View Full Version : Mother's Day Out programs
Tara January 12th, 2004, 12:41 PM I am interested in finding a Mother's Day Out program to take Tyler to about once a week. I have searched the net to no avail. Anyone have any ideas how I could locate a good one? I have also asked around IRL mommies but still haven't found anything I Love!
TIA :)
Karri January 12th, 2004, 01:03 PM Ditto! I've been unable to find one around here
SarahK January 12th, 2004, 02:27 PM me too.
Lissa January 14th, 2004, 01:53 PM Most of the churches in our area have MDO programs! Have you checked the churches?
JillMelissa January 14th, 2004, 06:04 PM Our hospital has a great one. You might check there!
AahRee January 15th, 2004, 02:59 AM I can't find one, either. I can find MOPS and MOMS and all that, but nothing like a Mom's Day Out. :( I think I might try to start one at our church...
sheila January 15th, 2004, 01:16 PM MOPS and MOMs might be great places to find out about MDOs... I found out about the ones around here (mostly at churches) through other women.
LoriS January 15th, 2004, 02:34 PM Did you call any of the big daycare centers to see if they offer one? Or what about the YMCA?
Tara January 15th, 2004, 04:00 PM Thanks for the advice! I called some area churches but no luck. My church is small so we don't have one there. Most daycares are for two days a week around here. I will just keep looking :)
Faye January 19th, 2004, 11:52 AM I think you should go with the two days a week. I don't think I even know of a preschool in our area with mother's morning out that does only one day per week. I think they would much rather have a child there atleast two days so they aren't in complete shock each week when their mommy leaves them there with complete strangers. Both of my kids have reacted that way so far anyway. the more they go each week the easier it is for them to remember it when they go back the following week.:)

There is Angie! :) Morgan only goes one day a week.
Cortney January 19th, 2004, 08:20 PM A lot of Mother's Day Out (Morning out) programs aren't called that and are just a toddler or infant class at preschools. :)
Faye January 21st, 2004, 12:12 PM There is Angie! :) Morgan only goes one day a week. I have never talked to one that does less than 2 days. I remember when my son went that I had to go with a two day program atleast because they had nothing less than that. It's the same thing where Emily goes now :) I was going to just pay for the two days and send my son for 1 day anyway back then but decided to go with the two. I didn't start him in preschool until he was 3 years old though so maybe that's why I had to go with more days. I do remember that they had a mother's morning out at his preschool back then for the children under 3 so maybe they offered one day to that age group.
Rachel April 27th, 2006, 12:15 PM I am looking for a Mothers day out program in my area. I have found some, but just for two days a week they want my husband and I to pay $135.00. I only work four to five hour a day when I do work.
I am really looking for a Mothers day out program that might charge a little less then that. I can see maybe $100.00. Why so much! I guess I am just not understanding why so much for just two days a week. This is at a church just down the street from my house.
Cami April 27th, 2006, 05:25 PM The MDO my kids went to was $60 a month for 1 day (4 hours)a week, $110 for 2 days, and it kept increasing up to 5 days. It was more expensive than other local preschools/MDOs but it was a longer day. Most of the others were 2 1/2 hour programs and cost $70ish a month for 2 days a week.
