I am seriously considering working from home. At the moment I work P/T at a pharmacy which is only 9hrs a week. I really look at it as a sancturay for me, I dont need to work as DH is lucky enough to have a job that looks after us all as a family but I like to have that little extra for myself.

The reason I want to work at home is because I want to be able to have more time with Sarah and decide myself what hours I want to do, ideally nap times and late evening when DH comes home from work, I have worked that out to be around approx 10hrs.

I have checked out opportunities advertised on the web but stumble across a few issues that I am not happy about. Some of these 'businesses' claim you can make around £250-£2000 (approx $400 - $5000) per month, I dont know how legite these claims are. Also, either some websites want a start up fee or, they dont devuldge any information about their business.

http://www.mymaguk.com (http://www.mymaguk.com/) This idea sounded too good to be true although a great idea, that was until I saw the start up fee, £2,499 or 3 instalments of £899, roughly x2 the figure and you will get the American $ amount. This dissapointed me as there is noway as a young family that I want to risk that amount of money no matter how great the idea is!

I completely understand that as a UK resident it may be difficult for you to advise me on how to go about it, what I really want to know is, is it possible to get work from home from these websites or is it better to contact something like a local job centre? Has anyone taken a job from a website and used this as their second income and have been succesful? Or are these sites all really a scam and I should stay well clear?

Honestly, anytime they want a start-up fee like that, I'd steer clear. Can you sell something like Mary Kay in the UK? (I'm trying to think of businesses that might be overseas.) I also am pretty sure that Partylite does business in the UK, so if you like candles, that might be a good way to go. I love Partylite stuff! One of my good friends is starting a business right now, and if she wasn't, I would be. With Partylite, there is no start up cost. You earn your starting kit by having a party with a certain $$$ amount in sales. (I believe it's $350). http://www.partylite.co.uk/

Can you do any consulting or have a business that's just you? Do you write or have any skills you can market? Here's something interesting I found recently:
Online Proofreading (http://www.onlineproofreaders.com/cgi-bin/proofreaders/r.cgi?cafewahm)

What do you enjoy?

I think any site where you have to pay to join is BS.

I do Secret Shopping jobs and online surveys for extra money.
