We're planning a delayed honeymoon to New York City in May or June. I think we're going to fly out and then drive home, and stop at some places on the way (Cedar Point for sure!). Hopefully we'll have enough money to go! :)

We are going to Skytop lodge in the Pocono Mts in March. I have no desire to ski, but I'll just veg and enjoy the surroundings!

In July, we will go to the IL's beach house in Bethany Beach, De.

We are planning on doing disney sometime this year, unless I get pg :crossfing.

Well, I *really* wanted to go to Disney in June because our playgroup was supposed to meet there. But, I have a feeling that is not going to happen because everyone is getting pregnant

We're going to Texas in March - Tara - I still hope we can meet up with you guys in San Antonio!

I'm also going with Carter and my mom to Jamaica in 3 weeks - dh is staying home!!! Can't wait! Although I'm a bit nervous about the flight!

We are leaving for Puerto Vallarta in 11 days. We are taking the kids and doing an all-inclusive family resort.....is that a vacation? :dunno: We are excited to do fun family stuff with our kids and have a few Coronas in between.

In September we are headed to California for my cousin's wedding. I haven't been home in over a year so it will be good to see the family. My mom will be traveling with us so DH and I will have to visit a few wineries while grandma babysits.

We do weekend trips of camping and visiting friends also.

I'd like to go back to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I know we will definitley be visiting Cape Cod, MA at least a few times since my parents have a vacation home in Chatham & my Uncle in P-Town.

We're still hoping to make a trip to NJ in April to see my family and have a playgroup get-together. We were also thinking about taking a vacation in September or October, just driving to some places in Colorado we've never been. But we have to see how the finances are, and also what our job situations are since we are both looking for new ones.

Well you've got me thinking. We don't have anything solid planned yet as a family. I am planning a trip to the Northeast in April to see some OUAL/UB/OUH friends and their babies. Yay! As a family I'd love to be able to go to Maui or Cancun this year. We've been talking about it, but we don't have any final plans. I'd like to do Disneyland with Ian for the first time, but I think by the time we can do it, I am hoping to be pg, and I don't want to go pg. I want to ride the rides too, man! :)

Don and I just returned from our vacation at Sandals Ocho Rios. We are planning 2 trips back to Buffalo to visit my family so they can see Ashton. We would love to do another adults-only vacation the same time next year, but I am hoping that I am at least PG with #2, so it would be ruled out.

I'm trying to convince DH that Katie is old enough to take to Disneyland this summer. So that, and a trip to my parents' cabin in Tahoe will probably be our only vacations this year. And that's IF I can talk DH into it. He thinks a 2-year-old is too young for Disneyland, but I don't think ANYONE is too young for the MOUSE!

Nicole
January 18th, 2004, 11:34 AM
Anne~ Katie is definately not too young for Disneyland!! Abby's been 3 times and other than the first time when she was just over 3 months old she's loved it!! We went at the beginning of December and she's still talking about Small World and Pirates of the Caribbean!! Katie would love it (although she may be at the perfect age to be a character-phobe!!)

We are planning a trip to Florida in April or May to see my IL's. My FIL has been sick and Jim really wants to go visit his dad.

The only other thing planned is a weekend trip to Dover, DE at the end of Septmeber for the Nascar race. This is our "adults only" weekend and I can't wait! :)

I'm pushing SO hard to get to go!!! I think Katie would just adore it, but Phil is so adamant that we should wait. HOWEVER... I think I have a trump card. We got engaged there, and this summer will be the 5th anniversary of our engagement. AND, I'll hopefully be celebrating the end of my lung problems, or at least, some kind of resolution to them. :crossfing So I might be able to talk him into a trip as a way of celebrating making it through all of that together. :crossfing :crossfing :crossfing

Our two planned trips will be within Mexico:

In the summer we're planning a car-trip to Chiapas. DH's grandmother lives there and although it is far, the surroundings are great and we want to know them.

In Dec we will visit my ILs in Monterrey.

