If you worked part time when you were pregnant, how long were you allowed off after you had your baby? When I had Alex, I was working full time, and I took 12 weeks off. I only work part time now and *hopefully* will have another baby next year. I work somewhere with no real clear cut rules on this, that I've ever seen, anyway. So just curious what your company's policy is!

No clear cut rules on that for us either. :dunno: With my first I took off about 6 weeks. With my second, almost 4 months. They had no problems with it. But my work is very family oriented so I'm sure that makes a difference. Can you go to your boss or HR and find out what they say? Or are you not wanting them to know that you're planning on getting pregnant again?

My company allows for the same amount of time to be taken off regardless of your status, so I took the full amount of time allowed with both pregnancies which is 12 weeks. (Well, I actually was allowed to take 18 weeks after my first but they changed their rules by my second one so that I would have had to pay for my insurance premiums if I was out longer than 12 weeks. That extra $700/month expense wasn't appealing, so I settled for 12 weeks. )

I can ask them, I just wanted some backup that other people are allowed 12 in case they said only 6 weeks. That's a total deal breaker for me. I think it's totally unfair to think that because you only work part time, you don't need the extra 6 weeks off. I can work up to 35 hours a week, that's close enough to full time, in my opinion, to qualify for the full time benefit of getting 12 weeks off. Thanks for the info, guys!
