View Full Version : Favourite 'International' Programs
Cat January 7th, 2004, 05:43 PM What are you favourite tv programs that you love to watch but are not made or focused around your country?
I love Charmed, CIS and can not be disturbed when Will and Grace is on and I have just got hooked on a new Medic show called Strong Medicine.
Remember this is a program which is not made or filmed in your country ;)

Mary and I loved this as well. Cat, it's called Spooks over in the UK. We also loved The Office.

Dennis January 8th, 2004, 11:28 AM I also want to add that I much prefer the way shows are done in the UK, where they just make a short run of 10 shows or whatever for each "season." That way they can keep the quality higher. The biggest problem with TV in the U.S. is the major networks still operate under the system of having to make 22 episodes and start them in September and end them in May, stuffing reruns in the middle to fill up the space.
I think that's why the cable networks are having so much success with shows like The Soprano, Sex in the City, Monk, etc. They just make a short run and air them whenever they are ready in order without having reruns in the middle.
Sorry to go a bit off the subject here.

I was wondering what MI5 was thank Dennis for clearing that up for me :D
And although I said your favourite international show, I have to say The Office is hilarious, I didnt realise you got it over there. I am only sad its no more :( (They did show a xmas special here and it was brilliant!)
And I will also add Sex in the City and 6 feet under as my other favourites. Just forgot about them since both series have finished for now.

The wonders of Cable and Satellite :) BBC America shows it over here. They haven't shown the Christmas special yet, although one of my coworkers downloaded it off the Net.

christieCA January 8th, 2004, 01:26 PM Well, you already beat me to it, but I was going to say The Office. I can't wait to see the Christmas Special and I'm so sad that there will be no more after it...
We also like The Prisoner which is super old, but still excellent!
Martian Lullaby January 8th, 2004, 03:04 PM I'm a sucker for British comedies. I like Absolutely Fabulous and Red Dwarf, to name a couple.
