
Lyndee August 15th, 2005, 11:20 AM Question for you guys--
How is the newborn stuff running?
Brandon is 22 lbs and maybe 27 inches (we don't know-- DH took him for his check up and didn't get the full stats!)
I'm liking the KNIT YARN DYE TEAL STRIPE shirt with the matching pants. Do you think he can wear a 6-12 months? This is to wear now- for the house. I need some soft pants and LS tops so he doesn't get carpet burn when he crawls.
TIA!
Karri August 15th, 2005, 12:36 PM Oh Kim - that is sooo cute!!!!!!
Ok - I cant believe how much that auction went for! I love the outfit, but shiiiiiit
Dawn August 15th, 2005, 01:38 PM Ok - I cant believe how much that auction went for! I love the outfit, but shiiiiiit

Nicole August 15th, 2005, 05:04 PM That one is really cute Dawn!!
I just won a Bella Bloom outfit for Addy yesterday for $15.50!! I'm thrilled and now I just have to find one for Abby. I'm still searching for good deals on Shadow Check after seeing Gianna's cute pics! We're going to Naartjie in Arder Fair tomorrow!
Dawn August 17th, 2005, 09:14 AM Look at the 2 Naartjie outfits I won for Alexia! :yippee:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4756589942&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1
It's a tad more than what I wanted to pay....but I LOVED it so much!
kim August 17th, 2005, 09:30 AM We're going to Naartjie in Arder Fair tomorrow!
soooo jealous! the new line is out and i LOVE IT! i got my 15% coupon in the mail the other day :aok:. once i get a handle on how the sizing is going i'll make my order.

Dawn August 17th, 2005, 09:33 AM dawn - i have that tye dye dress in guava  i might actually be selling it because i can't find matching leggings.
Oh man, have you checked on ebay? Or do the leggins usually sell w/ the dress on ebay? What size is your dress?
kim August 17th, 2005, 09:39 AM the dress is 12-18. it's nwt i bought it probably 6 months ago and have been hunting ebay and the loops/boards i'm on and cannot get my hands on 12-18 guava leggings. i'm thinking it was not a popular color. :(
Dawn August 17th, 2005, 09:49 AM the dress is 12-18. it's nwt i bought it probably 6 months ago and have been hunting ebay and the loops/boards i'm on and cannot get my hands on 12-18 guava leggings. i'm thinking it was not a popular color. :(
oh man :blue: Well, I'll keep my eyes open for ya too.....
I see alot of that raspberry color...I'm guessing that color's pretty popular, right?
AahRee August 17th, 2005, 02:29 PM I didn't get a picture of Katie in it yet, but I had to come post this picture of my niece, Mia, in her Naartjie dress (from Auntie). Isn't she a doll?
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y8/aahree/Miasittingsmall.jpg
Kath August 17th, 2005, 02:35 PM OMG!! What an adorable picture!!!! Seeing pictures of babies/kids wearing Naartjie makes me want to buy it even more.....MUCH better than just seeing the pictures on ebay or the website!!
kim August 17th, 2005, 02:48 PM she's a cutie anne!
hmm...then i won't do a naartjie fashion show kath  i actually have only tried that one outfit on gianna. she hates to be changed so i don't do it if i don't have to.
Dawn August 17th, 2005, 03:13 PM She's adorable, Anne!
AahRee August 17th, 2005, 03:17 PM Thanks! I keep threatening my sister that I'm going to steal her. She's such a sweetie! :love3:
Eva August 17th, 2005, 03:30 PM She is adorable. I love that dress. :)
Nicole August 17th, 2005, 10:13 PM She is adorable Anne!
Kim~ I didn't get a coupon so I bought the new line full price! It is TDF in person!! I only bought one outfit each in juicy, I was too shocked that they are nearly out of the bird stripe, NO full sets left in a 4!! So I'll be calling stores for that line because I love it!!
Dawn~ We have that same dress and color for Abby and for Addy in Zu I think. We got tights insead of leggings though...
kim August 18th, 2005, 08:15 AM nicole, mention you have the coupon when you call :awink: there is no code on it so they'd have no idea you didn't physically have it. they usually put a secret  code word on the website during these sales anyway.
i am LOVING the new heart line. i'm a sucker for tye dye. there a few things from fall 1 i want too. hmmm...
Dawn August 18th, 2005, 09:42 AM Kim, the heart line is only the newborn line right (up to 12 mos)? And, am I blind....I don't see tye dye? Which, by the way, I LOVE tye dye too!
Sandy August 18th, 2005, 09:44 AM I am loving the items you are getting Dawn! I am going to keep an eye out on ebay for it myself.
Sandy
kim August 18th, 2005, 09:44 AM nope you're not blind, they haven't linked the pages yet, but they are up! they use the same naming convention with all their pages so if you play around you can see the new line before they officially throw it up there.
try this, baby girl :
http://www.naartjie.homestead.com/fall22005/f2girlbabymainpage.html
Dawn August 18th, 2005, 09:47 AM Ah ok...gotcha! Thanks! I love the BG line!!!! Hmn, I'm wondering if Alexia will fit in the 2T. I have to see their sizing charts.... But for sure I'm getting some for Ang!
Can you do the same thing for KG, so I can see what it looks like? Sorry, I just have no clue how you did that...I was trying and trying and all I come up with is the Fall 1 line.
kim August 18th, 2005, 09:57 AM credit goes to kaari for figuring out the page stuff during the last new line
at the bottom of the link i just gave you, if you click on big girl you should see the new line there. if you don't, clear your browser cache, shut the browser down and try it again.
Lyndee August 18th, 2005, 01:13 PM Kim--
can you do your magic and show me the boy stuff?
TIA!
I just put an order in yesterday at the arden fair store. I"m trying to not look at any more girl things. My boy boy needs some clothes!
Jillian August 18th, 2005, 02:39 PM I just put an order in yesterday at the arden fair store. I"m trying to not look at any more girl things. My boy boy needs some clothes!
See, this is how you should do it. Boy clothes NEVER sell out anywhere, I bought so much clearanced gymbo for caid at RHDS that he had 30 outfits for winter in like June...that left the rest of the year to shop for Janelle.
Dawn August 18th, 2005, 03:05 PM credit goes to kaari for figuring out the page stuff during the last new line

Thanks Kim! I like the stuff! Since I'm not liking TP in Gymbo, I'm trading off and getting some of this. Me likey!
Lyndee August 18th, 2005, 11:26 PM Found the boy stuff!
http://www.naartjie.homestead.com/fall22005/f2boybabymainpage.html
Question for you guys--
So the Arden Fair store had all my stuff except for a pair of shoes. If I find the pair of shoes at another store, then I would have to pay a whole new shipping fee for a new order?
Dawn August 19th, 2005, 09:36 AM I am loving the items you are getting Dawn! I am going to keep an eye out on ebay for it myself.
Sandy
Thanks Sandy! I soooo can't wait until they get here!!!! I'm too impatient!
I've been scouring some of the Naartjie stuff lately instead of the Gymbo on ebay.
Dawn August 19th, 2005, 11:20 AM OK, for now the last thing I have on watch for Naartjie is this (for Alexia):
I love it....I want it!
4 pc set Cranberry Crochet Tie Dyed XS 3 yrs
http://i11.ebayimg.com/03/i/04/b3/e4/ac_1_b.JPG
and of course there's 3 days left on it. Wish me luck!
Nicole August 19th, 2005, 11:37 AM That is so cute Dawn!!
Nicole August 19th, 2005, 11:39 AM I won the same Shadow Check outfit Gianna has for Abby yesterday, now I'm on the hunt for one for Addy...
Dawn August 19th, 2005, 11:43 AM I won the same Shadow Check outfit Gianna has for Abby yesterday, now I'm on the hunt for one for Addy...
I almost bid on one as well. But like you, I know I'll be on the hunt for 2 of them.
kim August 19th, 2005, 05:04 PM i bought two shirts and two pr pants from fall trans today :blush1:
Sandy August 19th, 2005, 09:01 PM Lets See!!!!
Nicole August 19th, 2005, 10:11 PM Kim, don't feel bad I placed an order today, just have to wait and see what they have...
Kath August 19th, 2005, 10:37 PM Ok Kim...I know you said that you wouldn't post a fashion show to hook me into having to buy Naartjie.....but I have been playing online and am getting hooked regardless! And getting totally overwhelmed trying to decide on colors, trying to coordinate tops/bottoms etc. HELP!
Dawn August 20th, 2005, 08:41 AM Kim, do you know when they'll oficially link the pages up to the Fall 2 line?
Nicole August 20th, 2005, 09:01 AM Dawn~ Fall 2 is up!
Dawn August 20th, 2005, 11:42 AM Dawn~ Fall 2 is up!
Oh cool! Thanks Nicole! :)
I'm off to check my picks of what I want to get!!!!
Nicole August 20th, 2005, 01:45 PM They had everything in my order so I bought the girls both a dress/pants set as well as a stripe set from the bird strip line. It's shipping out today:yippee:!!
kim August 20th, 2005, 11:10 PM Lets See!!!!
if you look on the sale page http://www.naartjie.homestead.com/saleitems/girlbabysaleitems.html
i got the applique flower top and the welt pants in clot
and the cheeky floral top in sage, with a pr of essential pants in sage as well.
i really wanted the cheeky striped dress but i have a TON of dresses for G already.
i'll wait until fall 2 is marked down to order it. tye dye dress is a must have.
Sandy August 20th, 2005, 11:27 PM My first purchase! Ebay. From the Boho line. I can't wait to see it in person! I feel lucky to have gotten it for $15.00 based on the price some outfits are going for!
http://i13.ebayimg.com/02/i/04/b1/f3/e4_1_b.JPG
Lyndee August 20th, 2005, 11:44 PM That's so cute!!!
It's 11:30 p.m. I just got off the phone with Naartjie at Arden Fair. DH looked at the clock and asked me where these people are that I talk to. He was wondering if they were in South Africa or something.
And oh, the other night when I was playing around with the URLs to find the lines that they hadn't linked yet (it was Kim's idea  ), DH looked at me and said You people are crazy!!
Dawn August 21st, 2005, 09:36 AM Kim - HOw long before prices go down? (in this case, on Fall 2)?
Sandy - You sure did get a good price on that! Good deal, and it's adorable!
The raspberry Butterfly set came in yesterday! The one w/ the striped pants and butterfly dress (the pics are taken off the auction already). I LOVE it! The pants do run long...they are 18-24 mo. and the dress is a 3. NWT! Can't wait to try it on Alexia!
Sandy August 21st, 2005, 08:02 PM Does anyone know if the leggings run big? I see lots of 18-24 dresses w/ 12-18 leggings????
Sandy August 21st, 2005, 08:03 PM Oh, based on Dawn's post, I guess so??????
Dawn August 21st, 2005, 09:02 PM Yes Sandy, I believe the leggins do run big. Kim would know if all styles of the leggins do....I'm assuming yes. Alexia would normally be in a size 3 for length, and the outfit we won the leggins were 18-24 mos. like I said, and it just fits her...it may even be a hair too short. A size 2 leggins she would have gotten more use out of though, and is what I'll be looking for next time. Now I know.. :) The dress that went with it is a 3, btw. :) HTH!
kim August 22nd, 2005, 09:44 AM sandy i think you got that set so cheap because they are from different lines. the dress is boho but the pants are definately holland flower.
naartjie sizing is all over the place. you can't make a general statement that the pants run big, sometimes they run small! i get my sizing info from the girls on my other board who buy tons of naartjie. i bought gianna all 12-18 the other day based on their recommendations. i'll give a report once i get them :)
Lyndee August 22nd, 2005, 12:06 PM naartjie sizing is all over the place. you can't make a general statement that the pants run big, sometimes they run small! i get my sizing info from the girls on my other board who buy tons of naartjie. i bought gianna all 12-18 the other day based on their recommendations. i'll give a report once i get them :)
It is waaay all over the place! People complain all the time about how Gymbo is so inconsistent with sizing- but I haven't really found Gymbo to be THAT inconsistent (in fact, I really have had very little problems). But I read about the folks at the BBB who are getting 12-18 anywhere from their <1 to 2T kids!
Dawn August 22nd, 2005, 12:55 PM Wow, I didn't know that the sizing was all over the place like that. How's their return policies? I think for now I'll stick w/ size 3 dress/tops for Alexia and size 2 for the bottoms, and keep my fingers crossed  . For Ang....6-12 mos. We'll see how that goes...
I printed out all the Fall 2 line pages so I can see what things I want to match up (ok, I'm a dork! ) with each other. I hope to place an order by this week!!
Sandy August 22nd, 2005, 01:26 PM Interesting. I was going to bid on some stuff last night, but decided against it b/c I was unsure. I also think I am going to wait until I get the stuff I won before getting anything else. Will let you know.
Nicole August 24th, 2005, 10:39 AM I just got the Shadow Check outfit that I won on eBay for Abby, I love it so much!! I also won it for Addy in orange (whatever color they called orange that year) and Bella Bloom for Addy in fuschia! So loving my Naartjie! Just waiting for the stuff I ordered from the Glendale Galleria...
Dawn August 24th, 2005, 10:41 AM I just got the Shadow Check outfit that I won on eBay for Abby, I love it so much!! I also won it for Addy in orange (whatever color they called orange that year) and Bella Bloom for Addy in fuschia! So loving my Naartjie! Just waiting for the stuff I ordered from the Glendale Galleria...
Nicole, that's great! I'm waiting on one more NWT outfit to come in from ebay (the tye dye one)...and I can't wait! I plan on putting an order in for the Fall 2 line....and I hope I guestimate good as far as the sizes go. :crossfing:
Nicole August 24th, 2005, 11:06 AM Fall 2 is so cute Dawn, it's even better in person than on the site, which outfits are you considering? I love the tye dye dresses from Holland Flowers, although I've seen that there's a pink one and now I want that, it never ends!!
Dawn August 24th, 2005, 02:54 PM Fall 2 is so cute Dawn, it's even better in person than on the site, which outfits are you considering? I love the tye dye dresses from Holland Flowers, although I've seen that there's a pink one and now I want that, it never ends!!
I'll let you know for sure what outfits I'm considering after I get it together (i have the pages printed out...I'm still trying to decide on what bottoms to get w/ what, etc.) but I do like the Tie Dye crochet heart stuff (trying to decide if I should get the shirt vs the dress), and I'll probably also get them a basic set like a yarn dye striped outfit. The hearts print stuff is cute too. So we'll see.....
You have a store by you? Lucky! There's absolutely no stores here on the east coast!!! I would love it if there were. That's good to know that you liked the stuff in person too.

kim August 24th, 2005, 05:49 PM i got my physical coupon in the mail a week ago .
Lyndee August 28th, 2005, 01:23 AM Well, I got my order and they didn't take 15% off my order even though I said HEARTS over the phone.
But what's really disappointing is that all the 6-12 month clothes I got for Brandon are all too small! I was hoping they'd run big like everything else they have.
And 2 out of the 3 outfits that I got were not made in South Africa anymore. They're made in China.
Dori August 28th, 2005, 04:45 AM I won my first Naartjie outfit on ebay this week!!
http://www.sellersourcebook.net/members/watch/userimages/7920/img_4933.jpg
Its new with tags!! Its for next summer. I had another in my watch but I think I will wait until I get this one, see how the sizes run, etc.. before I bid on anymore. I really like this outfit!!
Dawn August 28th, 2005, 07:06 AM Dori, that's adorable!
Lyndee....man, that sucks...both about the 'hearts' code and about the sizing. :blue:
I got Alexia's Holland Flower tye die outfit in the mail the other day from ebay (NWT!) and the pants is size 3 and the dress is size 18-24 mos. which fits her!! It's adorable!

So far, based on the outfits I have, I think I'll be getting her size 2 stuff and keep my fingers crossed :crossfing:
kim August 28th, 2005, 12:43 PM Dori, those pants are flannel! definately NOT for summer. they are the shadowcheck flannel pants from the butterfly line. i do not recognize the top at all but i'm pretty sure it is not from the same line.
lyndee - yes, a lot of the stuff is being made in china now. i think this stuff is, i'd have to check the tags.
these are fall trans. everything is 12-18, she is at least 30in tall and over 21lbs (that was her weight 3m ago). i got a major deal on these because they were ordered from the outlet in AZ and a girl on another board picked them up. so i got 25% off then an additional 15%.
applique top and welt pants in clot. welt pants are long, i will have to roll the waist but they will fit all winter.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b96/beni32/Dsc00031.jpg
applique top and nec raw pants in sage. these are actually capris which i didn't know when i ordered them. still really cute.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b96/beni32/Dsc00030.jpg
Dori August 28th, 2005, 01:10 PM They are capri's??
Nicole August 28th, 2005, 02:08 PM Kim~ I can't see your pics
Dori~ The pants are crops, both of my girls have them. They would work for fall or spring but not fall.
So we finally got Addy's Bella Bloom outfit yesterday and I won one for Abby so that should be coming soon. I also got Addy's shadow check outfit in the mail. I'm in love!! I'm going to try to do a fashion show during my days off...
Sandy August 28th, 2005, 02:54 PM Dori, I had that outfit on my watch list, but didn't bid. I think it is adorable!!!
Kim, I have now been paying closer attention to listings and I see a lot of them w/ mismatched lines together. The outfits still look good, but they do have different lines. I love seeing these clothes on G.
I got the outfit I won last week. I haven't tried it on her yet, but it is very cute and soft.
Dori August 28th, 2005, 03:10 PM Okay, she did list in the auction that the top and bottom were from two different lines. And the pants will work for summer in Ireland!! ;)
Nicole September 28th, 2005, 11:06 AM Thought I'd bump this up with some pics of my girls in their fall Naartjie since it's finally cooling off here.

