I'm trying to get my cycles down and have been doing OPK's the last few months. I'm just curious, has anyone else done an OPK the day after a positive to see if it would still be positive? When I got pg with DD#2 I got a pos OPK... we BD that night... and then for the heck of it I tested again the following morning and got another very strong OPK. I was thinking the LH should really only be strong like that for 24 hours and why would it be so strong two days in a row? Do you think that MIGHT mean that the initial surge it's detecting is for an egg to be released in greater than 24 hours from then? Just being silly and trying the Shettles method to go for a boy next time  I'm wondering how long we really should wait to BD after I get that first pos. OPK. The main reason I bring it up is b/c I got a pos OPK this month and for the heck of it decided to test the next morning again... just to see... and it was a dark positive again. This isn't the month we're trying... just trying to get prepared for when we do. What do you think?

I've seen people's charts on FF with more than one + OPK. I've never used them myself, but I'm guessing it's possible.

I'd go with the mojo formula if I were you. You need to get pregnant in December (if you're still 33 then) for a boy :)

Yes, I used to get several + OPKs in a row. :dunno: Of course I also got + OPKs when blood tests showed I wasn't even ovulating--my RE decided I was one of the few people for whom OPKs don't work (ie I was getting false positives.)

I'm not saying you're getting false positives though--well, obviously not since it worked for you when you got pregnant with your second baby!

Sarah, I could actually feel O pains yesterday and today so I know it's right... just trying to figure out why it's still pos. today. I think I'll test again tomorrow just to drive myself mad.

Nocona, that is all part of the plan  We've got Dec., Jan, and March for the boy. Don't REALLY believe that stuff... but since it was right with both my girls I'm HOPING it will be right then too.

My guess is that you have a really strong O--and thus lots of the hormone that makes the test come out positive. :dunno:

I don't know if that's an accurate guess, but it sure sounds good!

That sounds good to me too, Sarah  Why not!

Good luck getting your boy. They are so much fun :)
