Please tell me I am not the only one. Recently, Aidan has not wanted anything to do with his highchair. We put him in there with his dinner and a minute later, he is screaming "all done!! all done!!" , and he hasnt touched a thing. However...if we offer him the food outside of our dining area, say, his playroom, he will eat it. Well, while I want my child to eat, I also want to set some ground rules. I am not about to let someone with grubby hands run around my house with their food. :lol:
Has anyone else had issues? How have you resolved them?

We are having the same issues... actually, I just really noticed the eating part last night. After I let Maggie down from her chair, her food was still on the table (I had to tend to Katie for a few minutes). Maggie climbed into a regular chair and ate more than she did off her own plates than she had while she was sitting in her chair. I am starting to wonder if its time to get a less obvious high/booster chair...

When this happened with Jack, we got him a booster chair and we haven't had any problems since. He loves sitting at the table with us.

We had the exact same problem with Joe - he refused to sit in his high chair or a booster, he had to be in a regular chair. The put his neck even with the table, so I made a platform for the chair so he could up higher, and he's been happy ever since.

:doh: It hadn't occurred to me to put the chair on a platform! That makes sense!

That was my suggestion in Karri's journal -- try the booster (without the tray) or put him in a regular chair so he feels more like he's eating with you guys.

OR I've heard of people having good luck with kids eating at the kids tables, but that kind of separates him from you guys.

I guess we;ll dig out the booster seat tomorrow and give it a try. I need to find some plastic to cover the cloth on my chairs, though!

i must say that i've had no trouble with tony using the kinderzeat. i am assuming it's because he eats off the table. i love that thing like a brother :lol:

I thought about a kinderzeat, but wonderer if he'd think it was too much like a highchair?? I suppose I could just shove his highchair up to the table, too.

The kinderzeat worked for us too! Only problem is my daughter figured out the locking clip in one week. She still sits there to eat, but knows she can get down when she wants to. Oh well... at least she was eating. :)

Just put a big, old towel over your seats, Karri. That's what we did. Easy clean up because we just undo his booster and throw the towel in the laundry. It's not the prettiest thing in the world, but oh well.

Crap, now I'm going to have to build something :furious: . Oh well, the good side is that I'll have to purchase power tools to do it :victory: .

my daughter has been in a booster seat since about 8 mos old. she hated the high chair :)