Dawn September 28th, 2005, 11:47 AM Nicole - How cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What are their age differences?
Nicole September 28th, 2005, 12:09 PM Dawn~ They are are 2 years and 5 months apart, perfect age gap for baby and big girl sets!
Dawn September 28th, 2005, 12:21 PM Dawn~ They are are 2 years and 5 months apart, perfect age gap for baby and big girl sets!
Awe, cool! My 2 are 2 yrs. 8 mos. apart and can't wait for Angelina to walk so that they can look too cute like that...standing side by side in matching/coordinating outfits.
Nicole October 2nd, 2005, 11:22 AM The new Naartjie is up, it looks pretty cute! I love the cropped cross over top with the hoodie under it and the dress with the netting on the bottom. I may have to go see it when I go to Sacramento in a couple of weeks.
Nicole October 4th, 2005, 10:25 AM Just one picture to share, Abby in her fall 1 dress that I love so much!!
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5ce25b3127cce943cd28055f200000025118AYtmLho0ZNN
Nicole October 17th, 2005, 09:43 AM The girls wore their fall 2 outfits yesterday and they ran pretty big, the waists were HUGE!! And the sleeves were quite long. The worst part is that the leggings for Abby are pretty short, they just reach her ankle. I'll have to get a picture of them in the outfits, they look cute, just big.
kim October 17th, 2005, 09:52 AM i haven't bought any naartjie since fall trans due to the all over the freaking place sizing lately.
for example, i bought the quirky striped applique top in sage and clot. both 12-18 fit perfect. i have the welt pants in 12-18...huge. very long and big in waist. also got the nec rosette fleece pants. pants? they are for sure capris  i posted pics of them about a page back.
a girl on another board sold me the same shirt in 2t (lily)...just a tad big! she wore it yesterday! and the striped quirky pants in 18-24...fit almost same as 12-18.
i think i am done with them for now (although i really really want the tye dye dress. i may get one for next fall since G doesn't need another dress).
Dawn October 17th, 2005, 10:04 AM Not the best pics of Alexia (silly girl!), but wanted to show you her wearing this Butterfly line from 2004 in raspberry color. This is her FAVORITE outfit and has asked to wear it several times already! It is soooo adorable on....I LOVE it!

Nicole October 17th, 2005, 04:35 PM I hate the all over sizing Kim, it's making me crazy!!
Dawn~ That outfit looks so great on Alexia! Very cute!
Bridget October 17th, 2005, 10:18 PM Dawn, that outfit is really cute! I love the color - and the braids!

http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5ce02b3127cce94952128efc700000026108KaM2zVuzo
Dawn November 9th, 2005, 07:59 AM Oh man Kim, that sux about the pants. :blue: They are hard to come by on ebay? For now I would also probably do tights with it. That guava color must look so nice in that dress!!
I totally love Gianna's outfits! And that vertical type tye dye is too cool!
Alyson November 9th, 2005, 12:48 PM Here's Brookelyn yesterday. The pants are still so big on her. I have to remember to just buy her 18-24, cause the 2T is way too big still in pants! I don't know why she's standing so goofy!!! lol
Sandy November 10th, 2005, 09:51 AM Alyson, she is so CUTE!!!
Please keep me in the loop if anyone learns of Naartjie having a big sale! I know you have to call the individual stores to order, or something like that, but I want to keep my options open! I am just LOVING the outfits you guys are posting, and the material is just so great!
kim November 10th, 2005, 09:58 AM they're have 15% off right now sandy

Alyson January 12th, 2006, 04:27 PM Nocona - Sara looks so cute in that outfit! We love Naartjie..
Heres a pic of Brookelyn in Naartjie today! Oh..and those aren't big stains on her shirt, they're velour leaves sewn onto it, there's some on the left leg too.. it's cuter in person! Although that white stuff is crap from a meal bar.
Eva January 12th, 2006, 04:48 PM Awww. Sara is so cute.
Alyson, very cute. I love the colour. It looks great on her. :)
Bridget January 12th, 2006, 06:01 PM Nocona and Alyson I :hb: those pics. I just ordered my VERY FIRST NAARTJIE!!! I can't wait to get it, although it is all for next winter... I could NOT justify it for this winter that is for sure. I love their fluffy, lacy fairy motif they've got goin on....
Alyson January 12th, 2006, 06:04 PM Bridget.. what did you order? Do tell!!
Oh..and in the future.. I'll let you know when I'm going to Naartjie for sure!... that way if you want anything I'll just pick it up for ya!
Bridget January 12th, 2006, 06:23 PM OMG that would be awesome. I can honestly say I hadn't gotten the bug for Naartjie until just this week. I think I always hit the website at weird sale times when there was nothing left. I'm not sure what all I got. They never emailed me back after my last message...
Bridget.. what did you order? Do tell!!
Oh..and in the future.. I'll let you know when I'm going to Naartjie for sure!... that way if you want anything I'll just pick it up for ya!
It won't let you post the images, but here's my list:
NEC Velour Jacket in Bluebell
Velour and Netting Handwork Skirt in Bluebell
Velour and Netting Handwork Dress in China
NEC Raw Rosette Fleece Pants in Bluebell, Flower, and Retro
and maybe (they didn't confirm these)
Fleece w/Netting Fairy Top in Bluebell
NEC Knit Long Sleeve Velour Leaf Tunic in Very Cherry
I'm sure you are DYING to look all this up. There's so much other fluffy stuff on the site right now that I just love!
Alyson January 12th, 2006, 06:35 PM Bridget what cute stuff! That last one, the long sleeve velour leaf tunic.. that is what Brookelyn has on.. the color on the website looks very red, but hers is more maroon.. but I didn't see maroon on htere.. so maybe hers is the cherry.. don't know.. We have the matching pants too.. Thats the outfit in the pic from today. I love it and wish I'd have bought it in more colors! You'll love the little velour jacket!!! We have a red and a blue from this spring that are corduroy with the fuzzy inside. Brookelyn wears them ALL of the time!! Theyre adorable!
Dawn January 13th, 2006, 06:13 AM Cute pics of Sara & Brookelyn! :)
It's been a while since we purchased any Naartjie. :blue: It's a shame cuz Alexia's favorite outfits are her Naartjie ones! I need to check the site and update myself on the lines they currently have.
Bridget - I'm sure you'll LOVE Naartjie....especially when Ahna wears it, next year. She'll look too cute in it. :)
Alyson January 13th, 2006, 11:42 PM I'm thinking I might go to Naartjie one day next week. (I have to drive about an hour to get to one, but at least theres Gymbo, Gap, Janie and Jack, Naartjie, Nordstroms, Pumpkin Patch and more at the same mall:)!) So.. if anyone wants anything either pm me or something so I can pick stuff up for ya!:)
kim January 14th, 2006, 11:26 AM nocona i'm surprised you even put that outfit on her  i know you're not a fan of the dress with leggings look. sara looks adorable!
i haven't bought any naartjie in a while either. i do plan on getting the new dragonfly dress though
Alyson January 16th, 2006, 01:18 PM Going to Naartjie today.. just wondering if anyone is ISO anything... let me know asap!!:)
Kath January 18th, 2006, 11:11 AM Going to Naartjie today.. just wondering if anyone is ISO anything... let me know asap!!:)
Did you end up buying anything? Share! :heee:
Alyson January 18th, 2006, 03:56 PM Actually no! The girls were horribly rude!!! ...And, they had nothing on their shelves almost at all!! The were bringing out new stuff and rearranging things and wouldn't let me open a package that had shirts in it (I wanted to buy one, and still they said no)!!?? So.. I left there pretty quick and pissed!
hanabearshoes January 19th, 2006, 02:58 AM Actually no!
Oh that stinks! The new line looks pretty cute too.
Kath January 19th, 2006, 08:28 AM OMG, that IS rude!! :( That sucks. I hope you got to indulge in some retail therapy somewhere else!!
Bridget January 19th, 2006, 11:11 AM Alyson that totally sucks! I'm sorry. :furious: Actually no!
The good news is my Naartjie sale order arrived yesterday and although they didn't put in the last two items I requested  the other stuff is GORGEOUS. I love, love, love it.
zen January 20th, 2006, 03:05 PM Hi, I'm new to this forum but I absolutely love Naartjie.
Actually no!
If I may know, which store was that? They probably can't sell the new stuff yet because they want it to be displayed first.. Maybe? Haha.. I can't blame you for being that excited though.
Alyson January 22nd, 2006, 12:02 AM They had almost NOTHING on their shelves except for stuff in plastic packaging still! So maybe they should have been closed! It was one of the stores in Sherman Oaks,CA (at the Fashion Square Mall).
This is the 2nd time we've had a sh*tty customer service experience there! When we were Xmas shopping at the store in the Glendale Galleria (CA) one of the girls was being REALLY rude to everyone! This guy was buying a TON of stuff and wanted to add some shoes, the lady said she'd already run his cc and couldn't add them. He said, well I want to buy them. She said, I'd have to cancel the whole thing and do it again and you could tell her was irritated by then! (I would have been) And he said, Ok do it then. And she said 'Oh yeah, make us work a little longer tonight man!' LOL!! She said that really loud to! Everyone in the store was looking at her, if I hadn't been so desperate for my stuff I'd have left right then after I told her how rude she was! She wasn't too bad when she rang us up, but she didnt say hi, bye or thank you!!!! She was a total B*tch!!!! I've been telling DH that I'm going to email Naartjie and complain, but ahven't had the time to actually do it!!
zen January 22nd, 2006, 02:31 AM WOW that is rude.. I didn't think it would be that bad. If you're really dissatisfied with their service, then maybe you should email a complaint. It will give them a chance to realize their mistakes and better themselves.
AmyP January 22nd, 2006, 08:10 AM You definitely should complain. Working retail around Xmas is tough, but it doesn't mean you should be rude! Besides, why on earth couldn't she just run his CC again for the other purchases as a separate sale? We do it all the time at Gymboree!
Bridget January 23rd, 2006, 10:52 AM I bought this on ebay yesterday. I paid too much for it, it is true. I got caught up in the moment. :shuffle:
Mellissa January 23rd, 2006, 11:02 AM Oh- but it's so cute Bridget!!!
kim January 23rd, 2006, 11:23 AM i like new rose bridget  unfortunately my 6-12 set(new rose dress and pants in cloud) just tanked on ebay and i didn't get nearly what i thought it would. i'm pretty sore over that.
Bridget January 23rd, 2006, 11:40 AM Too bad your stuff isn't in our size. My mom and I are bidding on crap like mad and it's all going pretty high (although from what I've researched I should say it is selling for fairly typical prices...). I paid like $30 for my set - seems like most sets I'm bidding on in the 12-24 mo. range are going for $15-20?
What do you think a typical set might sell for? I guess like anything it's all about the size.
I'm guessing on sizes too. I know Naartjie sizing is weird, so I'm kind of trusting what the seller says about how it fits/runs. We'll see.
Here's another set I'm wanting. Ahna would look so cute in that!
http://i22.ebayimg.com/03/i/06/00/5d/63_1.JPG
Mellissa January 23rd, 2006, 11:42 AM Oooooo- I love those stripes!
Alyson January 23rd, 2006, 11:45 AM Bridget.. remember!!..I can go buy stuff for you!:) So you don't pay way too much on ebay!! Sometimes I think Naartjie stuff sells for more on ebay than it does in stores!! lol
Love the 2 outfits!!!!
Bridget January 23rd, 2006, 11:57 AM You're right. I forgot about that. I just really loved that particular outfit. There were about five I wanted ending all at the same time so I just went for that one. No question I paid too much though.
kim January 23rd, 2006, 12:57 PM hmm..i think that little girl's mom is on my gymbo board . $30 is not that bad for new rose. totally worth it too...i loved G's set.
i would NOT pay a lot on ebay for summer naartjie however. no no no!!! for one, it goes on sale WAY before summer and you can get it cheap right from the store especially if you are buying small sizes.
that's my naart nugget of the day.
Nicole January 23rd, 2006, 05:30 PM I love New Rose!! Both my girls have a bit of New Rose that they've worn a grand total of 1 time so far this season!
snowangel January 25th, 2006, 08:33 PM Hey everyone. I am TOTALLY new to this site. I am a Naartjie Addict I tell ya! I just started buying it this month during the big year end sale and I have a HUGE load of clothes on the way. Stuff from the winter and holiday lines. I can't wait to get it all!
I am sorry that one of you has had bad CS at a couple of the stores. Because I do all my ordering over the phone or email, I have to say that I have had GREAT wonderful service! I think that's because the managers do the phone and email orders.
Because I ordered so much sale stuff, I am IMPATIENTLY waiting for the Dragonfly line to go on sale. I really want to order the dress and pants and the tie dye dress..but I must wait.
Apparently the new spring line will be up tomorrow. I am way too excited.
I have looked on Ebay and the stuff goes for more than in the stores! So weird! People seem to be crazy for the stuff.
Anyway, I hope I can join in the Naartjie talk around here. I am home with two little ones. My DD is 10 months and my DS is 2.5yrs. It is SO cold outside, so we have been inside a lot this last month. URGH!
From, Mel
Bridget January 26th, 2006, 09:58 PM Hi Mel! Forgot to post yesterday and just noticed you online.
I can't wait for the new stuff either... and I've been learning my lesson about the ebay Naartjie experience... good advice from everyone in here on that.
Hope to see you around! Plenty of clothing addicts to hang out with here. :wavey:
zen January 28th, 2006, 02:50 AM The new line is going out fast. I go to the Naartjie in UTC, San Diego, and they're already running out of sizes! It's crazy!
Nicole January 28th, 2006, 12:22 PM I was just wondering if anyone is interested in Spring 2 from last year, the butterfly line (http://naartjie.homestead.com/spring2o2005/sp2girlkidmainpage.html). I have a set Abby wore, a 3, and one Addy wore, 12-18, the color is clear.
Bridget January 28th, 2006, 12:26 PM Is it the whole outfit Nicole? I'm talking the 12-18. I get kind of confused with their pics sometimes - what is a dress/what's a shirt/skirt... KWIM?
BTW how did you access those old pages?
Nicole January 28th, 2006, 12:32 PM I can take a picture of it when I get home today Bridget, it's the flutter sleeve tshirt, capris, denim jumper and socks.
Kim, saved all of the old line links in a thread, smart chickie that she is!!
Bridget January 28th, 2006, 03:15 PM OK Nicole - that would be great!
Kim - question if you happen to see this...http://www.naartjie.homestead.com/spring12006/sp1girlkidfashion.html\ (http://www.naartjie.homestead.com/spring12006/sp1girlkidfashion.html/)
There's a pic in the upper right of this page - big girl and toddler. With Naartjie sometimes I can't figure out all the pieces shown in the pic. I adore the toddler outfit, but is it a skirt? And what shirt? Is this obvious to everyone else?
I'd love this as an Easter set for Ahna, but I can't even figure out for sure if it is in her size.
Here's my guess:
knit rosy top
crochet jersey
and the rest, while it resembles some of the skirts shown, none of the patterns seem to match
ME DUMB. Are you banned from a clothing line if you can't figure out the stupid pictures?
Help!
Nicole January 28th, 2006, 04:39 PM I can answer the question for you Bridget (because I am oh so smart  ) But really it's a hard site to navigate and the pictures aren't really all that great. Of course I think the stores are crammed full and hard to navigate too, but I digress. The little girl's gorgeous outfit is
Poplin Faded/Ditsy Rosy Hat
Poplin Vicki Dress
The pants are either the solid or ditsy print applique pants or the knit rosy pants (putting my money on the last one)
3D flower soft shoe
And I'm pretty sure those tricky bastards used the crochet jersey from Spring Trans 1 for final touch.
HTH!
Bridget January 28th, 2006, 06:22 PM Nicole - http://www.emotipad.com/newemoticons/Band.gif You rock.
Nicole January 29th, 2006, 09:51 AM Thanks Bridget I try! I totally spaced and forgot to get a picture yesterday, but my excuse is that I was asleep by 8 pm because I feeling crappy!!
But to make it up to you here is one of Addy in the outfit on Easter last year wearing it

Bridget January 30th, 2006, 10:11 PM Hey Nicole... sorry to just be responding now. Thanks for posting the pic. I think I'm going to pass for now. We just got a residual bill today from Ahna's birth (from last MAY :angry2: ) that's about 850 clams, so I am going to restrict myself from buying much misc. stuff (the fun stuff!) this month. THANKS ANYWAY!!!
It is really adorable!
dani_momto3 January 30th, 2006, 11:05 PM I have 2 girls and used to live in CA. Since I moved to Atlanta, I haven't been able to break my Naartjie addiction. I order from Mary Beth at the Rancho Cucamonga Store (Tel: (909) 803-2888). She is SOOOO nice and helpful. The clothese hold up so well that I am always able to pass them from my older girl to my younger one and then even down to my niece. Plus you can't beat the sales!
Bridget February 1st, 2006, 05:11 PM I just like saying Rancho Cucamonga!
Alyson February 1st, 2006, 05:34 PM Dani momto3 - That is one of the stores that I do most of my Naartjie shopping at! That is also the ONLY Naartjie store that has had nice employees! The girls there are very sweet and always willing to help and seem genuinely happy to be there! Where in CA did you live?
Bridget..:locolaugh you would love to say Rancho Cucamonga! LOL sounds like something you'd say. Thats where I started going to college!
Bridget February 1st, 2006, 06:04 PM I like it best with the echo effect...
RANCHO..ANCHO..ANCHO..ANCHO...
COOOOOOOOO
CAMONGA!!!!!!!!
:locolaugh
BTW thanks for the tip Dani!!
Eva February 1st, 2006, 07:16 PM I just bought this outfit from a Canadian online consignment store. Any clue what line it is from?