DH and I are hoping to be able to take Jordan to Disneyworl in the fall...hopefully either my parents or the inlaws can go with us so we can have some adult time while we are there. If we do that, we will probably rent a condo and stay about a week...if not then we don't know....ofcourse it all depends on wether or not we have the cash flow to do any of it

We have two semi-vacations planned. They are just weekend trips though that we are taking for my road races. In February we're spending a weekend in Savannah for my half-marathon. In April we'll be in Charleston for another race. We've chartered a boat and will be staying in a bed and breakfast. Tenatively is a trip to London in late fall for our anniversary.

We dont have a vacation planned for this year as of yet, but I would really like to make plans to go to Key West again. I love it so much there and really am in need of some relaxation. But, regardless, nothing is going to happen until after the 15th of April and tax season is over.

Oh I guess I should mention that we do have plans to go to NC for a reunion for Rogers faternity and a trip to Tampa for a wedding, but I dont really consider that a vacation. :)

I *think* I have talked Phil into going to Disneyland!!! We have almost enough frequent flyer miles for one ticket, and we have this certificate for a $50 companion ticket, so if we can use those together, we'll only have to pay $50 to fly us all there (assuming Katie will be a lap child...). So, it will be a pretty cheap trip. Plus, we haven't taken a real vacation in AGES (like, since our first anniversary, I think!) so we need it. I'm so excited!!! I love Disneyland. (Actually, since we can fly so cheaply, I'm secretly thinking of attempting to make it a trip to Disneyworld, since I've never been there before. But shhh... don't tell.... I'm still working on getting to go at all! )

I know that we have a 4 day trip to Palm Bay, FL ( 45 mins from Orlando) planned for March since my mom lives there. We are also going to try to surprise my mom at Christmas with a 3 day cruise the weekend before Christmas since my mom's bday is 19th.

Considering we went to Hawaii last July & Europe in October, I think we're going to stay relatively close to home this year & do some long weekend trips. I know we're going to Portland, OR in March & St. Louis in April. We may go on a 3-day cruise to Mexico in June, but haven't decided on that yet. We are saving up for a trip to Sweden for possibly 2005 or 2006.

Yesterday we booked a family trip to the Acores!:jump2: (here is a site if anyone wants to look around :) http://www.drtacores.pt/ )

My mom, brother, sister, husband, twins, myself,dh and both my girls are going the last week of July for a week, I can't wait!! we spent 2-3 day's there for our honeymoon before going off to Portugal.. I would have gladly skipped Portugal and stayed on the island instead.. My mother is from there and hasn't been back in over 40+ years so it will be good for her ...I am just really worried about getting passports for my daughters, mainly my 14 yr old as I need to get her father's permission and he has passed away :( I have the death certificate though I just hope that we get this sorted out soon.. I plan on going to the passport office this thursday to get it over and done with..wish me luck :crossfing:

Wishing you luck Lisa! :crossfing:

We leave in 4 days (Thurs, April 1st real early in the morn.) to Miami (So. Beach). We'll be there for 5 days. We just wanted a quick get away mini-vacation at a nice place close to the beach that came within our budget. It was a last minute thing and we just booked it a couple days ago. It's been almost 3 yrs. since we've been on vacation (since our honeymoon to hawaii). We will take Alexia with us and we're so excited to just relax on the beach in the nice 81 degree weather! :) Since we just found out we're preg., who knows the next time we'll be able to take a vacation when baby #2 comes so may as well get it out of our systems now (and before my morn. sickness starts!).

Then in Sept., we're going to San Francisco. Dh will be in a national competition for his job that takes up 3 days, and we're wanting to extend it to make more of a vacation out of it. However, I think I'll be 6 or 7 mos. preg. around that time, so I hope I'll be able to fly assuming I'm feeling well. I'm not sure when Dr.'s draw the line of when you shouldn't fly when your preg.

