It's introductory.
It's simple.
It's all mine.

When I was pregnant with my daughter Hanna, we had just moved into our new home & the room which would be hers (yes, we knew it was a girl) was all picked out -- not hard considering there were only two bedrooms!
I took the opportunity to do a design that was "me". I didn't want a cookie-cutter bedroom (go to the store, pick out wallpaper, have my husband spend countless hours putting it up). I loved him too much for that to happen.
Nope.
That's not me.
Since I am a closet painter (no, I don't paint IN the closet) I thought that it would be a great way to be creative and make my newborns' room fresh & clean.
My idea started with just a simple colour on the wall.
Yellow.
One coat over the white so that it was pale.
Next, was the point of no return.
I started stencilling and drawing letters, alphabet, hearts, bugs around the mid-point of her room. I would draw a foot of detail & then go back to "fill" it all in. I used pencil crayons, waterpaints, oil paints, crayons, markers, pastels ... you name it, I used it to vary the colours & textures of the characters.
When I was done, I was able to stand back & really feel pleasure from all that I had accomplished.
I was 8 months pregnant and it took me two weeks to complete.
The final detail was something that I hadn't thought about in any other house/room I had lived in before. The switch plate.
They were always white, weren't they?
Other than those ceramic ones ... you never see any that have any personality. I could handle that challenge!
And so an idea was born ... along with my daughter who consumed all of my time and that's why it's taken me three years to get this business going.
Even as I posted my website for the first time today, I was still painting new designs -- my ideas are endless.
I want to offer designs/colours that help bring a room to life.
I had originally thought that a childs' room was the place that needed it but since then, I've decorated my diningroom and master bedroom with beautiful colour plates.
I still use any medium that I have in order to make each plate unique & creative. Anywhere from oils to markers to decoupage.
So please check in often to see what else I have to offer ... because there is no limit to what ideas I have.
Like I said, it's only the time!!