I don't think it's the crochet jersey from the Spring Trans. If I'm not mistaken, that piece only have 1 button. So I'm guessing this item is not out for grabs yet. Maybe in the next line? Haha.. it's a tease to keep us super excited for the next spring trans!
Kath February 2nd, 2006, 09:40 PM I am so excited!! I just won my first ever Naartjie on ebay!! So that, plus the outfit I'm buying from Jenn....YAY! Finally some Naartjie in this house!
Bridget February 3rd, 2006, 12:58 AM Yay for you Kath! I only got my first stuff in January, but I am totally digging it, too.
Dawn February 3rd, 2006, 06:30 AM I am so excited!! I just won my first ever Naartjie on ebay!! So that, plus the outfit I'm buying from Jenn....YAY! Finally some Naartjie in this house!
Great, Kath! I need to get us some more Naartjie up in here! It's been a while!
kim February 3rd, 2006, 08:32 AM eva i've never seen that print before...i shall look around.
kath - funny i asked jenn the same ? about the sizing and i bought the other set
kim February 3rd, 2006, 08:50 AM good buy it now on this dress from the heart line. (i already have it for next year or i woulda snatched it  )

Gianna & Katie will be Naartjie twins in their outfits!! Since we probably don't live very far apart maybe we need to get the girls together for some retail therapy in their matching N outifts. :heee:
I think I have a new love for the Lolli Funny Flower line for some reason. :shuffle: I can't wait to get the outfit from ebay!!
Kath February 12th, 2006, 09:10 AM Here is our first Naartjie outfit!! I love the color, and its so light-weight and soft for summer! Its 18-24m though and fits pretty well now though, so I don't know if it will in a few months. :( These aren't the best pictures since Katie won't stay still for pictures anymore.

Alyson February 12th, 2006, 08:26 PM Katie looks adorable!!! We have the sundress from that line and love it! I'm hoping it will fit Brookelyn again this summer!
Karri February 13th, 2006, 05:44 PM sooooooo cute, kath!!!
Bridget February 14th, 2006, 10:07 PM I just bought this on ebay for a nice little price... I remembered what you said Kim about not paying too much on the summer merch. I paid... wait, what did I pay... :bolt: $6.50 which I don't think is bad.
http://i1.ebayimg.com/04/i/05/ef/24/fb_1_b.JPG
I've got another outfit coming up soon I hope to get... it's just a simple little short set so hoping it goes for cheap. We'll see.
http://i11.ebayimg.com/02/i/06/30/42/b6_1.JPG
kim February 15th, 2006, 08:28 AM that second set is happy spot from summer '04 and can sometimes go real high but hopefully in the small size you'll snag it cheap
Bridget February 15th, 2006, 05:05 PM My mom and I are ordering this whole outfit for Ahna, excluding the little sweater which I'm still hoping will go on sale.
I'm sweating a bit over the sizes... she'll wear it Easter weekend, and then through the summer... so I'm ordering 12-18 but I'm worried..........
Eva February 15th, 2006, 05:15 PM My mom and I are ordering this whole outfit for Ahna, excluding the little sweater which I'm still hoping will go on sale.

I love love that outfit. I have been debating getting the dress and capris. The only thing stopping me is that their ordering system seems like such a hassel especially with me being in Canada.
Bridget February 15th, 2006, 05:20 PM It is a pain in the butt and I'm in the US! I wish they'd change things to make it a bit easier... but so far it has worked OK. You just feel at the mercy of the store you contact to help you out...
Alyson February 15th, 2006, 05:21 PM Bridget.. just do it.. and Eva too! lol
I LOVE that outfit and I'm sure it'll be our next Naartjie purchase, minus the sweater cause I know Brookelyn would hardly wear it.. and it's too hot here in the summer for a sweater... soooo cute though!!!!
Bridget February 15th, 2006, 05:24 PM I thought you'd like that Alyson. I was just telling my mom about you. We both submitted our orders so hopefully they'll have it in stock.
What are your thoughts on the pants? Should I go 12-18? She's still in 6-12 Gymbo but outgrowing all their pants except stretch pants/leggings.
Alyson February 15th, 2006, 05:38 PM I always buy Brookelyn a size smaller than what she normally wears when I buy Naartjie.. In fact most of her 18-24 month stuff is still huge on her!!!
kim February 15th, 2006, 08:51 PM bridget naartjie pants tend to run pretty long.
i just got my dragonfly dress and pants in the mail (a friend in oregon shopped for me)...and i have to say...I FREAKIN' LOVE IT! i got the caribbean color and it's gorgeous. i didn't have time to have G try it on though since i did a mini gymbo fashion show and well, she hates that.
i might have her wear it this weekend if it stays above 40 degrees , it's a trans line but really not much lighter than the heart dress i already have.
kim February 15th, 2006, 08:52 PM oh and i'm getting the vicki dress when it goes on sale for sure.
~Jenn February 16th, 2006, 09:38 AM The only thing stopping me is that their ordering system seems like such a hassel especially with me being in Canada.
Eva, they're *great* about shipping to Canada! I seriously had no problems when I did it, I was really, really impressed!
I found another picture of the girls wearing Naartjie...the line is from summer 2004, I think...but I had the pictures done last summer (so, 2005).
Oh, it's blurry, sorry...it's a picture of a picture, but you get the idea! I love that they can wear the stuff again this year, I think!
Bridget February 16th, 2006, 10:17 AM I know it is a boneheaded thing of us to get this outfit NOT on sale but I've missed several items recently at some stores because I waited too long... so I figured I'd bite the bullet since I want it for Easter weekend and some pics. Plus my mom is buying the dress itself so :woo:
oh and i'm getting the vicki dress when it goes on sale for sure.
Jenn, the girls look really cute!
I drove by the Keedo store yesterday after running in J&J but DID NOT let myself go in. It looked like they had some cute stuff...

Jenn. do you remeber which store you used? Also was shipping and duty resonable...how did they ship?
Love ethe picture of the girls. Love that shade of blue. :)
~Jenn February 16th, 2006, 02:01 PM What are some of the names of the stores? I ordered from two...I believe one started with a "B".
Shipping and duty were totally reasonable, and I'm pretty sure they shipped FedEx (or Purolator, one of the two). It wasn't in my mailbox, it came to my door.
Vague enough for you?!
Eva February 16th, 2006, 03:14 PM Thanks Jenn. Brea is the one with the "b". Maybe I will make a plunge.
Still debating. :heee:
Alyson February 17th, 2006, 02:05 AM Eva you could always call the Rancho Cucamonga store (CA)! They're super sweet there! I DO NOT recommend calling the Sherman Oaks or Glendale stores!.. also in CA! They're rude and b*tchy there!
Bridget February 18th, 2006, 08:36 AM I DO NOT recommend calling the Sherman Oaks or Glendale stores!.. also in CA! They're rude and b*tchy there!
Let's all call those stores, place lengthy and complicted requests, then when they get everything together yell PSYCH! and hang up.
Nicole February 18th, 2006, 10:30 AM The Arden Fair store is pretty good, better in person but not bad to work with by phone/email...
Here's one picture of the girls in summer Naartjie (got them on clearance last year for under $10 for both!!)

Kath February 18th, 2006, 01:42 PM CUTE Nicole!! I love both of those pink outfits!!!
Here is Katie trying on the outfit I bought from Jenn. I love it! I would love to take pictures on the beach in this outfit this summer. Its a 12-18 and she has *plenty* of room to grow. I think this may still fit her when she is 3!! She has the white capris on underneath but you can't really see them here....
(Excuse the mess.... :shuffle: )

Dawn February 18th, 2006, 02:02 PM Nicole - Those outfits are great! I LOVE them! Man, just when I say my girls are DONE for the spring/summer....I think I need to get them one or 2 Naartjie outfits. :blush2: It's been a while....too long. I need to look on the website to see what they have! Are there any sales going on, does anyone know?
Kath...LOVE that outfit and it would be great to take pics on the beach!
Nicole February 19th, 2006, 06:00 PM Buy Naartjie right now if you are planning to Dawn, they have Kid Kash, like Gymbucks. I just ordered each of the girls an outfit from Spring 1 and Spring 2, as well as the ditsy print swimsuit from spring 1. Can't wait to get them!!
Kath February 19th, 2006, 06:09 PM How does Kid Kash work? Like how much do you have to spend, and is there special dates you have to redeem, like GymBucks? Guess I could go check out the website and see if that info is there! :bolt:
Nicole February 19th, 2006, 06:15 PM They are pretty much Gymbucks Kath, excpet you only $20 off of $50, stinks but I didn't buy to get them so I'm just calling them a bonus
Bridget February 19th, 2006, 06:19 PM http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/MommyToSassyM/sophie2101.jpg
I earned one KK thingie with my Vicki dress set purchase but have never done it before... :heee:
Next thing I want it this set... the Lawn and Wispy Butterfly Tank in marshmallow and the Fancy Pants. I also want those Harem pants that are on sale. I love those...
I also like that ultra ruffly thingie the little girl is wearing on the prints page on Spring 1, but I'm still trying to figure out all the pieces.
Nicole February 19th, 2006, 06:26 PM I'll figure it out for you on Tuesday Bridget, I think that's fun to do. I got the Vicki dress for Addy too!
Kath February 19th, 2006, 07:18 PM Ok, that explains it. And then you have specific dates in March to use your KK ($20 off another $50, right?) I'm trying to decide if I want to order....
And see, its pictures like Bridget posted that makes me want more! That's such a cute set!! I need to stay off these boards.
Bridget February 19th, 2006, 07:36 PM I need to stay off these boards.
http://yelims2.free.fr/Demons/Demon47.gif Check out any time you like, but you can never leave.
Thanks Nicole. I was hoping you would rescue me.
Oh and Kath I don't think I commented on how sweet your little one looks in that white dress! :love1:

kim February 20th, 2006, 01:05 PM kath that white outfit looks so cute!
nicole - funny, gianna is wearing the shadowcheck outfit today  dh dressed her..he is learning!

Bridget, that's adorable! And ya got it for a great price too! Was that a BIN or was it bid on?
Bridget February 20th, 2006, 05:33 PM If you can believe it was a regular auction... :wtf: It's so bizarre because some Naartjie goes through the roof and other stuff doesn't.
I wonder if this is kind of sheer?? If so that may be why because it seems like some people (on GR anyway) hate the sheet stuff, like the new lawn set in Spring 2, which I totally love.
Nicole February 21st, 2006, 10:40 AM You actually meant spring 2 prints didn't you Bridget? I'm pretty sure you did and she's wearing:
Lawn Whispey Butterfly Dress
Lawn Holiday Fancy Pants
and possibly the Whispey Butterfly Skirt
Bridget February 21st, 2006, 12:02 PM Yeah, I meant Spring 2... should have gone back and looked.
THANK YOU NICOLE!!! I wondered if she was wearing a skirt too... I think you are right.
I guess the lawn stuff is seriously see through, but I figure when I get it I'll just put a onesie under it. You think that would be OK? I think it would work.

Alyson February 21st, 2006, 12:17 PM We went to Naartjie and I only bought ONE outfit!!.. uggh!... Brookelyn was being a brat and DH was getting antsy to go home!... Shopping is so much easier without him! lol So here it is!
Oh.. and Bridget!.. I didn't think that the Lawn stuff was too see through... Theres a ton of it I'll be going back to get though! I don't think there was anything that I didn't like in that store yesterday!!
Nicole February 21st, 2006, 12:33 PM Brooklyn looks adorable!! We didn't get that outfit but I'm thinking when it comes time to spend my KK...
Bridget~ I try to help when I can. She has to be wearing the skirt too, it's way too full for just the dress.
Alyson February 21st, 2006, 12:41 PM ITA with Nicole!.. The dress does not look that full... There's got to be a skirt under there!
Bridget February 21st, 2006, 01:47 PM Alyson I love that outfit!!!! She looks so cute.
Good to hear from you on the lawn outfit, all I have to go off of is the info on GR and I don't really know anyone there. I saw your post too late yesterday to ask you to look specifically for me. Some of the GR women are acting like only some pervert would put their kid in that outfit... but I think the stuff looks really sweet and wispy. :)
Nicole February 21st, 2006, 02:01 PM Bridget, haven't you figured out that the women on GR are FREAKS?!? They have such off the wall opinions and just freak for the sake of freaking!
Bridget February 21st, 2006, 02:10 PM No? What do you mean? :locolaugh
Yeah, there are some scary folks over there, but I can't resist snooping for pics of kids in their duds and scanning the BST. I've gotten some great J&J there. It's definitely not a forum where I'll ever post a lot or feel "at home" though, just too weird in general.
Bridget, haven't you figured out that the women on GR are FREAKS?!? They have such off the wall opinions and just freak for the sake of freaking!
Alyson February 21st, 2006, 03:41 PM What in the heck is GR?!?! I'm lost!
Bridget February 21st, 2006, 03:43 PM GymboRebel, aka, GymboReallyCrazy.
Although I shouldn't complain since I just got the J&J striped tights I was looking for off of there.
What in the heck is GR?!?! I'm lost!
Bridget February 24th, 2006, 11:08 AM I got a bunch of stuff (ebay and store) in the mail yesterday... hope Ahna is up to some pics today. The Vicki dress is TDF. The shes I got don't match though. :wtf:
Nicole February 24th, 2006, 11:15 AM My stuff came yesterday, but we weren't there so I have to go to the PO to pick it up, stupid dc!!
Dawn February 24th, 2006, 11:31 AM Bridget & Nicole - can't wait to see the new loot ya got! Especially in pics of your cuties modeling them :awink:
Bridget February 24th, 2006, 02:40 PM Here's a couple... few more going in my photo journal.