In the summer we want to go to PA and take Lexie to Sesame Place again. :)

Mandi

Dawn... being 7 months pregnant shouldn't be a problem. Most Dr. draw the line at traveling 34-36 weeks. You might check with the airline though. Some have restrictions (although it's generally the same). I flew when I was 7 1/2 months along with no problems.

We're going to Disneyland next week for Micayla's 2nd birthday. We're leaving Wed. night. It'll be me, the girls, DH and my SIL. We're actually driving since it's only a 7 hour drive. We'll be staying through to Easter since DH's & SIL's parents are only 20 minutes from Disney.

In May we're all going to CA again, only this time instead of SIL it'll be with my Mom. She's flying in from IN to go with us. We have a timeshare condo on the beach in Capistrano for a week. After that, the girls and I are flying back to IN with her to spend a few weeks visiting and to attend my sister's wedding.

We'll almost certainly go back to IN in Dec. for Xmas too. :)

Love to!

Where ya at? I will be primarily in Evansville (I lived there for 20 years), but will also be in Indy & Bloomington (that's where my Sis is getting married :) )

BTW, my sister Jessie's birthday is the same day as Riley's. :) Just a few years earlier..

April 13th, 2004, 08:27 PM
Amy, what cruise line? I think my friend is on that cruise right now!

We're going to Block Island, Rhode Island for a week in June and that's about all we have planned right now, we've got weddings to attend/bridal showers/graduations all summer so we're just excited to get the one vacation in.

We're hoping next year to go to St. Lucia and Arizona.

We are planning to go to Eilat - the town at the most southern tip of Israel - during the second week of June. There ia a CPA convention down there at that time and DHs place of work subsidize 50% of the cost. They have tons of activities for the CPAs' spouses and kids, including shows. And then there is the POOL of course. My kids and I love going to the pool. So we are going to have a blast. DH might go to a few conferences and then again he might not.
Here is the hotel we'll be staying at:

We leave for Disney World on May 15th and then a week later we move to Georgia so that will probably be our only vacation for the summer. After the baby we will probably come back to Northern Virginia to visit DH's family and our friends.

I'm hoping next year to rent a beach house in Florida for a week!

We are going to Lake Tahoe for a week at the end of September. Other than that I think it will be weekend trips. We are also planning a big trip to Turks and Caicos next year, probably May. I can't wait for vacation time! :woo:

We are going to Boston, where I am from, for the whole month of July. We'll do some day trips and possible weekend trips there. We'll also do camping weekends. We're only 2 1/2 hours from Las Vegas so we'll go there for a few days. Since we are Disneyland pass holders we go there about once a month.

In September we will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, so we are going to take a small, adult only 3-4 day trip at the end of August.

I am hopefully going to Dallas/Ft Worth for the week of Memorial Day to visit family and friends and go to a wedding.. and then I hope for DH and I to take a weekend trip to Vancouver BC at the end of July for our anniversary.

We somehow just can't plan too far ahead of time. We took Lauryn to Clearwater beach the end of April. We booked all our reservations 21 days ahead of time. We booked another trip for Memorial Day weekend for just me and DH-- once again booked 21 days ahead. We're going to Playa del Carmen! So, I don't know what we're doing the rest of the year!

We are going to San Fransisco in September, for 10 days. I've been there once, my husband has never been. I didn't get to see much and there is so much there we both want to see. (Not just in S.F. but the surrounding area as well).

*Golden Gate bridge/park
*Alcatraz
*Pier 39
*Cable cars
*Winchester Mystery House (San Jose)

etc etc etc

After several years of no big trips, we're taking two this year:

We're going to Tahiti for 10 nights (7 on Moorea and 3 on the mainland) in August, which will be lovely since it will be the middle of winter here then, and we'll be hanging out for sunny skies! My family has all but gifted us this trip, and it will be a lovely healing time for us after the trauma and heartbreak...

Then we're also going to the Gold Coast of Australia for a week or so in October - my mum and her husband will be there for 6 weeks and they've rented a 2-bedroom apartment, so we're going to stay with them...it will be fun! And more sun! Woohoo!
