VH1 is airing a series starting next week where they got a bunch of 80s bands to reunite and perform a short concert. Some of the groups are A Flock of Seagulls, Berlin, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Kajagoogoo, Squeeze and my all-time favorite group The Alarm.

It should be a lot of fun for the 80s music fans, although apparently the guy in A Flock of Seagulls cut his hair.

You can see the complete lineup at http://www.vh1.com/shows/dyn/bands_reunited/episode_list.jhtml

Hey thanks Dennis! I used to LOVE LOVE that song "I Ran" by the Flock of Seagulls. I think that's the name.

The only 80's band I'd be interested in seeing get back together is The Smiths. Of course that would never happen though. :( I might check that show out though.

I watch the Flock of Seagulls episode last night. It's amazing how old they look. Most of the show is about getting the band members back together and the reunion in rehearsal. They only show 2 songs from the concert, and they talk over alot of it, so that part is kind of disappointing. It would nice if they added on an extra half hour and showed more of the show. But overall they are pretty well done.

OMG I keep hearing commercials for this. I wanted to watch it, but haven't had the chance to. I bet seeing these 80's bands that I loved at the time will really make me feel old.

Funny story - Abby's 17 year old babysitter told me how her and her friends threw an 80's new years eve party and everyone got dressed up in funny clothes and listened to 80's music. I was like...HEY, I used to actually wear those bad clothes. LOL

They only show 2 songs from the concert

Okay, let's face it... most of the bands that they are reuniting only had 2 hit songs anyway.

I saw the Romeo Void one. Not too bad. It is interesting to see them back together and to see how they've all changed over the years.

Yeah, but when one of the bands happens to be your all-time favorite group (The Alarm), you want to see the whole concert, not just 2 songs with voice overs through them. What really sucks is I actucally had the chance to go to the concert, but it was in London on about 5 days notice, so I couldn't come up with the money or get the time off work that quickly. I'm hoping they release it on DVD.

OMG the ALARM. I LOVED them. They played at my college in 1990 and I had front row seats. They totally rocked!

Wow - another Alarm fan! Tara, Mike Peters has put out a lot of great stuff since they broke up. He started using the Alarm name again a couple of years ago (with a completely different lineup) - you can see all the info at www.thealarm.com

In regards to your other post, what were the "bad" clothes from the 80s? From the male side, I just remember parachute pants, Memeber's Only jackets, and jean jackets. And wearing hightops with the laces untied.

I watched the Frankie goes to Hollywood last night.
I couldn't believe that Holley Johnson kept Frankie Goes to HOllywood from perfroming! That stinks. I wonder if he regrets it.

They have been very well done. I watched the Alarm one last night and it was really great seeing them on stage again, even for just the 2 songs they showed.

It would be really cool if they released the shows on DVD showing the full concerts and extra interview footage, since I'm sure they cut out a ton of stuff. I can dream anyway.

I saw the Extreme one and thought it was good, I liked Extreme, but were they an 80's band?

Ok, I know the Alarm sounds familiar, but my memory is shot. What were some of their songs?

'the stand' is probably their most famous tune. it's the first one that pops into my head...i'm not even sure that's the title.

i saw one the other night with 'dramarama' who the hell were they?

I would've put Extreme as early 90s.

The Alarm's biggest hit in the US was Rain in the Summertime, sometime around 86 or 87. Their lesser hits were Sold Me Down the River, Devolution Working Man Blues, 68 Guns, Presence of Love, and The Stand as Kim mentioned.