Eva February 24th, 2006, 06:39 PM Awww  Ahna is adorable in those outfits. I love them.
Kath February 24th, 2006, 07:08 PM LOVE Ahna in her new little outfits! She is so cute!!
kim February 25th, 2006, 05:43 PM gianna started off in hanna today but somehow got soaked while we were out shopping. i thought i'd take a pic of this since you don't see this outfit every day (yes this was my diaper bag extra outfit. G is that stylish  )

Alyson March 6th, 2006, 02:32 AM Nicole!! Too cute!! OMG I need another girl so tha tI can do the matchy match thing!! I love it!
Alyson March 14th, 2006, 02:27 PM Ok is it just me or is there NOTHING on the site right now!? I just went to make a list to place an order with my 15% off coupon and tehre is like nothing there!!! ughh...
Bridget March 14th, 2006, 04:02 PM How the farq did I miss these last pictures? Nicole and Kim those are too cute. I love the bellabloom on G and Nicole I love seeing those dresses in blue (powder? can't remember the color). But my fave I think it the swimsuit shot.
I haven't been on the Naartjie website for a couple of weeks - I'm waiting to use my Kids Kash thingamajig I earned. I keep thinking they'll have a big sale, too, but apparently not yet. :(
Dawn March 15th, 2006, 10:36 AM Ok is it just me or is there NOTHING on the site right now!? I just went to make a list to place an order with my 15% off coupon and tehre is like nothing there!!! ughh...
Alyson, your right....there's nothing under 'necessities' and only a couple things under 'essentials'! :blue: However, I am thinking of getting something for Alexia in the 'fashion' section, since the sale ends today.
We really like the denim & whispey butterfly dress w/ the knit whispey butterfly pants http://naartjie.homestead.com/spring22006/sp2girlkidfashion.html (http://naartjie.homestead.com/spring22006/sp2girlkidfashion.html%20I)She liked the powder color (the same color as the one pictured that the girl is wearing). But not sure what size pants to get. :dunno:
She's 29 lbs. and about 38 1/2" but very petite, according to the size chart she should be getting a size 3. But is that accurate? I'm afraid the pants will be huge on her. And what about the dress as well? She has a pair of pants in 18-24 mos. from an older collection that just started getting a little too short. In that one, a size 2 would be good. What size do you think I should get for this one? Ideas?
Dawn March 15th, 2006, 10:40 AM Nicole...OMG, I just noticed this (sorry, i started posting without reading what i missed first). This is exactly the outfit I'm talking about getting (gosh, we have the same taste, don't we? ) Had I seen this I would of saved that time by trying to describe what I'm wanting to get her, and would of just posted this pic. Since you have this already, let me know what size you think I should get for Alexia. Thanks Nicole! But I'm debating whether I should get the plain color pants like you got or the printed ones like the girl in the pic is wearing. :tearhair: I like them both ways! The pics are tooooo cute, Nicole! :aok: Oh, I also want to get her the sandals since they come in powder too (and the head scarf too  ) Ok, I just asked her which pants and she likes the plain ones better..... :)

Alyson March 15th, 2006, 11:57 AM Dawn, Brookelyn is 27.5 lbs and around 36 inches tall. Sometimes I buy her 18-24 months in Naartjie because then it fits her (or is at least only a tad big in the waist), but the length is really getting to be to short now. I think I'll buy her 2T's from now on because the length fits her well, but the waist will be HUGE!!... my mom said she'd help me sew some ribbon inside or something to cinch the waist up while they don't fit hers! I think Brookelyn will also need a 3 (because of her heighth) by fall... but I think the waist on the pants will be humongo on her!! lol!!... I'd say buy a 2 or 3 but I don't know... sorry I wasn't much help, after all of that rambling!

Thanks Alyson! :) Yea, I can't decide whether to get her a size 2 or 3! :tearhair:
:bullhorn: Hello Nicole...where are you? Since Abby turned 4 recently, and Alexia will be 4 in 10 days...they may be the same/similar stats & hopefully I'll know what size I should get!
Alyson...Will you be getting anything? Sale ends today (the 15% off).
Alyson March 15th, 2006, 12:55 PM Yes, I'm going to find something, even though they don't have a big selection! I'm hoping though, that if I call the Rancho store the girl will tell me what they have there, that might not be on the website! :) They're really nice there!
Dawn March 15th, 2006, 01:01 PM Yes, I'm going to find something, even though they don't have a big selection! I'm hoping though, that if I call the Rancho store the girl will tell me what they have there, that might not be on the website! :) They're really nice there!
Thats good to know. I didn't know which store I should call to put the order in. Rancho it is. I'm still trying to give Nicole some more time to get online and read this.....
Dawn March 15th, 2006, 03:02 PM Ok....I was on the phone with the girl placing my order (Mary Beth at Rancho....very sweet!). She'll be calling me back in 10 min. though....
But she recommended the pomey colored pants for this.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6dc07b3127cce9732e409d3bd00000025118AYtmLho0ZNN
She said the color pink brings out the pink print in the dress, and says it looks good. I don't know though...what do you think? For now, I told her "ok..the pomey color", but me getting confused. I think we'll give it a shot...she said if i really don't like it i can return it. So I got size 3 for Alexia (I'm getting the feeling the pants will be really big....not sure though). And when she calls back I'm getting the dress for Angelina....in a size 12-18 mos. with the pomey colored pants as well. I hope I made a good choice..... ???
Ok...order done. Should receive by Saturday. Again, I hope the pomey colored pants look good and we'll see how the sizing is. :crossfing:
zen March 17th, 2006, 10:09 PM Someone mentioned that the Naartjie pants now are short? I think it's because they're doing capris for spring and summer, even though it's described as pants. And yeah, there's pretty much nothing on the website, but when you go to the store, the majority of the store is pretty much on sale, with the exception of the new spring line. They were really cool this time, allowing us to use the 15% coupon more than once. I think they should do that every time.
Oh, I heard they're getting a new shipment soon!! I can't wait to see what they look like!!!!!!!!!! YAY!! =D
Dawn March 17th, 2006, 11:59 PM WOW, that was fast! I received my Naartjie order today!! :ura1: However, Mary Beth put in the wrong dress (for Alexia)! I got the 'lawn whispey butterfly dress' instead of the 'denim & whispey butterfly dress.' Argh! And it turns out that the leather bell sandals I got for Alexia in a size 10 are HUGE. Even though she won't be wearing it until the summer, there's still no way her foot is going to grow that much. SO....she is sending me the right dress and those sandals in a size 9. :) I will ship the lawn dress & the size 10's to her on monday.
Oh, and I'm holding onto the pomey colored pants (capris) to go with the dress and she's also going to be sending me the 'knit whispey butterfly pants' (same one pictured as the girl is wearing w/ the denim dress on the site) so I can determine which one I want with the dress. She still personally likes the pomey colored ones with it...but we'll see.
I really love, love the stuff though!!! As for Angelina's order, it's adorable! I have yet to try it on her still. It looks like the 12-18 would be good for her though. We'll see. Oh, I took pics of Alexia with the stuff that came, even though it was wrong....and I want to post it but I can't find the darn cord to plug in my camera :tearhair: I think it's stuck behind the desk or something....I haven't got a clue, but I'm trying to find it! I will post pics though (even though it's the wrong dress) when/if I ever find the cord, just so you girls can see. :)
Dawn March 18th, 2006, 12:01 AM Someone mentioned that the Naartjie pants now are short? I think it's because they're doing capris for spring and summer, even though it's described as pants.
Yep, they are capris length. Really cute though...and look awesome with the sandals/flip flops.
Which, btw in case this is of interest to anyone or if ya didn't know. With the sandals, if it's a size 9 or under it will have the strap in the back so it looks more like a sandal. If it's size 10 or bigger it will NOT have the strap and it's more of a flip flop. Just an FYI. :)
Nicole March 18th, 2006, 11:15 AM Dawn, sorry I didn't get here before you placed your order. How did the pants look? I love the way Abby's set looks, every piece I got her was a 4 and they fit perfectly. We got size 11 sandals and they fit too, but Abby has big feet. Can't wait to see pics of your girls in their loot!
Dawn March 19th, 2006, 11:35 AM Thanks Nicole! I wanted to ask ya...what are Abby's stats (height & Weight?). Oh, I think the pants look good, and I really love that pomey color, but I won't know how it'll look with the denim dress until it comes in. I also have the printed pants coming in too, so I can see which ones I like better with it. :)
I found the plug and here are the pics.....(even though we're returning the dress)
Here is the lawn dress that will be returned. It runs small, folks...so in case you were interested in getting the lawn dress. Had I wanted to keep this dress, I would probably get her a size 4. She is wearing a size 3 and it's almost too perfect. These are the pomey colored pants, size 3. The sandals are also being returned for a size 9.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6dd38b3127cce97996782e8e300000015108EZt2zNozai
And another pic with the headscarf on. Don't mind the bumpiness on it...she's wearing her hair in a hairband on the top of her head.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6dd38b3127cce97996784e8e500000015108EZt2zNozai
It really is a cute set....I do love it all...even down to the sandals. I will take a pic of her in the denim dress when it comes in... :) Maybe you guys can also help me decide which pants look better with it too. :)
Bridget March 19th, 2006, 11:40 AM OMG I love that.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6dd38b3127cce97996782e8e300000015108EZt2zNozai
Is the dress in Apricot? And are those the Knit Whispy pants?
I think I know where I'll be using my Kids Kash. Good to know on the sizing though. :) Pomey... Where the heck do they cook up their color names?
Dawn March 19th, 2006, 11:45 AM OMG I love that.

Is the dress in Apricot? And are those the Knit Whispy pants?
Sorry, I should clarify so everyone knows....
The dress color is 'powder'. for comparison/reference, I believe Abby is wearing the apricot color, right Nicole?
The pants are the 'Knit Solid Flower Applique Pants' under essentials. However, we also have a pair of the Knit Whispey Butterfly Pants coming in, and you'll be able to see what they look like on when I take a pic. :) Oh, and her sandals are in the powder color too. Pants are pomey, like mentioned before. I know...who thinks of these names?
Even the girl at the store told me that this lawn dress runs small.
I still need to take a pic of Angelina in her gettup.
Bridget March 19th, 2006, 11:49 AM As much as I like Naartjie I seem to be missing the "decipher the website genome." Thanks Dawn!
Dawn March 19th, 2006, 11:51 AM As much as I like Naartjie I seem to be missing the "decipher the website genome." Thanks Dawn!
 I hear ya, Bridget.
No problemo!
Karri March 19th, 2006, 12:26 PM I think I would have kept the wrong order. I really like that dress Alexia has on!
Dawn March 20th, 2006, 06:26 PM Thanks Karri. :) yea, I'm likin' the 'wrong' outfit too. The new one came today and I'm gonna see how I like that one on. But I'm thinking she may need a size 4 though...looks like it runs small too. :( Even if I were to keep the wrong outfit, I would definitely exchange that one for a 4, because the dress fits way too perfect.
Here's Ang in her gettup:
Pants and dress are both 12-18 mos. Pants are rolled down one time (and it still don't look like they are capris  ). She certainly has room to grow in this dress, but not sure if it looks overly ridiculous w/ the pants since the dress is so big?? Whatcha think? Keep the sizes and stuff or go for 6-12 mos?OH...and HOLY MOLY REALLY SMALL HAT!!! These hats run super small, ladies! This hat is a size 18 mos-36 mos. and I'm thinking I may need to echange it. The tags are still on it, so don't mind that...but it's really snug! on her head. Just by looking at the hat, I thought they had given me the wrong size. it looks like it's a 0-12 mo. hat!!

This is the Knit Whispey Butterfly Dress in powder. The pants are the Knit Solid Flower Applique Pants in pomey.
Bridget March 20th, 2006, 09:52 PM Dawn OMG those pics are so adorable I can't stand it. :love1: :love2:
I do think the dress looks a bit long with the pants though, even for Naartjie... what to do, what to do... I might exchange it, but's just me. I don't mind the pants not being a true capri length, though. :)
I know the hats do run small. The last one I ordered (the flowery one whatsits name OY!) they had me order it in a size or two bigger than I needed. I should take a look and come back and note it here when I get a sec.
Dawn March 20th, 2006, 10:56 PM Thanks for the honest input, Bridget. Much appreciated. But darn it...still don't know what to do...what to do! I need more input/advice from my fellow Naartjie-eers!
Keep as is? Get smaller size in dress/pants or both? Another option which is?
I'm open to anything and will not be offended either! Me so confused and don't know what to do.
Bridget March 20th, 2006, 11:21 PM :)
The good news is Dawn, your kids will look cute no matter what.
Dawn March 20th, 2006, 11:23 PM :)
The good news is Dawn, your kids will look cute no matter what.
Awe, how sweet! Thank you! :hug99:
Alyson March 21st, 2006, 11:55 AM Ok Dawn.. I'll give my input:)
I'd go with the smaller dress. Cause you know it'll fit her... and look totally cute with the pants...and she'll still get alot of use out of it, cause even when it gets 'too' short, she can wear it with the pants still.... And, I agree with Bridget!... they'll look cute no matter what!
Dawn March 22nd, 2006, 09:31 AM Ok Dawn.. I'll give my input:)

So true, Bridget. Thanks so much! :)
OK...hope your all not getting sick of me. I'm jacking this thread up with all the new gettup I'm posting because me so confused. I LOVE Naartjie, but blind shopping kinda sucks (especially when the sizes run all over the place).
Here's Alexia in the original dress we wanted:
Please tell me which one you like better....
Do we like it with these pomey colored pants better (the Knit Solid Flower Applique Pants)?....
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6dd03b3127cce978bbeb11cf000000015108EZt2zNozai
OR
with these Knit Whispey Butterfly Pants in powder to match the dress.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6dd03b3127cce978bbebe9dcf00000015108EZt2zNozai
OR do you think they'll just look better with solid powder colored pants which is the color of the dress?
I think I'm keeping the dress in the size 3 (I thought I would need a 4)...because it's not too snug around the armpits and a 4 would make it really big, I think. These sandals are keepers....size 9 and still some room to grow.
Let me know which one ya think (even though Alexia already told me which pants she likes better with it). I would like to return the rest of the stuff today.
Dawn March 22nd, 2006, 09:35 AM Sorry folks...just need to see these 2 side by side.

have you guys seen new line? i am :pant: at the baby girl sundress. both the kg and bg sundresses are TDF!
i.will.wait.for.first.markdown
Dawn March 22nd, 2006, 10:19 AM you'd probably get more use out of the second one in summer dawn.
Thanks Kim. Yep, I am keeping the denim one...as I really like it. I think I'll just go with the pomey colored pants to go w/ it. Those are the ones that Alexia liked better anyway. Also, I think I've decided to return Ang's dress for a 6-12 mos. and when that outgrows her, it will be worn like a top with the pants.
Kim...where you seeing these new dresses at? Show me! I didn't see any on the site.
kim March 22nd, 2006, 10:28 AM Kim...where you seeing these new dresses at? Show me! I didn't see any on the site.
they're supposed to be online tomorrow. i assumed people were posting on GR? i see them on my private board :blush1:
lemme go see what's up at GR :bolt:

Freak! I have to sign on and it's been so long I dunno if I remember my username/password. I have to go try it when I get a moment.
Bridget March 23rd, 2006, 05:14 PM I bought a bunch of the new lines that were posted today.  I'll post it all later - it's combos of the floaty fish stuff - dress, tunics, pants and shorts and OF COURSE a headband. Too bad I only had one of the KK things... two would have been perfect. Oh well.
kim March 23rd, 2006, 05:17 PM i am dying for the bg floaty fish sundress. i really can't see putting capris on gianna in summer though...i'll probably just get the dress and resale be damned!
the tunic is running tight in the chest so i might skip it for ms. buddha but it is TDF if you ask me.
i demand pics the second you get them bridget!
Bridget March 23rd, 2006, 05:20 PM Well I had the same issue with the pants. It's hotter than shit here in the summer and I always forget that and am buying pants... but I still ordered two pair. I did ask them to let me know how thick the knit ones were so I could substitute if need be.
I stuck to the color schemes of white warm, jellytot and lemongrass. I got the floaty dress (white warm) and knit fancy pants (maybe), the floaty tunic in jellytot and lemongrass, the white warm headband, the floaty fish pants in lemongrass (to wear with both the lemon and jellytot tunic) and then the knit solid mini embroider shorts in lemon and jelly.
Thanks to those fine baberoonies on GR I downloaded about 20 pics of theirs to use in making my decision.
Notice that the Vicki stuff is all sold already? Glad I got mine early.
Bridget March 23rd, 2006, 05:22 PM I just saw your comment about the tunic running tight in the chest. Guess I'll just see how it turns out... Ahna has a big butt and lower tummy, so hopefully we'll be OK. It's her jigglebutt! Just like her mommy!
kim March 23rd, 2006, 05:29 PM :secret: btw there are tye dye items coming in this line, the stores just haven't gotten them yet. oh i loooooves me some tye dye. oh yes.
Bridget March 23rd, 2006, 05:31 PM My mom will be happy! She loves tie dye, too. She is still mad that she missed getting Ahna one of this dip dye dresses.
Bridget March 29th, 2006, 11:47 PM Here's some crapola shots of my new loot. Ahna isn't quite into modelling yet, so I couldn't get much in the way of head on shots. And her hair looks funny in the headband.

Alyson March 29th, 2006, 11:52 PM OMG! She looks so cute in the new loot!! I love it! Especially love the Floaty dress. I'm going to have to go soon and get Brookelyn a bunch of stuff for summer!
Dawn March 30th, 2006, 06:16 AM Those outfits are sweet, Bridget! Love 'em! Don't ya hate when they aren't cooperative for pics? They just don't understand how important it is!! ;)

Sandy March 30th, 2006, 09:46 AM OMG, I knew I shouldn't have clicked on here!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE those!!! Crap!!!
Bridget March 30th, 2006, 09:57 AM Thanks guys. The "only" complaint I can offer is that the tunic tops (not the white dress) are a bit hard to get over her head. I'm debating on calling Southtown today to see if they have the next size up. They're a 12-18 and she's just now wearing that size. I worry as she grows they'll be too small. It's like the arm holes were designed too tightly... make sense?
Anyway, thought you might like to know!
Also, did you know with KK by mail you have to buy the stuff, they send it to you, then you send the receipt back with the coupon to get the discount? I don't mind, but I thought they'd just input the coupon number. Nooop.
Sandy March 30th, 2006, 03:46 PM What does KK stand for? Is there a certain store you always order from?
Oh, not good news about the small opening. Rayna goes into supreme meltdown mode in .5 seconds if we don't get the clothes over her head justthisfast. I love gymbo or TCP clothes that have the three snaps in the back. Those are perfect.
Alyson March 30th, 2006, 03:50 PM KK is for KidKash... I'm pretty sure, so used to just calling it KK! We shop mostly at and order mostly from the Rancho Cucamonga store (California). The ladies there are super nice!!
kelbelle March 30th, 2006, 03:51 PM What does KK stand for?
KidKash. It's like Gymbo's Gymbucks. :)
YURI April 4th, 2006, 09:55 PM Hi.It is a YURI. It visits for the first time here.
Naartjie is becoming popular also in Japan.
The color and the material are really lovely.
It is not near the house and I want to go to the shop. :ura1:
Bridget April 6th, 2006, 08:21 PM :wavey: Welcome Yuri! Are you writing to us from Japan? I have always wanted to visit there. My boss and his wife are both Japanese, although my boss was born in the United States, she came to the US with him upon their marriage. :)
I just won this on ebay.

