Dylan is 9 months old and has been taken care of by my Grandma and Mom since I went back to work. In a few weeks I am thinking of having him start day care in the infant room at the Center I teach at. He would only go 2 days a week, but I am very worried about him being in a new place with people he doesnt know. Ive only left him with family and he has stranger anxiety right now. One of my main concerns is how will nap in a crib! He co sleeps with us at night and has never been able to even nap on his own. I don't believe in CIO and I know he'll probably be left to cry in his crib if he wont sleep. My question is~~~Do any of you co sleep with your babies and they sleep in cribs at day care? How did the adjustment period go? Thanks.

Well, we put Aidan in daycare at 3 months, so he was a tad younger. But we were cosleeping on & off the two years he was in daycare. At home he NEVER has gone to sleep on his own (to this day!), but at daycare, its a different story. As an infant, they'd rock him to sleep. As a toddler, he laid down on a cot/mat with his blanket and they rubbed his back....just like all the other kids...and they said he'd go down just fine.
When I worked in daycare, there were kids who co-slept and we always managed to get them to sleep. As infants, we either rocked them or put them in their crib and rubbed their backs (or faces if they were back sleepers) till they fell asleep and when they were older, we laid next to them on the floor and rubbed their backs or their heads. I cant think of one child who didnt end up napping. And not once did we ever purposefully let a child CIO in their crib.
