Connor goes to DC 2 days a week. Everytime we drop him off the same girl is there and I really like her. But almost everytime we pick him up there is someone new watching him. Is this normal? I thought that he would have to same teachers every day so that he could get used to them. It really bothers me that there is someone new there almost every time. Should I bring it up to the director or am I just being paranoid?

As in there is a new person afternoon or it's just not the same girl as in the morning. It would be normal for the morning girl not to be there in the evening as they generally only work 6-8 hour shifts.

It could be that you are getting there as most kids have already left and they consolidate the rooms and/or teachers as it gets later in the day. If he's still in his room and there's a new girl in there every day, I'd ask the director what the deal is.

It depends, like Nocona said. Talk to the director about it and see what they say.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. There is a new girl in there every afternoon. Sometimes he is the only one there, sometimes there are 3 kids there so it is not that he is the only one left all the time and so they are just putting someone in there to watch him. Know what I mean? The actual "lead teacher" that is required to have the 4 year education to be the "lead teacher" I have only seen there twice. It is usually younger girls in there with the kids when we go to pick them up.

I'd say the younger girls there in the late afternoon (assuming that's the time) is normal as the lead teachers probably are off mid-afternoon or so. I would question the director about it being a different girl every day.

Thanks, I will have to do that. There is this one girl who I really don't like. I walked in one day (I came earlier than I normally do) and Connor was in his crib awake and she said "oh, he just woke up from a nap" and there was a little girl that was just crying on the floor and finally she just picked her up and was freaking out because she had a runny nose and did not want her to get it on her. I have not seen her in a while so maybe they told her not to come back or something. Who knows.

Hopefully they did. Sheesh. You don't work in the baby room and not plan on getting nasty things on you  Matthew's teachers would only wear t-shirts, golf shirts, etc. because they didn't want to have to worry about their good clothes being puked on, etc.

Our daycare uses alot of high-school girls to fill in the afternoon shifts for the newborns through young 2-yr-olds. They rotate them alot. Once the kids get out of the toddler rooms, they get more consistent teachers.

That's what I would say. Maya's teacher gets to the day care center around seven AM, so she's there when I drop Maya off around 7:15. When I pick Maya up between 5:30 and 5:45 PM, there's a different teacher there. It's never bothered me because I figured the first teacher's day ends around 3:00 or so -- that would be her eight hours. She can't be expected to work ten hours a day, every day.

Well when we got there yesterday the "lead teacher" was there with the kids. I really like her. I was so into the pumkin that Connor had made that I forgot to ask about the teacher shifts. LOL  I do not expect that they work a ten hour shift everyday. In fact, I would prefer it because that would lead to a very crabby teacher! LOL But I would like to see similar people there everyday. Does that make sense? For Connor I think that it would be nice for him to see a familiar face there with him. Not new people everyday.