I wish I could find some waterbloom stuff that is in Ahna's size that didn't go for too high. Me likey.
Dawn April 6th, 2006, 11:50 PM Bridget, I'm loving that outfit!!
YURI April 7th, 2006, 06:43 AM Oh Thank you Bridget! I am answering yep from Japan.
Daughter's photograph is sometimes sent to photo gallery of Naartjie.
That photo gallery puts to choose clothes and becomes reference very much.
I will inform when sending it next time.
Please give my best regards to your bosu. :awink:
Bridget April 7th, 2006, 09:05 AM I would love to see pics of your daughter Yuri - which page is she on?
My husband and his family are from Taiwan. My husband came here when he was five. I've sent in a picture of my daughter but it's not on the Naartjie site. :(
Dawn, have you sent in any pics? Or Kim?
kim April 7th, 2006, 10:10 AM :wavey: Yuri!
no, i haven't sent any pics in yet for the Naartjie gallery however i recognize about 80% of the kids on there as most of the ladies on are my other board .

Bridget April 8th, 2006, 09:29 AM I got my exchanged tunics yesterday in the mail. Now I've got the two floaty fish ones in 18-24 months and they sent my receipt showing I got my KK discount, although it's diminished a bit by the return shipping I paid, but oh well! :)
Karri April 8th, 2006, 10:26 AM That outfit is cute, Bridget
I reeeeeally want to buy some stuff for N, but I am trying to hold off till we go to Sac in June, so I dont have to pay for shipping and I can actually see the stuff in person.
Nicole April 8th, 2006, 12:56 PM You guys are literally killing me with new clothes!! I am not shopping until fall stuff comes out, with #3 now on the way I have to tighten those purse strings so that I can show Scott that we really can afford to clothe 3 children

Dawn April 10th, 2006, 10:55 AM How can I can figure out if there is a Naartjie store in Sarasota, FL?
Sandy, I looked on the site and under store locations, I don't see ANY in Florida at all. Most of them are in CA.
Bridget April 10th, 2006, 10:56 AM Sandy, I don't see one in Florida at all:
http://www.naartjie.homestead.com/usstores.html
Karri mentioned she was going to get into a real store. I'm tempted to ask her to take pictures but that would up my "tool" rating significantly.

YURI April 11th, 2006, 10:54 AM Hello.:wavey: It was in the naartjie photo gallery when seeing today.
This is a photograph that was the same or taken.

The line of summer2 will be a rumor of next week.:secret:
It line with a lovely following.
It gets excited. :redflower
Does anyone understand what kind of thing it is?
Or, have you arrived in the shop?
Bridget April 13th, 2006, 12:56 AM Yuri, I saw some pictures from another website. Some people get an advance copy of the catalog and I think they scanned the pictures.
The new stuff is all absolutely adorable. I am not waiting for a sale!
YURI April 13th, 2006, 01:25 AM Wow! Bridget. It is a good sound. I like Gymboree & J&J & TPC etc,,,
But naartjie clothes, the enjoyment to reaching is large. :grouphugg

Yeah!! We got our summer catalouge today!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the stuff! There's a ton of stuff I want for Brookelyn now!
Dawn April 18th, 2006, 10:41 AM Bridget - when the girl from Naartjie emailed me she said that the word on the street is that not alot of pple get one (the summer catalog). She said the new line will come in Monday (that was yesterday) and they will be all set up with it by today. Do you want me to mail you my catalog? As hard as it is, I think I'll be skipping out :blue: This is so hard for me to do, but I gotta do it. Let me know & I can mail it to you. Just think of me when you place your order in :mope:
Bridget April 18th, 2006, 11:45 AM I think I've got enough pics of the new stuff from on GR and everything but THANKS! :justahug: That's so nice of you.
I'm ordering a ton of the new stuff and that is FOR SURE. I worship the flowery crap. I worship it!

zen April 18th, 2006, 12:18 PM I asked one of the girls working yesterday why some people didn't get catalogues this time. They said that they're limiting the catalogues to local customers, since web customers will be able to view it online. So if you're local, make sure they have your address correctly. If you're not, I heard that they're going to start emailing catalogues to you. So make sure they've got your email address on file. =)
OMG the new line is coming in today. I'm so excited!!
Bridget April 20th, 2006, 02:50 PM Drat. The Naart website was supposed to update today but someone emailed them and asked and now it is going to be tomorrow. :angry2: I'm impatient!
kim April 20th, 2006, 03:15 PM i don't even have my order together yet! i'm so undecided. i need to employ the 'bridget method'.
printouts, calculator, paper dolls
Bridget April 20th, 2006, 03:49 PM paper dolls
WHO TOLD?!!!!!!
:secret: The sad thing is you are not far off the mark. I'm twisted.
kim April 20th, 2006, 05:45 PM ok i've got my pdf version of the catalogue and a pr of scissors...off to print! :lol2:
so far i am positive about:
the tiered dress in dew with the capris (even though we probably won't wear them)
- kid girl halter in size 3 (have seen it on a girl G's size and it should fit) in lemoncream...and the matching bloomers.
Sandy April 20th, 2006, 05:59 PM Dawn if you are still willing to part w/ the catalog, I would love to get it. I am a in person or catalog shopper. I am not always that great w/ a webpage.
Dawn April 21st, 2006, 12:15 AM Dawn if you are still willing to part w/ the catalog, I would love to get it. I am a in person or catalog shopper. I am not always that great w/ a webpage.
Sandy, I will check. I can't remember right now if I did actually throw it out. I'll let you know tomorrow AM. :)

Sandy...I still have it! PM me your address and I'll mail it out to you. :)
Bridget April 21st, 2006, 02:54 PM I just placed my order on the new stuff which went up on the web while I was finalizing my stuff.
I can't even tell you what all I ended up with but I used up the entire order form. I've been waiting for this new stuff, it is all sooooooo cute! Thank goodness everyone on GR has been posting catalog pages, because they've been so helpful. The website itself kind of blows.
:woo:
kim April 21st, 2006, 04:19 PM no order for me yet. i'm still deciding! it's driving me insane i tell ya.
Bridget April 21st, 2006, 04:47 PM I wonder how long till Southtown calls me back. The word is out on Rancho Cucamonga (being the cool, helpful store) so I just stuck with my old standby and hoped they'll be less busy.
kim April 21st, 2006, 04:50 PM B- i hear southtowne did not get a lot of items!
Dawn April 21st, 2006, 10:41 PM I wonder how long till Southtown calls me back. The word is out on Rancho Cucamonga (being the cool, helpful store) so I just stuck with my old standby and hoped they'll be less busy.
Bridget...call Rancho!!! And ask for MaryBeth. If you do, tell her Dawn from Jersey says hello!!!! :)
Bridget April 22nd, 2006, 09:27 AM Hey guys! :wavey: The reason I didn't call RC was that on GR tons of people were using them and a number said they were seriously backed up and not getting to emails... so I stuck with Southtown. ST is nice but they're not helpful when it comes to suggesting things... which is what I'd like so I'm going to try RC next time I think.
Anyway, poor little ST wasn't busy at all :woo: and called me back in about two hours. As usual (you're right) they don't have everything but they always ship what's missing from Fashion Place so I got everything on my list!
I "think" this is what I ordered but I changed my mind on a few things at the last minute and I feel like I'm missing a couple of things - just tees/shorts from the list. I think the big girl stuff tends to sell out faster than the little girl stuff.
-solid and henna striped dress in white warm
-matching kerchief
-poplin henna striped pants in white warm
-solid mini and henna capri in white warm
-knit w/poplin applique cami in icing, punch and lemonccream
-knit henna striped tank in icing
-knit henna striped shorts in icing
...and the sad thing is I ordered a more things but I can't remember what! I know I used the whole order blank. I kept changing my mind in my last minute frenzy and forgot to print the page. I think it was just basic pieces - lettuce edge shorts, tees, etc. :colfish:
kim May 1st, 2006, 10:04 AM i am thinking of putting up a naartjie lines site.
i have most of the color/print id's back to summer 2003. this could take some time and i'd have to actually buy some hosting space but it might be fun.
thoughts? ideas?
Bridget May 1st, 2006, 10:11 AM HELL YEAH - I mean look at the hits just on the old line links you've got posted here? TONS.
You should go for it.

Alyson May 1st, 2006, 11:01 AM Couldn't you even just do it on a yahoo or msn group kim? That'd probably work well too!
kim May 1st, 2006, 01:18 PM i could but a normal web is easier and more user friendly navigation-wise.
ok, i'm committing myself to doing this. if you have pics of older naartjie (not on the kids preferably) that i can use with your permission, please submit to me at naartjielineid at gmail dot com
i've posted this on my other board as well so hopefully i'll get some volunteers with pics :heee:
kelbelle May 3rd, 2006, 11:33 AM ok, all you naartjie buffs! i need your help. i've been wanting to buy some stuff for kailee, but just haven't yet for one reason or another (probably for fear of getting addicted like i am to gymbo).
anyway, i just received an email stating that some of the pieces have gone on sale. is there anyway to find out what the pieces look like? Here's a sample of what's in the email:
GBD645SPT6 KNIT HIPPI DRAGFLY DRESS $17.99 $14.99
GBO638SPT6 NEC CROCHET JERSEY $17.99 $11.99
Can someone please help me decipher this stuff????? Thanks!
kim May 3rd, 2006, 12:19 PM this is the knit hippy dragonfly dress and knit hippy dragonfly pants in the color caribbean:

kelbelle May 3rd, 2006, 12:42 PM :woo: Thank, Kim! I knew you would be able to help out! So, then I just have to call around to stores to see if they have the sizes/colors I want/need?
By the way, could you help on sizing? I know there are size charts, but talking to people who have acutual experience with the clothes always seems better. Do they run big/small? Kailee was 2 in Jan. She's 37" tall and about 27 lbs. (long and skinny). In Gymbo she's into 3's for tops and 12-18 months for bottoms - so they'll fit. If they have an adjustable waist she can wear a 2T. But all of her shorts and capris that I've recently bought for her are size 12-18m. Any input for Naartjie sizes?
kim May 3rd, 2006, 12:58 PM the dragonfly runs big. those pieces are 18-24, gianna is 34in and 27lbs. the pants are HUGE in the waist (i have to roll them) and long. the dress is really longish too...that pic was taken two months ago though. she is just wearing that outfit now as it's still not all that springy here in new england
not all naartjie runs big though.
this is new line (summer 2), both pieces 18-24 and fit perfectly.

kim May 3rd, 2006, 12:59 PM gymborebel is a good place to find out how things are sizing
kelbelle May 3rd, 2006, 01:20 PM Great! Thank you, Kim! I've read a few things on gymborebel, but for some reason, can't access the site when I'm at work. I'll check it out later tonight! Thanks for sharing the pics! Love 'em!
Karri May 3rd, 2006, 02:52 PM WOW! Go Kim :dude:
KristenG May 4th, 2006, 08:36 PM Our cute new Naartjie stuff! Hopefully I can get Olivia to model it later. http://baby.ourlittleuniverse.com/images/smilies/heee.gif

Luckily (though not for DH :) ) I have 2 stores within 10 miles of me.
kelbelle May 4th, 2006, 09:38 PM Wow! Very cute, Kristen! I wish I had Naartjie stores even remotely close to me. I haven't taken the plunge and placed an order yet, but I'm so ready to. Especially when I see all the cute things available!
Alyson May 4th, 2006, 11:09 PM I haven't made it to our nearest Naartjie since the new stuff.. but I'm LOVING this and will surely be buying it for Brookelyn!! Kristen, just curious (since I know you're also in So. Cal.) what Naartjie's do you go to? My nearest ones are an hour away and an hour and 20 min away :( but better than some of the girls on here!! lol:)

Bridget May 4th, 2006, 11:39 PM Kristen, don't you love it? I totally love Naartjie. 1. It's got loads of flowery crap, which I adore. 2. It's really cute but still reasonably priced.
Here's a few pics of Ahna in our recent buys... I don't have photos of all of it yet, but I've also got the same dress that Kim's Gianna is wearing. Ahna hates to model. I bought a lot when the new lines came out.

Karri May 4th, 2006, 11:47 PM So so so so so cute!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, LOVE it so much! And the clothes are so soft! Ahna is so stinking cute!!! OMG!
KristenG May 4th, 2006, 11:50 PM I haven't made it to our nearest Naartjie since the new stuff.. but I'm LOVING this and will surely be buying it for Brookelyn!! Kristen, just curious (since I know you're also in So. Cal.) what Naartjie's do you go to? My closest store is Irvine Spectrum, followed by Mission Viejo. Brea Mall is about 30 min away. I am in the middle of all 3. Kinda like a Bermuda Triangle. Eeek! I'm so sick of Gymbo right now that I guess I was bound to start obsessing about something else. Well, I love Janie & Jack...but can't afford to buy much there.
Bridget May 4th, 2006, 11:50 PM I'm so jealous you live near a store. Karri is going to visit one coming up soon and enjoy it vicariously for me. Tell me, do they import a scent like Abercrombie?
We have a Keedo here, but it just doesn't do it for me like Naartjie does. The fabric isn't as soft and too many lizard motifs.
KristenG May 5th, 2006, 12:19 AM Tell me, do they import a scent like Abercrombie?

:rotflmao: Nope, no scent wafting out the door.
What is Keedo? :shuffle:
Ok, fashion show. She's not as cute as Ahna. I miss the baby cuteness.

Kinda big, it's a 4 (s) and she usually is between 3-4 in Gymbo

Top/dress is a 3 (xs) but the straps are huge. I need to take them up so she isn't showing boobies.

Bridget May 5th, 2006, 10:25 AM Kristen she looks adorable! Ahna still has baby fat but she hates to model... so I guess you trade pudgywudginess for willingness to model.
Keedo is another South African clothier similar to Naartjie, but IMO not as cute.
http://www.keedousa.com/Default.asp?Redirected=Y
Well, clarification... they do have cute things, just not as "many" cute things. Also, sometimes I find the fabrics a bit stiffer, and they have less selection in the baby girl lines than Naart. For older girls there were several things I loved. I also like some of the boy's stuff, but it's hit or miss with me, as is Naart.
Ahna does have this for summer even though it's shown on a big girl here, they had it in little girl in the store. It's a UV top that I'm going to put over her swimsuit.

Anyway, if you ever see anything you want me to check out for you in the real store, let me know. It's just about 5-10 minutes from my office and I'm over that way a lot because it's in the same shopping center with Janie and Jack.
KristenG May 9th, 2006, 11:56 PM That stuff is pretty cute Bridget! But lord knows I don't need to find more cute clothes.
Needless to say, I am so bad...I bought more.

I am officially addicted! http://baby.ourlittleuniverse.com/images/smilies/giggle.gif
Karri May 10th, 2006, 08:49 AM You aren't kidding about the addiction, Kristen! But I do think their stuff is often more reasonably priced than Gymbo.
Anyway, so very very very cute on Livi!!!!
I have a non-clothes ? for you...
Is this a quilt in the photo? I love it. Where is it from if you dont mind me asking?

