Okay, ladies..... Apparently my RE wants to put me on Lupron for 3 months. I had a laproscopy and hysterscopy last week and he saw endometriosis in my uterus.

For those of you taking it (or have taken it), I have a few questions:

1. Does the shot hurt (apparently I will receive one shot a month...$500 per shot:eek: although insurance is paying)?

2. What kind of side effects did (do) you have?

3. Any recommendations to make the 3 months easier?

Kerri, I take Lupron for all my IVF cycles and I have very little s/e. The shot does not hurt, my s/e consist of MAYBE a slight ache in the head (but not a headache), and I can't think of anything to make it easier - should be cake!

I do know some women who experience weight gain on Lupron but not all of them do. The biggest thing is the headachess. Good luck!

I was treated with Lupron for endo too. And now thanks to IVF I have a beautiful baby girl, Grace. As far as the side effects from the lupron, The ONLY thing I experienced that was noticeable were hot flashes. I have to admit they were not exactly comfortable, but nothing that you couldn't liive with. The shots didn't hurt, the needles they used were very small. I had three shots of lupron, I started in August-October, but it took until Decmeber to get my period back again.I think the hardest part for me was the emtional aspect, I didn't have any symptoms of endo, so the diagnosis was unexpected. Good luck, and any questions please feel free, believe me I 've been there.
