I am getting our nieces and nephews gift cards to Borders Book Store this year. I figure it will encourage them to read!

12 year old boys are electronic nuts. Gift cards to Best Buy are always a hit :)

Thanks for the ideas, Ladies!
I bought them both books last year so I will probably do something different this year.
I was looking through the Toys R Us Big Book of Toys and saw a journal that has a locking feature that is voice activated and I thought my niece might like that. :dunno: It was under $20 on sale. Will run it by my sister.

My daughter is the same age and she has a journal from Limited Too. She loves it. Limited Too has tons of girlie stuff. Is she into music? How about a CD?

I never thought about checking Limited Too.
She does like music but I dont know what kind. I know both her and my nephew enjoyed the American Idol contest at the beginning of this year and I think they have some of the CDs of a few of the contestants.
Thanks for your input, Silke!

I have also found some great stuff at Target for girls. Little cheaper than Limited Too.
Small funky backpacks as a purse replacement are in right now, too.
Bracelet making kits are popular. Target has a pretty decent selection in the toy section. They used to carry a really nice glass bead kit. Lego makes something called Click-its, I think. Very girlie. You can get that at Target, even Walmart.
By the way, my daughter is into Hillary Duff.
