Hi, all! I'm going to Las Vegas with my bestest friend, her DH, my DH, and some other people over President's Day weekend and we've never been. WHAT should we do, except party like rock stars! What should we do? What should we skip? What should we not miss?

If you've been, share your experiences... yea, I know... what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas... LOL! But, I'd appreciate any help you can give.

DH and I went to Vegas in July and loved it :) We stayed at the Monte Carlo. We are not quite "party animals" though, so we mostly went to all the different hotels to see everything there, we shopped, we gambled, etc. I personally loved the M&M factory :) Definitely catch the fountains at the Bellagio at night, it's amazing. Ceasar's Palace is so fun for shopping! If I think of anything else I'll let you know - have fun :)

I went to Vegas in June and stayed at Imperial Palace. Perfect location IMHO!!!!!!!!!

If you are into partying you should go to the Coyote Ugly bar (I forget what hotel it is in)! Another fun/romantic thing to do is take a gondola ride at the Vinetian.

Have a great time.

WELL, right now we have 2 reservations (LOL!!!). We have a one at the Mirage and one at the Luxor. Our friends are at the Mirage, which is a lot more expensive, but right in the middle of the Strip. If we stay at the Luxor, we'd rent a car. But, we don't know if we'd have to pay for parking everywhere we take the car... if we do, then it is almost worth it to just stay at the Mirage... Ugh!

We know we are seeing "O", the Cirque de Soleil show the first night there. And the boys are golfing while my best friend and I go to a spa the next morning. I'm the partier and she's more tame ;), but we are going to try to have a BLAST!!!

SO many good ideas so far!!! Keep 'em coming!!! (COYOTE UGLY BAR!!!!)

You can park for free at the hotels. That is what we did. Then we figured that we can ride the little monarails all around so we basically stopped using the car.

I really liked the Pirate show outside of Treasure Island but you have to go early b/c it gets crowded. We went to the zoo thingy at the Mirage (I have no idea what it is called) that was nice. Especially the part with the dolphins.

I have NO idea what else we did. LOL I'll have to pull out the pictures.

OH - we went to some Star Trek thing too. I thought I would hate it but it wasn't that bad. It was actually pretty cool.

Seeing a show at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay is fun (if anyone good is playing).

I've heard the Buffet at The Rio is one of the best, although we've still never tried it.

If you will have a car, and want to go to Downtown LV (not the strip)..... the Laser Show thing down there every night is neat to see (and free). I forget the name of it, but if you ask ANYONE there they will know what you are talking about.

Don't know if it's still there (I haven't been for 3 years ,and things change FAST in Vegas), but there used to be a really fun Dueling Piano Bar in New York, New York!

The Female Impersonator show called Legends (can't remember which hotel it's at, but it's run FOREVER, so again.. ask anyone, and they can tell you) is HYSTERICAL! Those guys are great!

Again, things change fast, so I don't know if it's THE bar anymore, but Rain at The Palms was the IT club when we were there last.

We've stayed at

The Luxor
MGM
Excaliber
San Remo (A PIT!...don't even look there).

My husband and I weren't big fans of staying at the Luxor. I have elevator issues, and they are really funky there and run on a 45 degree slant (up the pyramid), and it freaked me out everytime! Then we'd get to our floor and I'd be fine, and then my DH would have issues with the Heights issues! LOL The rooms are all around the pyramid on the outside, and the center is totally open to the casino below. DH HATED having such a skinny walkway and having to look down! LOL We were quite the pair.

Just thought I'd clue you in on that incase either of those issues will bother either of you.

Of everywhere we've stayed.... I liked the MGM the best. I would like to try one of the newer ones that were all still being built last time we were there.!

You are seeing one of the best shows IMO. "O" is wonderful. DH and I started renting a car when we would go to Vegas because we could get a Mid Size car for $20 a day and in previous trips we were spending about $40/day in Taxi cabs. You can walk but a lot of things are so far away. Oh the other thing is if you want to Gamble and do not want a high minimum go to places like the Sahara or "downtown" and the majority of the time the tables have a $1 minimum. Have fun !!!

We have stayed at: Cesears Palace, Treasure Island, Monte Carlo, Amerisuite, and Sahara. My favorite is Treasure Island.

I used to live in Vegas and I am so jealous!

One thing I highly recommend is the fountain show at the Bellagio. It's at the top of the hour, every hour. It's awesome!

Also, don't worry about having to pay for parking. There are very, very few places you have to do that.

I didn't see anyone else mention this - you're going in February so it might be pretty cold. Bring some sweaters and a coat, but also bring short sleeves just in case.

Have fun and good luck!

Okay, so we've definitely decided on staying at the Luxor (Chris, the story of you and your DH CRACKED me up!!! Luckily, we'll be okay there) and we've rented a car... I'm syked that most places don't charge for parking! Guess they just want to get you into the hotel to gamble! Also, we've gotten our tickets for "O" for Thursday night. I think we are going to go cheaper for dinner that night, the show is 10:30, then probably hit some tables after...

So, keep the ideas coming... whatever you think of! I'm writing everything down!

You're the best!

You're going to have the best time!!! "O" is amazing. You'll have a great time with a car - though honestly even at the Luxor you don't really need it as they have shuttles etc. But it is good if you want to go off the beaten path or anything.

The Hilton has the Star Trek bar. Oh and at the Rio they have a bar on the top floor with an awesome patio that has an incredible view of the strip - I think it's called the Voodoo lounge. I'm not a bit partier - but I'm glad we went there just for the view.

The shopping is great at the Venetian. And I loved the breakfast buffet at the Paris. Oh it's just so much fun there no matter what you do! Just walking through all the hotels and seeing the sights is incredible even if you don't gamble at all.

Yep - shopping at the Venetian is fun. You like shopping right, Rebecca? ;)

We stayed at the NYNY and that was fun. I liked the location. We didn't rent a car. We walked a lot and took cabs when we got lazy.

We did the Eiffel Tower thing at Paris and the views were nice. I'd like to try the restaurant in the tower. Might be neat.

"O" should be amazing. You're going to have a blast. Lucky!!