Is this a quilt in the photo? I love it. Where is it from if you dont mind me asking?
The quilt is from Pottery Barn. I have it thrown over my futon mattress in our spare room/office. It was bought in Dec 2003. Here's a better picture.
http://images1.snapfish.com/346%3A54678%7Ffp345%3Enu%3D3266%3E657%3E4%3A8%3EWS NRCG%3D3233727%3B%3C86%3A7nu0mrj
Bridget May 10th, 2006, 11:19 PM Kristen, I saw a whole set of the floaty fish capris and tees for sale on ebay (all colors in one auction). I loved being able to see all the colors, side by side. Anyway, it looked so cute I bought two more sets! You ever notice how the Naart. site doesn't show the stuff in the best light? I tend to go off of pics on GR and ebay for ideas. Anyway, I got this shirt (your pic) in white warm (my favorite as always) and lemongrass and then another pair of the capris.
http://images1.snapfish.com/346%3A46885%7Ffp342%3Enu%3D3233%3E636%3E84%3B%3E23 2463693%3C558ot1lsi
Plus I went ahead and got a pair of striped capris the kind of bell out in the legs (they must have sold out and I can't remember what they're called). ANYWAY they're super cute but they have little gems around the bottom and they're basically just like stickers. :wtf: Ahna wore them today and by the end of the day over half of them were already gone. I feel irritated about that. (I don't have a picture of her in the outfit yet and the other stuff is still trickling in.)
KristenG May 11th, 2006, 01:13 AM That's annoying Bridget! I know they take back all defective merchandise. Is it these pants?
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6da30b3127cce88077359b96b00000025119AbMnDNq0a-
I have an issue with these flip flops that I bought. They are super cute, but the straps flip over and the sequins gave Olivia a blister. Try convincing a 3 year old to wear shoes that hurt her feet. Not gonna happen. Aye.
http://images1.snapfish.com/34699%3B%3B%3B7%7Ffp345%3Enu%3D3233%3E5%3B5%3E375% 3E23245%3B5466%3B%3B%3Bot1lsi
BTW: the stores are so well lit and cute. It is hard to stay away. I made a trip there today to buy for some girls on the other board I frequent. Going back tomorrow for someone else and to pick up my Gymbo holds so if anyone needs anything, let me know. I can pick it up and you can paypal me for it. I'll ship however you want.
Karri May 11th, 2006, 08:51 AM Thanks for posting the quilt, Kristen. Its beautiful. We're looking for new bedding and I just have no effing idea what I want.
Anyway...that totally sucks about the sandals and the pants.
You know, I see a lot of people wearing Naartjie around here....especially while shopping at Gymbo  I wonder why the hell they don't branch out of CA?
Bridget May 11th, 2006, 10:14 PM You know, I see a lot of people wearing Naartjie around here....especially while shopping at Gymbo  I wonder why the hell they don't branch out of CA? Seems like someone at GR asked them that (it may have been another Gymbo site I plinkered around on, though, not sure) and they said they wanted to stay exclusive to that area. :wtf: MO MONEY MO-RONS! I think it must be part of their "cool quotient" or something.
Kristen - YES, those are the pants. The thing is I'm guessing replacements might be the same... so maybe I'll just pick off the rest of the crystals and call it good. I should ask on GR if that's a known issue with those pants... I also thought of buying some crystals and a sewing shop and putting on new ones. :heee: I just love those little sparkly things.
Bonnie May 11th, 2006, 11:19 PM I rarely shop Naartjie... I don't need another obsession, but I did stop by today to use some store credit and they had some great markdowns, so I was able to get a lot... Very cute! I'll try to get Caroline to model some of it eventually. I have a store about 10 minutes from my house.
KristenG May 12th, 2006, 12:23 AM This is officially my favorite outfit.

Weird that they would only want to be in CA. It's strange, I NEVER see kids in Naartjie here. I have seen a ton of Gymbo in the last 2 months, I think they are getting so popular now.
YURI May 12th, 2006, 02:38 AM Wow ! Kristen She is very lovely. :jump:
I also bought this Topps. However, pants have not been gotten yet.
Coordinating together is lovelier.:ebunny:
Bonnie May 12th, 2006, 11:57 AM Caroline is in one of her new outfits... it JUST fits, as in it won't fit by the end of summer... the size chart seems totally wrong for the outfit, b/c it is size 4, and she is definitely at the low end of that size. It's really cute though! I have to upload my pics. I may have to go back up and see what I can find in size 5!
Bridget May 12th, 2006, 12:06 PM Bonnie, that is so weird. Is it whole outfit? Do you know which line it is? Just curious! :)
Bonnie May 12th, 2006, 12:55 PM I looked on the website, and it looks like "knit whispey butterfly pant" is the pant, it has a matching t-shirt, and I also bought the dress "denim & whispey butteryfly dress" which we have not yet tried on. They fit now, which is great and they were essentially free since I bought w/ store credit from a gift return, and with 2 other girls who will ultimately wear the stuff, I don't feel too bad that it is small, but it is so weird that size 4 would just fit her.
YURI May 17th, 2006, 07:56 AM Hi. Lawn pants of naartjie that had been made a successful bid with ebay today arrived.
The waist of both pants was sewn.
I also often sew the waist of naartjie pants. Because it is a little large.
This size is 18 ~ 24mos. What is you doing?

kim May 17th, 2006, 08:17 AM Yuri, i love the color on that outfit. that tack can be easily snipped off  i've read of many people tacking the pants...i wish i knew how to do that
bonnie - naartjie sizing is all over the place. i remember people saying the denim butterfly dress runs small. in fact i think maybe that whole line ran small? their sizing is so effed up.
Karri May 17th, 2006, 09:54 AM I wish I knew how to tack, too. Norah's 18-24 capris from last year are still too big. They fall right off her and I have to pin the waist.
YURI May 17th, 2006, 07:52 PM Thank you kim and karri.
As for Lawn pants, any color is lovely.
It looks for because it buys last year and it missed it what color it is.
And, it matches it to other brands. :blush1:
Denim butterfly's dress was heard to say the small size here.
and The new line of summer 2 of naartjie is also lovely.

kelbelle May 19th, 2006, 11:16 AM It's time to earn Kid Kash! Yeah! I think I may dive in and try to place my first order! It's just so hard to tell from the website what will look good with what. Any suggestions on which pants to put with which top/dress, etc.?! I'd love any help available! I really want to buy some Naartjie stuff, but don't have any experience. Thanks!
kelbelle May 19th, 2006, 11:20 AM BTW, I really like the denim and whispey butterfly dress. Any suggestions on what bottoms to put with it? I looked at some of the recent pics in this thread and have some ideas of outfits that I like.
Bonnie May 19th, 2006, 11:34 AM BTW, I really like the denim and whispey butterfly dress. Any suggestions on what bottoms to put with it? I looked at some of the recent pics in this thread and have some ideas of outfits that I like.
I put it w/ the matching pants from the line and also a pair of navy leggings from Gymbo. If I ever upload my most recent pics, there is a pic w/ the Gymbo leggings.
Bonnie May 19th, 2006, 11:35 AM Kellie, I spent about an hour in the store last week trying to match tops to bottoms! It was driving me crazy.
Kath May 19th, 2006, 01:20 PM How is shipping from Naartjie?? I have heard its expensive, but I am falling in love with a few things from Summer 2!!!
Bridget May 19th, 2006, 02:08 PM I don't think it's too bad. Seems like I usually pay about $8 or something? Maybe $10? And if you order from one store and they ship to you from multiple locations you only pay once. AND if you have to exchange they don't charge you for the exchange shipping or anything (you pay to send it to them, but not vice versa of course).

Bridget May 22nd, 2006, 04:08 PM Bonnie - so cute! We have that outfit, too, although I have the bottoms in other colors, not pink (or whatever the pink is called). I need to post more pics, I'm such a slacker!
Kath May 22nd, 2006, 04:27 PM So cute, Bonnie!!
Olivia is a glamour girl as always. :)
Bridget, yes, post some pictures!!
I'm about to place an order, I've never done this before. Any favorite stores to order through? Kim?? I am so wishing that there was a store here on the east coast!!
Alyson May 22nd, 2006, 05:41 PM Cute outfit Bonnie!
Of course Olivia looks cute too! She's like a little model!
Kath, I'd recommend ordering from the Rancho Cucamonga (california) store. The girls are soooo nice there!!! I'd steer clear of Glendale and Sherman Oaks unless you want to deal with a big biatch!!!
Alyson May 23rd, 2006, 02:05 AM Any ISO's!? I'm going to Naartjie tomorrow:)!!!
Bridget May 23rd, 2006, 10:21 AM Alyson, would you check out the NEC KNIT BUTTERFLY BOLERO? I'd like it in icing. Can you ask them how it runs? If it runs a bit small, I'd take 18-24 mos. I'd like her to be able to wear it into the fall... so unless it runs HUGE I'd guess I should do 18-24 although she's in 12-18 right now.
Sandy May 23rd, 2006, 02:22 PM Oh holy cow! Yes Alyson, I am going to write a few things down for you to have a look at. If they have it, I will paypal you the $$$ immediately, I promise!!
Poplin fish floaty pants
Poplin floaty fish tank tunic
and/or
lawn whispy butterfly top
whispy butterfly fancy pants
Plus any matching headscarf, solid or patterned is fine.
In any matching color set except white. I only want them as sets, so, for example, please don't get me the float fish tunic if they don't have the matching pants, and vice versa. If they have the set of both, I want both.
Rayna can wear both 2t and 3t clothes, depending on the mfct. So, if they have them in either of these sizes, I am good w/ it, especially if they are 2t on the bottom and 3t on the top.
Whew. Does any of this make sense?
Alyson May 23rd, 2006, 10:05 PM As you know Bridget I got yours... I'll send you a pp invoice tonight.
Sandy I'm sorry.. I must have already left when you posted! I might be going down again on Friday though, if I do I'll look for this stuff for you:)
Kath May 23rd, 2006, 10:20 PM Sooooo...Alyson, did you end up buying anything?? :heee:
I just placed my first order today...it was kind of fun! A whole other level of shopping, having to confirm everything over the phone. Now I can't wait for it to get here!!!
kelbelle May 23rd, 2006, 10:50 PM Ooooh, Kath! What did you buy?! I'm so tempted to take that leap, but I still haven't!
Will someone please help push me over the edge?! (I think I'm just worried about sizes and not knowing what pieces to put together. And what if they don't work out, then it will be a hassle to try to return or I'll just be stuck with stuff. Plus, in the back of my mind, I know we're planning to go to San Diego in the fall, so I'm wondering if I can just hold out until then and shop at a store?!)
Bridget May 23rd, 2006, 10:56 PM Kelly and Kath I can promise you that once you go Naart you never go back. I absolutely adore their clothes and all the little details they have. One thing holds true... the pics on the website don't even COMPARE with the read deal. If you don't belong at GR join just so you can see the pics of the Naart clothes posted there. It's a much better way to get a visual, plus you can really see all the colors.
Sandy, Kids Kash is going on now, so if you're going to buy several things, might as well do that and earn the redemption card.
How am I doing at convincing you all?!
kelbelle May 23rd, 2006, 11:04 PM I know, Bridget! KK is why I'd really like to place my first order right now! (I'm a sucker for marketing like that! That's how Gymbo got me sucked in (with Gymbucks!)).
How long is KK earning going on for? If I have another day or two, I may just place an order. I've even gone so far as to fill out a form on-line, I just never actually submit it. And which store should I try? I've heard some aren't very friendly. Obviously, I'd want a good store for my first experience!

Earning period is until May 24th. It's not quite as good as Gymbucks. You earn a $20 coupon good toward a $50 purchase during a fixed time period. The only "complication" is that it's a funky system, like all Naart stuff. You buy your stuff (online I mean, in the store I'm sure it's instant) and pay the regular price, THEN once it arrives you send the receipt in with the coupon and you get your discount. Nice huh? It works, though and they're pretty quick about it.
A couple of the ladies here (Alyson and Dawn) plus hoardes of women on GR swear by Rancho Cucamonga. I've heard nothing but praise of that store. BUT I think during peak times (KK redemption, sales, etc.) they do get bogged down with orders and it can take a while to hear back. :) As for me, I've stuck with Southtown in Utah. It's a store that doesn't get all the colors (such as white warm) but they always find it for me at another store and ship it to me from the other store at no charge (typically Fashion Place Mall in... well, some other place in Utah). I've read the Fashion Place tends to screw up orders but I haven't had that problem.
Southtown is nice but they're not good about suggesting things, which is something I've heard RC does very well. :) They're just nice and easy to deal with and they always call me back right away, even during peak times, such as when hot new stuff has been introduced.
Kath May 24th, 2006, 07:14 AM Do it, do it, do it!! :heee: Today is the last day to earn KK!!
I ordered from RC, thanks to the suggestions here. Plus I remember Bridget mentioning how fun it was to say. Seriously though, I submitted my order at around noon and they called me to confirm at about 5pm....pretty fast! Lydia was so nice over the phone, let me know they she was going to find one piece from another store since they didn't have the right size/color (no additional shipping) and would email me to confirm, which she did not an hour later. Easy!!
I have a few other Naartie pieces from ebay and BST and love them. I'm already excited to order again during KK redemption.
Oh, and I only spent about $50...just enough to earn 1 KK. I got the henna/poplin halter & capri set that Kristen's Olivia is wearning above but in girlie (pink) and two t-shirts for Chase. I wanted to check out the boys stuff and the shirts were 2 for $18. I hope it all fits, that's the only part that has me a little worried!!
Bridget May 24th, 2006, 10:27 AM Oh and let me say a big thanks to Alyson for picking up that jacket for me yesterday! :hug99: She called me on my cell and was I was like, huh??? :faint: You know how it is when someone calls out of context... when my cell rings I always think it's daycare calling to say someone is sick.
Kath, glad you had a good experience! Ahna is wearing Naart today, too, also an outfit I got on ebay. I took pics of her, but can't post till tonight.
Alyson May 24th, 2006, 11:57 AM Can you believe I didn't buy a damn thing!!!! Well, other than the bolero for Bridget! I didn't know it's KK earning time or I'd have been a spending fool! lol Although, really we didn't have much extra time since we were supposed to be shopping for my sisters wedding attire!
gulp! May 26th, 2006, 02:38 PM So, Emma owns her very first Naartjie item. And I  it! Anybody know what line this is from?

Norah in the blue swimsuit. It was so adorable on  Oh - I got an 18-24 and it fit good. A 2T would have been too big.

kim May 31st, 2006, 04:48 PM very cute! i almost bought one of those .
i have no idea what line emma's sweater if from but it might be the quirky/cheeky line from last fall. that's my first guess.
Alyson May 31st, 2006, 06:10 PM I listed an outfit in the b/s/t thread last night.
Kath June 1st, 2006, 02:44 PM Here are some pictures from my first Naartjie order. :) I only got a few thing but I love it all! Chase in his shirts....

Sandy June 1st, 2006, 02:49 PM Love those outfits! The one on Katie is to die for!!!
Karri June 1st, 2006, 03:00 PM Very cute, Kath!!! (my god - katie's hair grows fast!)
kim June 1st, 2006, 03:05 PM :love1: kath! look at the kids! wow i haven't seen a pic of chase in ages!
just wanted everyone to know i should have my line ID site up by this weekend :heee: it will be www.NaartjieLineID.com
Karri June 1st, 2006, 03:06 PM go kim! :woo:
Bridget June 3rd, 2006, 10:26 PM Kim, you rock the house. The site looks great! How many hits so far?
Kath, love the outfits! I haven't yet bought any boy Naart, but we have Katie's pants in white warm. I didn't get that same top, but she looks adorable!
kim June 4th, 2006, 12:53 PM Kim, you rock the house. The site looks great! How many hits so far?
ugh, too many! hopefully it's just because it's new and people are clicking on evey page.
i CANNOT afford to pay any overage so unfortunately if i see it getting high i'm going to have to pull the plug for a bit until i can work it out.
ETA: i need to pull the plug on my lifesupport! i am such an ass it's not even funny. ten years in high tech and i was reading the stats wrong. i won't get into details cuz it's such a stoopid rookie thing to do
all is well, bandwidth is fine, move along, nothing to see here
Bonnie June 5th, 2006, 01:26 AM I bought a bunch of stuff today b/c I made the mistake of making not 1 but 2 trips to Naartje... oops... I originally went it to buy a few sale pieces b/c the girls wanted to play in this water fountain thing at the mall where a lot of kids play, and I wanted to have dry clothes for them... but I went a little overboard... then, when I got home, I realized I did not have a pair of pants I thought I had, so I decided to go back w/ Caroline... we bought a bunch more!
Bridget June 5th, 2006, 01:30 AM I bought a bunch of stuff today b/c I made the mistake of making not 1 but 2 trips to Naartje... oops... Sounds fun.
Post what you bought if you get some time. I love to shop vicariously through others too.
Bonnie June 5th, 2006, 02:22 AM Caroline is planning to wear her new dress tomorrow... Hopefully, I'll get some pics of her modeling... but I got a new camera, and I have yet to upload any pics from it... but I'll try!
Bonnie June 7th, 2006, 01:21 AM Some of our new Naartjie, I love the first outfit... she loves the dress, she picked it out and insisted on white:

