I have a sea shell, ocean, lighthouse theme in my main bathroom. The mirror in there is old with black worn spots around the edges. I couldn't figure out how to get the black spots out so I hot glued sea shells all around the bottom edge to hide the spots. Here is the problem, with the heat and humidity of the shower, the shells keep falling off. What kind of glue should I use for the shells?

Oh, and if anyone knows how to get rid of those black spots I'd sure love to hear it!

Thanks a bunch!

Loretta

What kind of hot glue did you use?

Have you ever tried E-6000 glue? It works great on glass, and it's washable so I'm thinking it might work for this application. Michael's, Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's, and other hobby type stores would have it.

Well, I didn't know that there is more than one kind of hot glue, so I am not sure what kind I used!

Thanks for all the suggestions!

I would try super glue,
I buy my superglue at the dollar store and I use it all the time. It is great! Also, sounds like the mirror needs re-silvering. I don't know if it is expensive, or if they have home kits.
