View Full Version : How do you wear your hair now?

Sort of a spin off from Anne's wardrobe question.

My hair is a little past my shoulders. I usually pull it all back, twist it and clip it up. It has been such a hot summer and my hair really made me feel hot and muggy if I wore it down (not to mention the frizz!) I also pull just the sides up and clip it, leaving it long in the back and of course there is the wonderful baseball cap.

DH hates my hair up. It is uncomfortable for me to wear it down. I get hot, the boys pull it, it gets in my face. Any other cute hair advice??

Elisete... I chopped all my hair off. I have a short cut - that I wash in the morning, throw a handfull of mousse in it and VOILA... I am done :) When I am getting up to greet my first daycare child at 7am - and they keep coming and then dont leave till 8pm... I dont have time for a hairstyle that needs any form of maintenance. I used to have long hair that I loved to braid or style... Again - no time for any of that now. :)

I also went short. I admit, I love it. I rake a comb through it in the morning and that's it. I used to have very long hair that I always wore up too. This is sooo much easier.

Right now, its past my shoulders and half the time, I pull it back in a low ponytail and half the time, I just wear it down. Regardless, I still have to "do" it. This weekend, i am getting it chopped off b/c I dont feel "hip" enough :blush1: But just b/c its short doesnt mean I dont have to put time & effort into it, b/c that is the type of hair I have and the type of gal I am!

I actually just got a haircut. It was always up in a ponytail and I got sick of it. BUT I am a huge chicken when it comes to cutting my hair, so I only got 3-4 inches off. And it still feels great!

Right now, I usually wear mine down. Otherwise, I pull it up in a ponytail, or make two low pigtails

It looks great! Mine is a little longer and I have bangs.

My hair was similar to Lisa's old style, but it started driving me nuts PP when it was coming out in chunks. So I got brave and chopped it off last fall and I have kept it short (to me at least!) ever since (and my profile picture is pretty recent) It's a simple bob which suits me just fine. It's classic and simple to style which works for me! :)

My hair is naturally curly and goes to about my shoulders. I have to "do" it no matter what, or it is a frizzy mess. I don't blow dry but I have to put shine enhancer and mousse in it so it isn't frizzy. I did have it cut about a month ago and had long layers added, but I usually end up with it in a low ponytail. When it is down, Jackson just pulls it, so I only wear it down if I am not going to be around him (so like once a month!). I would like a more "hip" style as well, but I am too chicken...

I was out this weekend and a lady in front of me had her hair up in a "bun clip". It had the little stick that goes through it. I thought it looked so cute. I bought one today and am wearing it now. It is sort of like just clipping it up but with a cuter clip.

I chopped my hair off after I had Jackson because I was tired of always wearing a ponytail. It was nice and easy to care for, but you end up having to do more maintenance on a shorter cut. I have been growing it out for the past year or so, and it's finally almost all one length again. I can't wait to be able to put it up in a clip again! The grass is always greener...

My hair is very long - almost down to my butt. I wish I could wear it down, but Brice loves pulling it. So these days it is almost always in a single braid, two braids, or bun (I love those bun sticks). I've been seriously considering getting it cut and donating it to Locks of Love. I think I may take the plunge in the next few months. My Mom is thinking of doing it too - she's always had butt length hair.

My typical looks:

Look at it this way....its only hair and it WILL grow back if you dont like it.

I first took the plunge in college....going from mid-back long to Josie Bissett short (a la Melrose Place when it first started). I've let it grow out several times since then, but always cut it off again. Guess I was meant to be short!

My hair is long, down to the middle of my back, which is probably where I will keep it for awhile.Grace loves to grab a fistful, so I generaly wear it pulled back. Although, I was getting bored with it, so a week ago I trimmed it and now I have bangs. I like the way they look, but probably by Christmas I will be bored with this look and let them grow out again. I have been thinking about coloring it, strawberry blonde maybe..................

Karri, I think we might be hair twins. I've gone through the exact same pattern as you. I'm either in various stages of growing it out, or I'm contemplating hacking it all off. I'm never satisfied with the hair I have for very long. :blush1:

Yeah Nichole. When its short, I see long styles and then I want it long. But I always forget how sh*tty my thin, fine hair looks when its long.

I do the same thing, only short to me is a little longer than chin length. I am always growing my hair out, then I get sick of it, cut it shorter, then get mad that I cut it all off and grow it out again...it is a never ending cycle!

I am contemplating changing the color of it for a change. As I said I am too chicken to cut it short, mostly b/c my hair is so curly and I think it would take more work to make it look good short...

my hair was always really long. my hair was almost down to my butt when the bubs were born. a few months ago i went to the hairdressers for a trim and told them to cut it past my shoulders. but thats all they did and it looked boring. so last week i went back and went a little shorter and had some layers put in. i straighten my hair when i wash it (probably only twice a week) and it pretty much stays that way...but i wear it in pig tails (around the kids) as its too short for one pony tail ;)

I'm in a growing phase right now so it's working it's way towards my shoulders, but not there yet!

Okay, I've seen this thread a few times and wanted to post, but the answer is almost too embarassing to type. My hair thinned a LOT after Katie was born, and never has gone back to normal. I tried cutting it short to see if that would help, but that just made it short and thin instead of long and thin. So, I'm currently trying to find something that doesn't look horrific on me. My hair is naturally curly/frizzy, so I really need to use something in it, but any and all products weigh it down and plaster it to my face, so it's a total no-win situation. So, lately, I've just been wearing a lot of ponytails, and because it's really too short, even pony tails look incredibly messy. At one point last spring, we thought I might have to take a medication that would make me lose my hair, and I was actually thinking that could be good - I'd have an excuse to wear a wig...

Mine is very short! I got it cut just after college - it looks way better short because it is soooo fine. The only problem is that I have to dry it or it looks horrible.

Mine is long and I either wear it down or I knot it in a bun thing. I also use ponytails or the bun things. I have bangs and I think it helps for when I do wear it up. I'd love to learn more styles!
It seems that either my hair is frizzy or weighed down and well... dirty looking! I haven't found any products that look okay lately.
My hair went nuts while I was pregnant and I got it cut to my shoulders. Now it's grown to my waist.
