I am starting to get my Christmas list together and I was wondering who you buy gifts for at the center, or do you not buy gifts for anyone? Also, what do you normally get them?

I've avoided it in the past. I suppose I could bring in cupcakes or cookies or something as a thank you - also, Sam's birthday is 12/26 so it could be for that too.

When Matthew was in daycare, I just got stuff for the teachers in his room and the cook. I just made them each a tin of cookies and I gave them a Christmas card with his picture on it.

I've tried to do little things for the teachers in Julian's room in the past. But this year, he's changed teachers so much and spends so much time combined with other classes that I'll probably just bring goodies for everyone.

One year we gave Joe's teachers gift certificates to Borders. Last year I made everyone a loaf of pumpkin bread, I will probably do the same thing this year.

Last year I only had 1 in daycare for the holidays. I ended up getting each of her 3 teachers $10 gift cards to Blockbuster Video.
NOW that my son is enrolled.... there's at LEAST 3 caregivers for him and at LEAST 3 caregivers for my daughter. I don't even know some of the extra ones that fill in in her class.
I may just give the primary teachers the GC this year and bring in a bagel/muffin tray for everyone else. I usually bring the food tray in a whole WEEK before Christmas because everyone else usually does it that week. That way there's not an overload of food and it gets eaten. :eat:

I wasn't planning on doing anything. Mason has a bunch of different teachers. 2 in the mornings, 3 in the afternoons (1 is the same as in the morning, she does a split shift) and the one who is the "main" teacher even though she is only there from 8:30 (or 9:00) to 1:00pm.
Last year when he had the same 2 teachers all the time, in June at the end of "school" I made them and his regular "after school" teacher cookie mix in a jar.

Jackson has 3 care-givers and I am giving all 3 of them a yummy candle (one of the large kinds). I bought one set and broke the 3 candles up for each lady. I will be putting Christmas-y fabric on the lid and tie it with a red ribbon.

Those are really cute! I was at Costco last night and they have some really nice gift baskets. Maybe I will get those.

As a pre-school teacher, I just wanted to say that we love getting Christmas gifts from parents. It makes us feel that they appreciate all that we do. I have gotten a wide variety of gifts, gift cards are my favorite. :)

I ended up getting his lead teacher this embroidered sweatshits that says 'kids are my business' and it has a little red schoolhouse and some kids swinging on swings. That is going to be from Connor. Then Tim and I are giving her a card with $50 in it from us.
I don't know what to get the director though. She is in his room in the morning until 8:00 so we want to get her a little something.