kelbelle June 7th, 2006, 08:23 AM Very cute, Bonnie! Can't wait to see more! :)
Bridget June 7th, 2006, 02:22 PM Very cute Bonnie! I love those outfits. I love the white (I'm a big white warm fan) and the blue stripe is especially cute. I hadn't seen a photo of anyone in that combo yet.
The only blue stuff from Naart I have is a bunch of bluebell stuff I bought for next winter. I can't wait - it's all so soft and cute.
Bonnie June 7th, 2006, 08:37 PM Bridget, the blue combo was put together on display at the store... we are copycats! Caroline loved the white warm... she is pretty easy on her clothes, so I guess it's OK  Can't wait to see your bluebell stuff this winter :)
Bridget June 8th, 2006, 10:56 AM Bridget, the blue combo was put together on display at the store... we are copycats! Caroline loved the white warm... she is pretty easy on her clothes, so I guess it's OK  Can't wait to see your bluebell stuff this winter :)
Bonnie, that's the main reason I go to GR since I rarely post. I like to look at the pics of outfits people put together.
:secret: I also confess to downloading them to keep for my own purposes of mixing and matching. I know that's bad, but I don't post them anywhere. I have a kick ass collection. :blush1:
Bonnie June 8th, 2006, 12:22 PM That is a great idea, Bridget. Being a big copycat, I will probably copy that too
BonnieG June 9th, 2006, 11:57 PM I am so excited!! I just won my first Naartjie outfit for Isabelle on ebay. It is NWT and I think it is sooo cute...what do you guys think?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v224/camhendr/Baby%20Girl/622a02a7.jpg
Bridget June 10th, 2006, 12:10 AM I love that! I think Stef (gulp!) just posted a pic of her daughter wearing that sweater in her journal last week. Or at least I think that's the one...
gulp! June 10th, 2006, 09:19 AM Yes! We just got that same sweater- there's a pic of her wearing it a few pages back. Bonnie, do you know what line that is from? I just love that sweater- it's my new favorite piece of Emma's wardrobe.
ETA: Here it is, I grabbed it from p. 24:
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6db07b3127cce89cef524575e00000015109EaMWLZm1Q
BonnieG June 10th, 2006, 09:48 AM Stef, I don't know what line it is from, as this is my first Naartjie purchase, I haven't become all that familar with line names. I will check the ebay listing to see if they have the line name on there...be back later!!
BTW Emma looks beautiful in that sweater!!!
Bridget June 10th, 2006, 11:52 AM I think Kim (resident Voo Doo Naartjie Priestess) guess quirky/cheeky but she wasn't sure.
BonnieG June 10th, 2006, 12:06 PM Sorry, the ebay listing was no help. Doesn't say anything about the name of the line...oh well. I guess we'll have to go with Kim's guess, as she is the o'Naartjie Great One!!
kim June 10th, 2006, 01:37 PM it's fall 1 & 2 actually, it carried across lines, and called 'pullover hoodie striped sweater'. it came in blue or pink :). full retail was $26.50
bonnie - those are twill tape pants and essential mock neck top in Dark Lilac (i actually thought they were the color Flower but according to the old web page that shirt didn't come in that color? it might have.)
Alyson June 13th, 2006, 01:09 PM I'll be going to Naartjie tomorrow... any ISO's?? (and gymbo & J&J)
Sandy June 13th, 2006, 01:54 PM Cool! I'll just repost my wish list from last time Alyson!
Oh holy cow!
Whew. Does any of this make sense?
kim June 13th, 2006, 01:57 PM sandy i thought i read the FF tunic was tight in the chest. you may want to size up :)
Sandy June 13th, 2006, 02:17 PM Oh really? Good call! I guess we would go w/ either a 3t or a 4t then?
Kath June 13th, 2006, 04:37 PM Alyson, I would LOVE if you could find a Henna Stripe headband in "girlie" I keep hearing on GR that they are all sold out, but I *really* want one...maybe there is one lingering around. :)
I may be back to add to my ISO! :heee:
Karri June 13th, 2006, 07:52 PM Sandy - I sent'cha a PM, but I got you this today: whispy butterfly top
whispy butterfly fancy pants, & matching headscarf.
I got to shop at my first Naartjie today  I was in there for an hour and a half, scouring the racks, deciding what I wanted and putting outfits together for the kids. It was fun!
kim June 13th, 2006, 07:57 PM what did you get?!!! i had to bail on getting anything...better to save my $$ for fall lines that she'll wear a LOT longer.
Sandy June 14th, 2006, 09:22 AM EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
Squeals of excitment coming from Mississippi!!!!
Thank you Karri! I can't wait to get it!!!
Karri June 14th, 2006, 07:41 PM For now, i got the tye dye butterfly pedal (in 12-18!) in new marine and a3/4 sleeve shirt that is tye dye shirt that is also in new marine w/ some flowers sewn on it (i dont know the line name...can't find it)
For next summer, I got the mini, island & henna dress in jellytot, with a knit solid mini embroidery top in dew, and poplin henna stripe pants in dew. I also got the tye dye butterfly skirt & tank in jellytot.
And then for Aidan, I got the hibiscus shirt in pigment pilot, a collared shirt in cement (from the 'road trip' line, whatever it was called), and a pr of raw edged shorts in charcoal. I dont know the names, as they arent on the site.
And for Elliott, I got the camo shorts and the hibiscus shirt in pumice.
Alyson June 14th, 2006, 07:51 PM I didn't get to go today, but I'm going tomorrow morning:)
Karri June 17th, 2006, 09:43 AM Norah in the tye dye butterfly pedals and a shirt that isnt of the same line, but matched fine  (it was cooler that night and i didnt bring any long sleeves for her, so i had to buy)

Dawn June 19th, 2006, 12:31 PM karri - I LOVE that outfit!!!!
I know I've posted a pic of Alexia in this outfit before, but don't think I got one of her from head to toe, including the sandals (which she LOVES so much!)
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6d838b3127cce8a63cdc4c5d900000005108EZt2zNozai
Karri June 19th, 2006, 12:35 PM she looks darling, dawn! when chris saw the head scarf i bought for sandy, he said he wished norah would wear one. :(
Robin June 19th, 2006, 12:49 PM I know you are all Naartjie lovers, but I must tell you that South Africa does have some other brands that are just as cute. Like many brands from South Africa, you can't get them on line. So I want to introduce you to Kaboodle Kids on-line store that sells some other brands from South Africa - like the Bug Zoo brand and Hooligans. I don't have Naartjie, but I just started importing from South Africa This year and I couldn't bring all the brands over or my husband would have divorced me. So if you would let me know what you think of these clothes? I would appreciate it.

Karri June 19th, 2006, 03:21 PM Here are the boys in some of their new Naartjie:
shorts & shirt

kim June 19th, 2006, 04:40 PM how do you like the boys stuff karri? i always want to order for tony but end up going gap outlet instead
Karri June 19th, 2006, 04:51 PM I like it, Kim. The shirts are wider than other shirts I've bought, but I personally like the bigger shirted look on the boys. And the shorts are fabulous. They have both an elastic and drawstring waist, which is wonderful for skinnies like Aidan or short boys w/ chunky bellys like Ellie. Plus they are soft.
I got Aidan size 5 shirts, which is what I get him from Gymbo, and the length is the same.
Karri June 19th, 2006, 04:52 PM BTW - the prices on the boys stuff was great. $7.99 for shorts, $7.99 for shirts. For name brand, that is wonderful.
Bridget June 19th, 2006, 08:27 PM Very cute! Good to know Karri. I have trouble with Caleb as he's always too skinny, too! I haven't ordered any boys Naart yet.
Nichole June 19th, 2006, 08:43 PM Hmm, I could possibly be swayed by those prices, Karri. Those shirts are really cute. and I have a Naartjie in the mall by my house. :heee:
Karri June 19th, 2006, 08:48 PM Nichole - all the summer stuff is on clearance now!
Lyndee June 19th, 2006, 08:50 PM I caved an bought an outfit  I decided I'd gamble when things went on sale. I had to make 2 different orders since one store didn't have everything I needed (supposedly they do the calling for you but I guess they don't try too hard :dunno: ) The tops are a size 7. Bottoms are size 6. Everything fit perfectly. Got the skechers crocs to match.
As far as the gamble, Lauryn and I ended up loving this outfit. :)

Karri June 19th, 2006, 08:55 PM ooooh. very cute lyndee!
Kath June 19th, 2006, 09:22 PM I love Lauryn's outfit!! And Norah's & Alexia's too! I have Kid Kash to spend and no idea what to get. Decisions, decisions....
I haven't tried the boys shorts yet but I really like the two t-shirts I got for Chase. One is the same as Aidan & Elliot have....and its SO soft! And again, can't beat the prices.
Bridget June 19th, 2006, 09:34 PM Hmm, I could possibly be swayed by those prices, Karri. Those shirts are really cute. and I have a Naartjie in the mall by my house. :heee:
Meow! Purrpurr! Meow! Purrmeow!
Bridget June 19th, 2006, 09:35 PM Oops - sorry! VERY cute Lyndee! I wasn't a big fan of that outfit because I hadn't seen it on but that is ADORABLE!!!! She looks so cute!
Dawn June 20th, 2006, 06:21 AM Karri - it's so great to see boys sporting some Naart! Love the outfits!!!
Lyndee - WOW, Lauryn just gets bigger and bigger each time I see her. In the 2nd pic, she looks like a little lady....so pretty! That outfit looks awesome on her!! Great choice!
Angela208 June 20th, 2006, 02:15 PM Hi! In my research of Naartjie I came across this board. I just placed my first order and was surprised that they had some of the things I was looking for. I was kind of nervous about ordering because of the sizing issue, but after reading through some of the past threads I was confident I knew what size to order. My daughter is 7 months but is on the small size. She usually wears 6-12 months in other brands but by the Naartjie sizing chart I felt 3-6 months would probably work for her. I can't wait to get my order!!!
Bridget June 20th, 2006, 02:21 PM Welcome Angela! :wavey: I love Naart and hope you do too. It's very comfy, even for a little one!
BonnieG June 20th, 2006, 04:47 PM Well, I just got that outfit today that I won from eBay. The sweater was soooo amazingly soft...I was not expecting that. I was able to get the sweater and pants on Isabelle and she just started giggling and had to run over to the mirror to see herself. Once she saw herself in the outfit, she started kissing the mirror and just making tons of faces. I wanted to go and get the camera, but it is hot here today and just in that little time of being in the sweater, she started to sweat like a pig (unfortunately, my kids got my DH's sweat glands...yuck!) so I took it off. But I will try to get a picture soon and post it. I am now eyeing another fall Naartjie outfit from ebay...do you think that the white warm color could be used in fall?
Sandy June 21st, 2006, 09:22 AM I got my package of Naartjie clothes from Karri! Thank you Karri!!! It is so lightweight, perfect for the summer down here. 2T looks plenty big enough for her - I will try it on tonight. I am thinking that she might be wearing this at my baby shower on Saturday!
Karri June 21st, 2006, 03:27 PM Sandy - it will be. She would have been totally swimming in the next size up  I can't wait to see it on her!
kim June 21st, 2006, 06:37 PM new line is UP!
according to the girls on my other board there are issues with pant legs being wayyy to long. lemme go see which ones.
ETA: the EMBROIDERD POPLIN BLEACHED PRINT PANTS are the ones that are insanely long, especially the peapod ones.
Bridget June 21st, 2006, 10:17 PM Bonnie I think white warm is OK for winter, but then it's my favorite so I'm slightly biased.
BonnieG June 21st, 2006, 10:30 PM I was wrong on the color Bridget, it is actually Powder. It is the outfit with the Dragonflies all over the pants and the top. They are long pants and it appears that the top is L/S or at least 3/4 length, and the dragonflies look like a light to medium pink. Sorry I am so bad...I don't know any of the names of anything!! I feel so out of my element...I'm used to knowing EVERYTHING like I do with Gymbo LOL!
Bridget June 21st, 2006, 10:36 PM Bonnie, I think Naartjie colors melt your brain. Plus, sometimes they make no sense. I already bought stuff in powder for next winter, so... you already know where I stand on that one too.
kim June 21st, 2006, 10:52 PM bonnie i think the dragonfly set is fine for fall! i have a set in Caribbean (aqua bluey colore) i wish would still fit gianna then but i am sure it won't :(.
Nichole June 21st, 2006, 10:55 PM I'm thinking of hitting the mall tomorrow to see if there's anything left of the clearance stuff for the boys. How do the sizes run for boys' stuff? It looks like everything runs on the big side from what I'm reading, but I just wanted to check.
kim June 21st, 2006, 10:59 PM bitch
i think boys runs slightly big but not ginormous.
BonnieG June 21st, 2006, 11:02 PM Woo hoo!!:ura1: Okay, I got approval from 2 of the Naart experts!! I guess that means I'm going ebay shopping!!! One thing Kim, do you know if that set runs on the big size?
Karri June 21st, 2006, 11:02 PM Nichole: I bought Aidan t-shirts in 5's and shorts in 3's. Elliott's shirt was 2T and shorts were 24mos. The shirts run wide, but to me, they run about the same as other stuff we have.
kim June 21st, 2006, 11:05 PM the set i have is 18-24 dress and pants. the dress is fairly true to size, but the neck is big...the pants are big in the waist and a little long. i would roll the waist when she wore them.
this pic was taken in february (she was 17m), she didn't actually wear this till about april
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6dc36b3127cce97173b5132e600000015108KaM2zVuzo
Karri June 21st, 2006, 11:09 PM Its odd....I think the girl shit runs bigger than the boy shit. I bought Norah 3 pcs for next spring/summer and the dress/capris are 2T and waaay too big on her now.
kim June 21st, 2006, 11:12 PM sizing depends on the items really. i have summer 2 stuff that fits perfect and true to size and a summer 1 floaty fish set that i had to tack up the straps! (and no, i don't really know how to tack so that was quite hairy  )
BonnieG June 21st, 2006, 11:32 PM Thanks for the advice Kim...btw Gianna looks adorable in that outfit!! What a great color. The reason I ask is that the set is 18-24 month. Isabelle is almost 28 months, she is on the small side (about 24-25 pounds) and I know that if I got a 2T, she probably wouldn't be able to fit into the pants till the end of winter. I guess if the dress is a little short, it will just look like more of a shirt then.
Bridget June 21st, 2006, 11:33 PM The floaty fish tunic tops tended to run small through the chest but long straps. I had to upsize Ahna on those.
Sandy June 23rd, 2006, 11:20 AM What is the general shrinkage experience w/ Naart clothes? I was going to try on Rayna's new duds and give them a wash tonight. I typically dry everything in the dryer, but wanted to see what everyone's experience was w/ how they wash these and if they have shrunk up substantially?
Bridget June 23rd, 2006, 11:22 AM I haven't noticed any shrinking issues on my stuff, Sandy! I've experience more of that on Gymbo than Naart AND the stuff comes out fairly wrinkle free. I'm not obsessive about not using the dryer - it ALL goes in there. ;) I've only had one bad experience and that was on a pair of striped capris with little stick on jewels that came off the first wearing. I don't get why they glued them on. Stoopid.
Bridget June 23rd, 2006, 11:22 AM Edit - the only thing I've noticed having much problem with wrinkling are the ruffly straps on the floaty fish dresses/tanks BUT I iron everything anyway so it no mattuh. :blush1:
Alyson June 23rd, 2006, 11:26 AM I agree with Bridget. I have tried drying a few Naart things TO GET THEM to shrink and they didn't!! I usually hang dry all of Brookelyns clothes, but some Naart has gone in the dryer the first or second time to try and shrink it...
Dawn June 23rd, 2006, 11:30 AM sizing depends on the items really.
I totally agree w/ this statement.
Sandy - I've also had no shrinking issues as well.
kim June 23rd, 2006, 11:58 AM they don't shrink cuz they're prewashed.
Dawn June 23rd, 2006, 12:01 PM http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6dc36b3127cce97173b5132e600000015108KaM2zVuzo
Kim, I've said it before...but I LOVE this. Wanting to add: keep me in mind for Angelina, if and when you decide to sell it ;)
Sandy June 23rd, 2006, 01:58 PM You guys are the shiznit. Manufacturers who prewash their clothes are the shiznit. Using my dryer is the shiznit. I am mucho happy.
Nichole June 23rd, 2006, 02:04 PM This is a good thing for me, too. I'm too lazy to not throw everything into the dryer. I generally don't spend much $ on clothes, so it's never mattered to me.
kim June 23rd, 2006, 02:05 PM what do you get the other day nichole?
Nichole June 23rd, 2006, 02:10 PM I can't find pics anywhere (the official site doesn't let you hotlink, eh?). I got the red hibiscus print shirt like Karri got and then the Surf Zone Spray shirt (in Pigment Surf/blue). I also got each of the boys some blue hibiscus flip flops on sale for $3.99/pr.
ETA: this, but in red:

kim June 23rd, 2006, 02:12 PM sweet!
Kath June 23rd, 2006, 02:39 PM That is the cutest picture of Gianna! I love that set...and the color.
So, is anyone ordering any of the new line stuff?? I have to place an order soon and I can't decide. I'm sure if I try to order any of the sale stuff I'll never find it. I still want that damn headband!
BonnieG June 24th, 2006, 06:18 PM Can someone tell me how the Tie Dye set runs...like the one that Lyndee had posted a picture of? Thanks!
Kath June 24th, 2006, 09:51 PM I think I remember reading that the tops ran small, so to size up. Not sure about the bottoms though.
Lyndee June 24th, 2006, 10:53 PM Can someone tell me how the Tie Dye set runs...like the one that Lyndee had posted a picture of? Thanks!
Tops ran really small. I got a size 7 butterfly tank and I was worried it was going to be too small when I got it out of the box. I kept reading that the bottoms run huge but I dont' think they do. I got a size 6 and they fit perfectly. I ordered a size 5 but they didn't have it so I'm glad I got a 6. Lauryn wears size 6 in Gymbo bikers and leggings and size 5 in all other Gymbo bottoms.
BonnieG June 25th, 2006, 08:03 AM Thanks, as always ladies, for the advice!!
Karri June 25th, 2006, 10:33 PM I thought the tie dye pants ran big. I had to get Norah 12-18 mo ones, and she's normally in 2T pants.
Sandy June 27th, 2006, 09:52 AM I know I am biased, but could there possibly be a cuter outfit? Rayna in the outfit Karri bought for us. Thank you Karri!!!

