As of last Thursday, we are officially done having babies. Phil had the big V. :) He's still a little sore, poor guy, and he's so annoyed that he can't play soccer tomorrow. But otherwise, he's doing fine and everything went well. I'm relieved to have it over and done with. It's easier for me to move on without the possibility hanging out there. Katie is officially an only!

Congratulations!!!! I'm slightly jealous - James said there is NO WAY he'd do it; probably not a good idea to have brought it up after we moved to a neighborhood with three post-V babies!

Congratulations!
Just remember to get tested in 6-8 weeks. Rick still had swimmies for a while.

Anne :jawdrop: OMG! I can see why James would be skeptical! Did those parents test afterwards to make sure it worked? Phil said that it really wasn't too bad, but he would have also been happy to stick with condoms forever. I was the one pushing for it, because I needed the finality (and I hate spending the $$$ on condoms).
Stacy ~ We're going back in January to make sure we're all clear. I'm so happy it's finally done and over with!
Phil didn't want to tell anyone, so only you guys (and one friend of his IRL) know. The ILs and my parents don't know, and I don't think he's planning on ever telling them. He has told his mom (many, many times) that we're not having any more children. I guess she asked him, about a month ago, if he meant that, because she was trying to plan for $$$ purposes. (She puts money each month into a college account for Katie, and wanted to be sure she'd be able to do that for however many children we have, supposedly. However, they have plenty of money, and I know for a fact that she could put the same amount in accounts for 10 kids without worrying about it. So, I think that was just an excuse to ask about, and pressure for, more grandkids.) Anyway, it's nice to not have that hanging over our heads any longer. However, it's amazing how many testicle-related things I've heard since Phil had his V. The Nutcracker Suite on the radio, for example. And the reference to neutering Puss In Boots in Shrek 2 (which we watched this weekend). And Bree's comments about not being *into* the scrotum, on Desperate Housewives. It's testicles, testicles everywhere!

:rotflmao: Hopefully your DH will have a speedy recovery.
Congratulations on taking this leap. You sound very relieved. Perhaps some peace of mind will set in after January, if it hasn't already. Enjoy your only child! :)

testicles everywhere
Congratulations (that sounds weird to say  do they make cards for that? "congratulations on your recent vasectomy!" :rotflmao: )
My husband had NO qualms about telling everyone and their freaking uncle about his vasectomy  I had to tell him to shut up b/c it was no one's business .

Congratulations, Anne--I'm glad you feel good about this.
I think it's nice that Phil is keeping quiet about this--Brian used to work with a guy who told EVERYONE about his vasectomy...he even kept a stash of pamphlets about it at his desk to hand out to people!

:spit: O..M...G!!!!! That's too funny! It's one thing to be happy you did it, but it's another thing entirely to evangelize about it.
Thanks for the congrats, everyone. It's a weird thing to celebrate, but I really love closure, and this is that, for sure. :)