Karri June 27th, 2006, 10:19 AM Oh Sandy - she is so freakin' cute
Dawn June 27th, 2006, 10:20 AM Rayna looks too cute! Love the outfit (and the headscarf).
Kim - Are the sale items up online?
Bridget June 27th, 2006, 10:21 AM Sandy she looks adorable!!! :)
Kath June 27th, 2006, 10:21 AM WHAT?! I am submitting my Kid Kash order today....that will mess me up! Will they mark down the prices online? This Naartjie stuff has me all confused and obsessed lately, I tell ya!
Rayna looks SOOOO cute in that outfit, I love it! I don't think you are too biased, she is beautiful!
Bridget June 27th, 2006, 11:05 AM http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6d838b3127cce8a6ff57dc57f00000015108AaNG7Rozasx
Did this top come in little girl? I got the pants already but the top is gone from the website, so I don't know if I'm wasting my time. If so I'm going to buy the other tye dye shirt (NEC TIE DYE BUTTERLY TANK) if I can still get it.
It DOES look like the markdowns are on the website, but there's no dresses left.
Glad I already rebought the floaty fish dresh for next year. :blush1:
:secret: Kim you know I'll never learn.
Bonnie June 27th, 2006, 12:05 PM Sandy: She is adorable!
Well, I may have to run up to Naartjie today if the stuff is that cheap. We need some dresses :) (Maybe need isn't the right word  )
Dawn June 27th, 2006, 01:10 PM Can I just say that I'm soooooo jealous of those of you who live right by a Naartjie store! :tongue2: I really wished there was one around here....
BonnieG June 27th, 2006, 01:12 PM Can I just say that I'm soooooo jealous of those of you who live right by a Naartjie store! :tongue2: I really wished there was one around here....
I'm right there with ya Dawn! Why don't places branch out more? Or, if they aren't going to put anymore stores around, I at least wish that you could just order directly from the website and not have to wait for a call back from a store!
Bridget June 27th, 2006, 03:08 PM Here's a couple of not-so-great shots from this am. She was crabby. You can't really see but she's got her pants on. :)

kim June 27th, 2006, 09:58 PM :love1: i love that set so much. i have to restrain myself from putting it on gianna every weekend
:bullhorn: peeps, i need pics for my line id site. if you're willing to share :) i just bit the bullet and put up some pics of G tonite.
kim June 27th, 2006, 09:59 PM omg bridget i just realized ahna is at daycare in that pic! you let her wear 'the good stuff' to daycare?!?!? :owow:
Bridget June 27th, 2006, 10:04 PM Yep. She wears it to daycare.
Kim, you know my pics are open season for you. Take anything you want. :)
kim June 27th, 2006, 10:06 PM Yep. She wears it to daycare.
:errr: i could never do that. i might as well throw it in a heap in the backyard and light it on fire cuz it would get destroyed at my daycare. dee-stroyed.
Bridget June 27th, 2006, 10:10 PM I've never had much trouble at ours. The stuff that gets ruined is typically something worn on spaghetti day if I'm not paying attention. I figure I buy it to wear so off they go. I know that's not good from a resale value but I'm OK with it. It makes me sad to see something not get worn so I figure what the heck.
I understand your point, though. It's a risk. Luckily, our daycare is heavy on concrete and pebbles as opposed to grass/dirt.
I spy G in that same dress on your site!!!
Bridget June 27th, 2006, 10:11 PM But all in all I really haven't had much get ruined. Honestly I have MORE trouble getting stains at family lunches/dinners. At school I they tend to take their clothes off if they're eating something messy, I think that helps.
Kath June 27th, 2006, 10:27 PM Oh, I love that set on Ahna!! She looks freaken adorable as always. The trouble with seeing all these cuties is that it makes me want to go out and search for the same outfit....so bad for my $$ account!!
Kim, I only a have a few outfits but you can use any of my pictures too....although I'll have another outfit soon once my KK order arrives!! Do you want boys line pics also?
Bonnie June 28th, 2006, 01:47 AM Bridget, she is freakin' adorable! I  Ahna! The outfit is cute too.
Kim, I haven't posted much, but you can use whatever I post for pics.
Karri June 28th, 2006, 09:17 AM Oh Bridget - she is sooo cute
Kim - certainly :) I will do a photo shoot with what we have here at home for ya. You can use anything you see fit.
Alyson June 28th, 2006, 11:13 AM Oh Bridget, she is soo cute!! Don't you love that dress and pants!? We have that too:) I'm in LOVE!
gulp! June 28th, 2006, 12:45 PM Kim, you're welcome to take that pic of Emma in the hooded sweater. That's the only Naart we have, but I just bought an outfit off Nicole, so when I get it I'll have E do a photo shoot. :)
Sandy June 28th, 2006, 01:20 PM Add Rayna to the list of people whose pics you can use if you want to Kim!!!
Dawn June 28th, 2006, 03:03 PM Same here, Kim. Whatever pics you want to use that I've posted is fine by me. In the meantime though, I'll try to take a pic of both the girls together in their whispy stuff if that'll make things easier (i know the last pic I posted was just of Alexia head to toe in the whispey dress). I'll also do a separate pic of Ang in case you wanted to do it that way on your site as well.... :)
What's the link to the site again? So I can put it in my favorites. Thanks!
AmyP July 14th, 2006, 09:59 AM Here's Sarah in the Naartjie I bought off Alyson. It's really cute and has tons of growing room!

Sorry the pic is a little dark. My old digital does that a lot.
Kim, you're welcome to use this on your site if you want. Once I get my camera back from DH's grandparents' house, I can take another one that will look a whole lot better.
Kath July 14th, 2006, 10:27 AM CUTE, Amy!! She looks so comfortable!
Here's Katie in an ebay win. I LOVE this. Its from the Funny Flower line and is so lightweight and summery! (Kim, feel free to use on your site.)

Karri August 30th, 2006, 04:36 PM Sooo cute, Kath!!
I bought this for N for next summer, but I was just getting out her fall clothes and decided that I wanted to try it on her b/c she just had a growth spurt and I am sick of her summer clothes  It fit! Well, the dress has a lot of room for growth, but anyway...

BonnieG August 30th, 2006, 09:00 PM Very cute Karri.
I almost had to kill my DH last night. I had brought out some of Isabelle's fall clothes and had her in a new Naartjie outfit that I had gotten off of ebay (the dragonfly dress and pants) and while I was at work, he decided to give her spaghetti with red sauce and did not take her shirt off:fado: I came home to find the shirt with stains all over it!!!
I had to wash it 4 times today and luckily, the sauce came off!!!
I know that it's not pratical to take her shirt off when she is in a resturant or anything, but when she is at home, I always take her shirt off before she eats anything messy, because she is, well...messy!
BonnieG September 12th, 2006, 04:50 PM Here is a picture of Isabelle in a Naartjie set that I purchased from Nicole...she is also wearing a Baby Lulu hat that went with a set that again, I got from Nicole:

Alyson December 5th, 2006, 06:24 PM If anyone is intereseted I'm ready to part :( with this outfit! I have to check sizes but I think it's like 2T top and 18-24 bottoms or something like that!:)
BonnieG December 5th, 2006, 07:51 PM There's no picture Alyson...at least I can't see one.
Alyson December 5th, 2006, 08:05 PM OOoops!!
http://www.onceuponalife.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=7201&stc=1
BonnieG December 5th, 2006, 08:12 PM How much are you asking for this?
Alyson December 5th, 2006, 08:23 PM hmm.. I hadn't thought about that yet!...
Alyson January 4th, 2007, 03:04 PM Anyone still interested in this?
Brandi January 4th, 2007, 03:39 PM It's adorable! I have never purchased any Naartjie before. How do the pants compare to Gymboree? My daughter is tiny! She can't fit into Gymboree because it's too wide. But Brookelyn looks skinny too.
Karri January 4th, 2007, 03:45 PM Naart. leggings run big (norah can wear 12 mos now, but they're crop, of course). That's probably why those are a smaller size. But it also seems to depend on the material.
Alyson January 4th, 2007, 04:53 PM Karri is right. I bought the pants smaller because they fit huge on the waist.. And yes, Brookelyn's is tall and skinny. Her waist is so small, she can wear a 24 months in some pants, if they're cropped...
What size is Heather wearing in pants right now?.. that fit her well...
Brandi January 4th, 2007, 10:09 PM Well, she is basically wearing 24 month pants. They are long enough and usually just a little too big. Gymboree are WAY too big. A lot of the clothes we have are hand me downs and have been washed and dried a million times, so I wonder if they fit because they have shrunk. Most of the new clothes that I bought for Heather are dresses since she doesn't have to wear the pants. She is about 25% for height, 5% for weight (oh and 89% for head circ). So it sounds like they might be big on her too. Ah well. She has been getting a lot of use out of those leggings I thought I'd hate. We were using cloth diapers which helped a lot. But we recently stopped those so we are super skinny again!
Alyson January 4th, 2007, 10:13 PM Brandi, I checked the outfit and the pants and top are actually both 18-24 months. My guess from what you said, would be that they may very well fit her in the next couple of months. When I first got these for Brookelyn I just made a stich in the side to tighten them a little bit....
Brandi January 4th, 2007, 11:33 PM Well then! How much are you thinking? It is a really cute outfit!
Lyndee February 12th, 2007, 09:39 PM I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Naartjie. Like it that you can order online but their website is soooo annoying!
AmyP February 12th, 2007, 09:51 PM I have to admit I'm nervous about buying Naartjie directly. The only Naartjie Sarah has we've bought here. How are they with returns? I just don't want to order stuff and have it be the wrong size and have trouble exchanging it.
Tammy February 14th, 2007, 05:20 PM I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Naartjie. Like it that you can order online but their website is soooo annoying!
I wanted to order from them today but got so annoyed with the website I gave up!!
Bridget February 14th, 2007, 05:26 PM Their website stinks - I still think it's easiest to email/contact a store directly for orders.
Amy, they are really good about returns but the sizing is WAY WAY WAY crazy and varies from line to line. You should definitely get some feedback from them on sizing before you order (or if I have anything you are wanting I might be able to help too).
Lyndee February 14th, 2007, 05:43 PM Alright, here was my order.
I pretty much just got a bunch of stuff from the Spring 1 line. I was getting frustrated with finding stuff on the website so I pretty much went with various pieces in 1 color- ballet.
I got all size 6 and I found the sizes to be pretty true to size since Lauryn wears all size 6 on Gymbo.

Lyndee February 15th, 2007, 09:11 PM Sorry I wasn't naming the pieces what they call them in the website. I just hate their naming convention- way too long and I can't ever remember the names of the colors.
Lauryn loved the fabric. She's very picky about the way clothes feel on her skin. The fabric was so soft and comfortable.
The prices weren't too bad. Pretty comparable to Gymbo but without the Gymbucks.
The big issue I have with finding her clothes now is that she's not quite 5 but is already wearing size 6 clothes. (which means that no more size 5Ts and the Big Girl fashion at Old Navy, Gap etc are way too mature for her.) I like that she still looks like a little girl in Naartjie.
Bonnie February 15th, 2007, 11:05 PM Very cute, Lyndee. I bought some of that new line for summer paired with the stripey basics. I like how their colors are fairly consistent too... I bought a bunch on clearance last summer and the new stuff matches. :)
I find their tops are on the small side, pants on the long side.
Lyndee March 30th, 2007, 11:31 PM Going nuts on Naartjie! I love their Summer 1 line. This color is Dew. I ordered everything in a size 7 and so far everything fits. (I may have to take back some of the size 6 I ordered from Spring 2)

I ended up ordering some more stuff
AmyP March 31st, 2007, 09:33 AM Great pics, Lyndee! I love her in blue!!!
I keep wanting to order Naartjie but I just can't figure out how to size Sarah. She's 29 lbs and 35 inches tall. She fits a 2T in Gymbo pretty well, and can fit some 3/3T's (although most of them are a little big). She has a set I bought from Alyson in 18-24 that I LOVE that still fits well. Although if she gets any taller, the pants are going to be too short. She has a dress and leggings set I bought from Jenn in a size 2-3 years that is a little big, but not huge.
So, how do you think I should size her when/if I order? She's basically set for summer on clothes, but I could get her maybe one more outfit.
Bonnie March 31st, 2007, 10:17 PM Amy, she is about the same size as Tatum. Tatum is very comfortable in 18-24 tops and pants. Courtney is still in 18-24 pants and is taller than Sarah.
Bonnie March 31st, 2007, 10:18 PM Lyndee, those are such cute pics! Makes me want to go up to Naartjie, but we are bursting at the seams w/ clothes right now
Karri April 3rd, 2007, 05:04 PM Those are cute. But I've not been totally in love w/ the new girls lines like in the past :dunno:
I snatched Aidan up some pirate stuff (summer line), thanks to Kim alerting me (it was flying off the shelves!). He was being silly...

and a shirt from the spring 2 line and the essential fleece shorts. I really like the fleece shorts. Very nice  I may buy a bunch for Elliott if the dude ever grows. They run huge, though. I bought a 5 for Aidan and oops...you can see they're like manpris :giggle:

Kath April 4th, 2007, 10:01 PM Wow! When did Aidan get so big?! I've been wanting that pirate ship shirt for Chase and I'm loving one of the spring 2 sets for Katie. I might need to place an order.... :shuffle:
AmyP May 9th, 2007, 11:41 AM Dresses are 25% off at Naartjie! I'm having an AWFUL time finding one in Sarah's size, though. (I tried 2T and 18-24) :( They keep reporting 0 available. I did find one, and I think I'll go with that. It's not my first choice, but it will be really cute. I just need to check Sarah's closet again. I don't think she has many dresses, so another one should be okay. :)
Kath May 9th, 2007, 12:18 PM Amy, do an email or phone order rather than an online order and they'llprobably be able to find your first choice of style/color in the size you need. I did an email order and they had the shirt I wanted for Chase even though it showed they were sold out online.
Here's a few pictures of Katie in the two Summer 2 outfits I ordered for her:
Dress in white with matching headscarf.

Karri May 9th, 2007, 02:36 PM Kath - she is just gorgeous! Wow!
I thought I remember Kim (?) telling me that their online ordering is from their outlet? and to always do it via phone/email.
AmyP May 9th, 2007, 02:40 PM Thanks. I decided I liked the dress they had best, so I went with it. It's the mono leaf tank dress in pantra. I'll keep the e-mail/phone ordering in mind. If I order more than one dress, my DH will murder me anyway. I already got an e-mail saying it shipped, so I'll be sure to post pictures when we get it and I can get Sarah in a good enough mood to model it.
Eva May 9th, 2007, 04:13 PM Gorgeous, Kath. I love the first outfit. :)
I finally have a Naartjie to post :) I found this outfit at a swap meet over the weekend and love it:

AmyP May 12th, 2007, 02:51 PM I just got the dress in the mail today. It's definitely from their outlet (receipt attached said so). It's darling! I'm glad I got the 2T. I haven't tried it on her, but the length looks great. It has growing room, but isn't insanely long. Once I get her in a decent mood, I'll try it on her and post pictures.
AmyP May 15th, 2007, 08:50 AM Here's Sarah in summer two (excuse the bedhead). It's a little long, but I think the length will be fine. She'll grow into it.

AmyP May 15th, 2007, 10:43 AM Cute, Karri! I love her expression!!!
Alysia July 11th, 2007, 02:50 PM I went to Naartjie for the first time last night! There is one in the mall right across from my hotel! They had a bunch of stuff 60% off. I got 3 outfits and a dress for $55.
Alyson July 11th, 2007, 05:03 PM And the obsession begins!! lol:) I love Naartjie and have been emailing them begging to open a store in my mall!! lol:)
Alysia July 11th, 2007, 05:09 PM  Thankfully, I don't come to Portland very often.
~Jenn July 19th, 2007, 08:58 AM The girls each wore a Naartjie outfit yesterday (that I had planned to sell earlier this spring, and just didn't get around to it), and I have to admit that I do love the clothes! Rory was in a blue print dress/leggings combo, and Teagan was in a turquoise print swing top and flared leggings. I loved both of them! And, get this...they were both size 4 years! Naartjie sizing is definetly generous!
Alyson July 19th, 2007, 12:22 PM Jenn, when they outgrow them, let me know... you might have a taker here:)
